- Thanks to Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism, we got to visit Bali and Jakarta! Here we did the sea walk at one of the beaches in Bali. :D It was one of my favorite parts of the trip!! It makes me want to go scuba diving, although I imagine that's probably a lot harder!
Things to keep in mind if you ever want to try this:
1. The water pressure can hurt your ears a LOT. If you're congested at all, or have a cold, you're not supposed to go! Jun had to go up earlier because one of his ears hurt too much.
2. The air running through the helmet is pretty thin. By the end of it I felt short of breath and was more than ready to get out of the water!
3. I got bit by a fish, and I saw someone else before me who got bit, too, so... that happens.
4. The wait was REALLY long. After they gave us a ride to the pontoon station thing, we waited about an hour for our turn.
5. You have to share wet suit and water shoes and everything with everyone else. It was a little icky. D:
But all that said... it was still worth it!! The divers were super professional and they came right up to Jun and got him out of the water when he wanted to go up. They also have options for scuba diving if you want to do that instead. I really want to try that!

+TrueFireAnt He wasn't able to get one of his ears to pop. Because the pressure was pretty different down there, I imagine an unpopped ear would be pretty painful!

I would love to do this,,,,, but " Whats that thing?" NO WAY!!!! I am sooooo terrified of the whole look into the depths where you can't see shit and watch monster ass fish come and eat you. We gave no idea of exactly what is in the ocean. Thanks for sharing. Closest I'll ever get to doing it.

I love little man-made areas like that. Humans get to visit sealife where they live without destroying nature's work.
It's great that the helmet was heavy! Not only will that keep it on your shoulders steadily while you're underwater but it keeps you from getting knocked around by the waves! Safety first!!!!
The underwater Buddhas are a nice touch. Very cool video.

Literally gasped and squealed with joy when you had a flock of butterfly fish spinning around you, that was just pure magic!!

Scuba diving is a lot more technical than underwater walking since you have to do EVERYTHING yourself xD but it's very rewarding! Too bad Jun can't get his ears to pop, perhaps he went in too fast. Glad you enjoy our sea!

They had something like this when I went to Mexico, my ears hurt too much so they gave me a snorkel mask and fins and I got to watch all the fish from above. Still pretty cool

Jun I know it's too late for this but on the chance you ever go scuba-diving or have another underwater walk like this, there are two other effective ear pressure equalizing techniques you can use to stop your ears from hurting:
1. Move your lower jaw left and right(I don't use it but it works for some people)
2. Holding your nose shut then blowing while still holding. If you do this one normally you'll feel like air is trying to come out of your ears, but underwater it is (for most people) the most effective way to stop your ear from hurting :)
If you guys enjoyed this I recommend going for an intro scuba-dive if they are available in Japan.

Scuba isn't hard at all! :D It's so much fun! And no helmets! :D You can dive some really cool ship and plane wrecks if you get your certifications :) It's so neat!!

I tried diving in the same spot in bali, but i got runny nose when this happened, my nose liquid go up, and i got a really bad headache, such a waste 😢😢
Ahh you got bit by a fish!! I actually live on the south coast of the US and whenever i go swimming in deeper water, the little fish like to nibble at my feet. It's scary but funny, until another fish decides to go for a bigger bite!
That looked so fun though, I want to do that now but my mom would be so angry since she got hurt really bad scuba diving.

i've went snorkeling twice both in indonesia (yes i am indeed indonesian) and the water in bali is not as clear in the other one i went snorkeled at (its Pramuka Island if im not mistaken). Its probably bcs of trash :(

first i thought you went diving! But this seems pretty nice! I did my diving course in australia, and they teach you very well how to equalize and deal with hurting ears, and you go way deeper and just nicely swim around! Would definitely reccommend that! :D

All my life living in Indonesia and I have never tried sea walking because my mom wouldnt allow me and i still dont have enough money yet to do this, but this is definitely going to my bucket list xD

With the helmet on, is your head/face under water as well? How do you breathe?
+Letters from Japan The helmet always has air in it, and I assume they pump in new air through the tube at the top. But it wasn't quite enough because I was definitely starting to feel like I wasn't getting enough air by the end! That part was kinda scary haha
Bad news, some accident happen if you doing this, when i snorkling to the base, a tourist almost drowned because she was panicked from lack of air and want to remove her helmet, UNDERWATER! The divers immediately help her, fortunately she was okay, i want to help but i am afraid i will do worse because i dont know the procedure so i just cant help by watching her and told other diver to help her, at least 5 diver must do the job

Nice to knew that you enjoyed the trip, i was there like two years ago and i dont do the sea walking because it's not challenging but i do snorkling and diving in the exact same spot, the first time diving i feel like enter a new world under water, so much to learn, and after that i dont have enough yet, i tried snorkling, because i can swim and dive well i just love to hold my breath like a minute and do diving to the bottom without the oxygen tube lol the ear water pressure could be handle if you could train it before entering the water, the point is to close both your nosehole with your hand and blow hard as you can till you can hear a pop up sound from both of your ears, then you can repeat the step underwater
And yes, the fish sometimes bit me too, i dont even give them any bread, maybe my brown like bread skin confuse their eyes lol

Perhaps the guide didn't mention this but you can pinch your nose when your ears hurt too much. Mine did when I went to do this and I asked to go up but was told to do that, and the pain quickly disappear. I hope you'll be able to do it again in the future. Great video!

Went to Bali multiple times but never got the chance to do these awesome things (this, diving/snorkeling, even the more simple one like banana boat) because we were broke lol (in IDR/Indonesian Rupiah the prices are rather expensive, actually). And now we can't go there because of this recent situation 😭 hope we can visit Bali again someday 🥺

i tried this too and forced myself even if my ears hurts alot and it hurts for like a week 😯 but it was fun!
My dad use to do deep sea sponge diving when he lived in greece many years ago they wore diving helmets like those but brass not purple lol
that is so cool, wanted to do this with my daughter but she has closed space issues.
