This comment gives me mixed feelings OMG! I mean, I LOVE Meredith, sometimes I can really see myself in her (especially when i go through the first 10 seasons, what I'm doing now, by the way), but I can't deny the fact that in the past few years Ellen Pompeo may have growth way too confortable with this character? I really can't explain it, I just feel that more often than not her performance is just to bland since the 14th/15th season... perhaps that's just because I'm watching it all over again (now on I'm in season 7).

Also, what's very special about this scene is, Meredith is not one to share emotion in that way. Like I can not picture her having a scene like this with Amelia or Maggie. I feel she and Addison now have a special bond no one understands because of there past and the way they understand each other on a deeper level.
Kate Walsh is pure magic. That acting doesn’t come around very often. Such beautiful chemistry between Addison and Meredith. This was the best episode in years probably since Derek left
I like the way Mer and Addi has the residents thinking they hate each other 🤣👏 they both never had any kinda hate towards each other, they had a weird relationship.
They have come so long way, from where they first met. I love seeing this, they both loved Derek so so much. And seeing them hugging was like everything.
Oh man, those "interns" are like the internet comments on youtube and other social media... and say what you will about the character Addison, but I think she must've been the most professional of them all... she was a mess in her personal life, and sometimes it seeped into the work life, but she always owned up. And same goes for Mark... yes he screwed most of the hospital staff, but when he had to be a doctor... he brought his A game.
The BEST part about this was that Meredith didn't minimize Addison's pain in that moment just because she wasn't Derek's widow. Meredith understood Addison's importance in Derek and hers lives, she let Addison have her moment - and then gave her a reason to keep on believing in Derek.
The closure we didn't know we needed: woman power. We don't need to compete we simply need to build each other up. More importantly I am grateful that when Addi tried to dim down her pain feeling like she had to feel it less because of Meredith's presence Mer could empathize instead and even bring solace letting her know it's okay to feel it without needing to apologize. Meredith Grey you are one awesome tv Mom.Your resilience and strength incomparable.

The role of her life. For Kate Walsh and Ellen Pompeo also! They can do another 100 movies and tv series! They will forever be Addison Montgomery and Meredith Grey
The way their relationship developed to this point, though sad, is nice to see. Because they both knew Derek at different points in his life. Meredith knew that Addison lost him too, more than once.
I think everyone forgets that even though the situation with Addison and Derek and Meredith wasn’t great in the beginning but Addison did love Derek and you can tell from the scene she still had love for Derek 💖😖😭
Great scene. You should NEVER make assumptions. That isn't ever good for anyone. She got it right but got it all wrong at the same time. She assumed that she had made her cry due to a disagreement they had, but that was NOT the case. People tend to thrive off of mess and drama in other people's lives. And we REALLY shouldn't be that way.
I just remembered that Derek had proposed to Meredith in the elevator. So like imagine when Addison brought up Derek, all those memories of their important elevator rides came up. 😢
Omg I did NOT expect to get so emotional when I watched this episode 😭😩…Addison and Meredith’s elevator scene…Addison meeting the kids…I loved it! but it was definitely a tear jerker lol
Addison is an amazing character, despite their situation being so complicated. They have both set aside their differences to bond over what they have in common. Addison was with Derek as much as Mer did. Although there was a lot of things she did wrong, all of them did.
I know Addison will probably never be able to fully forgive Meredith for her affair with Derek... But I also know how much she really values her friendship with her. And I think meeting the kids really helped her in a way, to move on from everything that happened with Meredith and Derek.
she says Meredith is the one actually going through but I don’t think she realizes that she spent most of her life with Derek, she is going through it as well. maybe not in the same way of Meredith but she is definitely going through it as well
Meredith is the widow. She was the one that had to make the decision to take Derek off life support, plan his funeral, handle his final affairs all while grieving the love of her life. She also has to raise their three children by herself. Addison’s grief is valid but as the grieving widow Meredith was most effected by Derek’s passing.
@@lynne709 nobody said she wasn’t most effected, I said their are effected differently. it’s sounds to me as if you are trying to downplay addisons grief just because Meredith has the kids and is the grieving widow which isn’t right at all.
@@imnaomiivlogs12 I’m not downplaying Addison’s grief. As I said, her feelings are valid. I’m just saying that she was correct to say that Meredith was the one that had to go through it. The burden of Derrick’s death rests on Meredith not Addison. Addison was acknowledging that.

It was great that they gave this moment to Addison even after all the years since Derek has passed as it was her first time in Seattle since. I will partly agree about grieving for Mark in private practice as when they found it it was during Pete’s memorial but they did explore it in the next episode.
