Getting ready for the upcoming first growing season would you recommend putting feelers out there to restaurants to see if they are interested in your crop even if they wouldn't be ready for 3+ months? I feel like it could be beneficial to get an idea of how many pounds weekly to aim for.
you just do not want to over promise and under deliver. If there is no competition in your area then you should have no problem picking up clients
How do you package your mushrooms when selling to restaurants? Just open in a carton or bagged up?

Hey Brian. How do you select and approach restaurants you don't know? I have been struggling to sell it to restaurants, out of every 10 restaurants I visit I get one buying and most likely they won't call back to ask for more. I'm sure quality, freshness and boxing/packaging is not the problem.
I started approaching the restaurants by simply showing up, most of them simply despised me as for them I'm just another guy trying to sell them something. So I changed strategy and start calling to see if they wanted me to pass by and show the product, got I little better but still sucks. I live in a 3 million people city and can't sell more than 15lbs a week. I would love to know how do you guys sell it that easily and in those volumes.
