- Karine Jean-Pierre has made history after being chosen by President Joe Biden to become his new White House press secretary, becoming the first black and openly gay person to hold the role.
Jean-Pierre will take over next week from outgoing press secretary Jen Psaki.
At a press briefing announcing the change, Jean-Pierre said: "This is a historic moment and it's not lost on me. I understand how important it is for so many people out there."

Affirmative action is very alive and well in the Biden Admin. MAKING HISTORY because of being black & gay rather than qualifications; one must be honest and just say TOKEN which she takes no shame and grabs the position.
Even if she was the most capable person for the job, there will always be the assumption that she got the job based on those "diversity factors". Diversity quotas have given this label of "they got the job because of x" to all minorities, even if they were the best candidates for the job; which introduces a negative perception of them and a feeling that they don't deserve to be in the position they're in from the jump; when in actuality they might fully deserve to be where they are.
Come on man, joe biden has so far explicitly said he is going to pick a women of colour twice now, plus with diversity quotas creeping in to society it's kinda hard to know these days. If they referred to her as "the first black and openly gay woman to hold the role" it would imply that an openly gay man has previously held the role, which I don't believe is the case. By using the word person instead of women, it actually provides more context, so I would argue it is a better choice of words.