@@PjD0150 oh did they? I never saw the after math just the initial reaction, That’s good then they gave her time to react.
@@elenamoreno7644 They gave Addie time to react. Derek called her during Pete's funeral and she broke down in tears about it that was when Violet got pissed at everyone crying during Pete's funeral. But the episode after that it really talked about her grief for Mark. So it was not overshadowed.
What a unique moment seeing the original cast hopefully shonda can bring back izzie and Cristina
Sandra has said multiple times she's done with Grey's so I don't think we're going to see Cristina again... :(
Sandra Oh has said repeatedly she will never come back.
Btw Shonda isn’t the writer for greys anymore
@@katieface86 but she at least should come back for the final episode right?😭😭
She’s finding Villanalle, right now the Assassin psychopath haha.
This has been one of the best grey scenes in years imo. Kate is a phenomenal actress. You can feel the pain and get all the feels.
The look mer gave addie about meeting her kids and how addie eyes grew big with awe was just so touching. 2 strong women who loved him sharing a heartfelt moment is everything. ❤️🥰
So in love with this scene.
Addison and izzie will always be the two best at showing emotion. That’s what made the old greys so great. This is the first episode I cried during in forever. Addison is so much more likable and lively than Meredith.
@@leozinR exactly! Like it’s really just been the past 4/5 seasons that her heart isn’t in the role like it once was. But especially the first 12 she was incredible
@@BrandonNaatz I gotta agree with that. She was flawless in the 12th season (the “Perfect Penny killed my husband” episode it’s one of my all time favorites), but since then I can’t help but feel like she’s just “doing the job”
@@leozinR amen! Agreed! And she’s admitted the past few years she’s only stayed on because of the paycheck
i’m so confused what season was this bc i’ve watched the whole thing and i don’t remember it
she was his wife way longer than meredith, they were a family for 11 years, and even if she wasn't the love of his life, they spend more than a decade thinking they were
@@motherofpea4rll uh yes?
He was with both woman for about 11 years , and he had babies with merideth .But he had a realationship with both it’s understandable Addison would have feelings of loss for Derek same as mark . Even though she has moved on with her new family.
@@danialleonardo9223 sorry I’m dyslexic, I genuinely thought it said “she was with his wife way longer”
it's not a competition 🤦♀️
Not really sure why we're comparing or making it a competition. Both women shared a intense relationship's with Derek. This scene is acknowledging it
This season … i can’t help but assume that this is the last . If it is the last season then well I’m glad all of you guys are with me for the ride . ❤️
so heartwarming y’all this was the best episode
the way derek's mention still brought tears in my eyes even after years...
The way Meredith said, "...and they are very real.." Her voice breaks, her heart breaks...
That’s why they’re best frenemies
They have come so long way, from where they first met. I love seeing this, they both loved Derek so so much. And seeing them hugging was like everything.
I absolutely adore Addison. My favorite character hands down.
I'm am so proud of how far these women have gone. This is what we needed. That CLOSURE. Hope they'll become close friends ❤❤❤
Kate's talent is so beautiful. She's capable of creating such realistic, genuine characters. I have tears pouring down my cheeks from this scene.
I know after Lexi’s group of interns, it seems like the new ones are just there to comment on what our mains are doing.
Meredith and Addison love the same man. They both addressed it wonderful and we finally got the closure we wanted and needed between those two.
Literally my heart felt this😭😭
The BEST part about this was that Meredith didn't minimize Addison's pain in that moment just because she wasn't Derek's widow.
I really hated Helm trying to look down on Addison, maybe because of her crush on Meredith, but she should respect a wonderful surgeon.
Helm is mad annoying
@@2302blackd RIGHT?!? So annoying. 🙄
Every resident except schmidt is annoying in this episode, everytime they start talking about their past life, I’m like basically yelled You all don’t know shit about their life so shut the f up!
Helm is so annoying talking about addison and Meredith as she knows them or anything about their history 😂😂😂😂😂
like girl sit your ass down and chill
@@tristanh2309 i did the same
But Helm was the worse one
She was the only one talking as she knows Meredith and addison on a personal level
The others were too busy fangirling over addison and the cirugy to care
Love, tenderness, forgiveness...so beautiful💖
Her character is written soo well. Although Kate Walsh left Addison nearly a decade ago, she played her like she was still a part of the show: so realistic
I miss old grey ! I miss Dereck . This love story was the most epic
Do like I do and watch the series again. And Again....
I am laying in the puddle of my tears! 😭 This show! These actors! They deserve a fuckin' Emmy every single year!
Come back Derek! 😭
I needed this closure, thank you Ellen and Kate for giving us this closure 🥰
When she said she would love if she meet the kids. Thats when i started crying.
The role of her life. For Kate Walsh and Ellen Pompeo also!
They can do another 100 movies and tv series! They will forever be Addison Montgomery and Meredith Grey
TELL ME WHY I DROPPED THIS SERIES BACK IN 2019 AND YET HERE I AM SOBBING MY EYES OUT
The way their relationship developed to this point, though sad, is nice to see. Because they both knew Derek at different points in his life. Meredith knew that Addison lost him too, more than once.
Elevators can do Romedy and Emotion..
I'm not crying, my eyes are just sweating 😭😭! This has to be my all time favorite episode so far of the season!
I think everyone forgets that even though the situation with Addison and Derek and Meredith wasn’t great in the beginning but Addison did love Derek and you can tell from the scene she still had love for Derek 💖😖😭
I knew Kate Walsh would be worth popping into Grey’s for. I haven’t watched in forever, but here I am in tears.
Addie has always been the best character. Sorry not sorry. The way her mannerisms even mirrored Derek‘s in this scene. Kate Walsh is amazing.
Now I’m crying over Derek all over again 😭😭
I just remembered that Derek had proposed to Meredith in the elevator. So like imagine when Addison brought up Derek, all those memories of their important elevator rides came up. 😢
I was crying so hard at this scene 😭😭😭
All of us deary...😭😭😭😭
There's no one in this show who isn't a terrific actor. Kate and Ellen are brilliant.
How addie is not aging when meredith is looks so much different now?
Yes i agree addison didn’t change one bit
Meredith started looking different a long time ago, though. Maybe season 5 or 6. We all age differently 🤷♀️
Every person ages in a different way
They’re different people ….
Idk I know the actress who played Meredith has at least 2 kids and that changes a body. Idk about Addison’s actress.
This comeback is even better than I‘ve eber expected! Love these two so much together
Omg I did NOT expect to get so emotional when I watched this episode 😭😩…Addison and Meredith’s elevator scene…Addison meeting the kids…I loved it! but it was definitely a tear jerker lol
Beautiful scene made me cry like a baby
Addison elevates the show. ❤️
Addison and Meredith remembering Derek for me is the most touching moment of Grey’s Anatomy.
We needed this. Especially after the end of Private Practice it never felt right that we didn’t see how Addie was after Derek died.
This scene was so on point with Addison and Meredith’s complicated friendship. Love them! 💔😢
This scene made me cry so hard, and when she was meeting their kids.
take a bow, Chandra Wilson, for directing this ❤️
People seem to forget Addison was married to Derek way longer than mer. And he knew Addison befote th wit married too
They have one of the greatest story/character arcs and stories ever. So much history!
Addison is an amazing character, despite their situation being so complicated. They have both set aside their differences to bond over what they have in common.
Addison was with Derek as much as Mer did. Although there was a lot of things she did wrong, all of them did.
I love everything about this show. It’s one of the few things I have to look forward to each week.
They’ve come a long way 🥺😭
Addison loved Derek too. This scene was so strong. Meredith is such a beautiful character! I absolutely love both of them.
I need to start watching grey's again just for this scene.
I sobbed like a baby during this scene and them talking Derek made me 🥺🥺🥺 and their friendship is everything 🥰🥰
I hope Addison comes back. Jo needs a mentor after all...
I know Addison will probably never be able to fully forgive Meredith for her affair with Derek...
But I also know how much she really values her friendship with her. And I think meeting the kids really helped her in a way, to move on from everything that happened with Meredith and Derek.
Addison has no room to be mad about the Affair, she cheated first
@@JayBeeIRL But she realised she made a mistake with Mark and tried for years to get Derek back and realised he wanted Meredith.
she says Meredith is the one actually going through but I don’t think she realizes that she spent most of her life with Derek, she is going through it as well. maybe not in the same way of Meredith but she is definitely going through it as well
Meredith is the widow.
I watched Private Practice first 10 years ago and went throught more than 20 times. I didn't know Grey's Anatomy for 10 years and I've finished whole seasons recently. Feels like every little things connected together one by one by every episodes.
Love the fact that this scene took place in the elevator. It's hard coming to terms over someone's death when you weren't physically there.... it's like you expect to come back and still see them. Meredith comforting Addison as she comes to terms is everything 😭👏🏼
This was everything we needed 😢❤️
