Some people can't necessarily make good decisions and when they do they turn back to the bad decisions they've made previously. It's easier to hide who you are when you're ashamed of yourself or just genuinely hate yourself. Even if the kids who decide they're gay later in life weren't abused, they would still likely be gay. I had the opposite experience - I had a really good upbringing and my parents were always there for me and very supportive, and I had no major trauma and I turned out gay anyway.
I got catfished by my best friend at the time and she made me think I was talking to her cousin, I had a fake relationship with this boy for 9 months. Turns out, it was her and she just brought it up one day during casual conversation. I left her house and never talked to her again. Be careful. You could be catfished by anyone.

I coped by being promiscuous for a few years but as soon as I started really confronting my pain and working towards healing and not perpetuating the cycle of unhealthy connection, I started really not being able to be with anyone intimately at all. Now I’m working towards a balance of the two. It’s tough but rewarding when I catch myself being open enough to receive good love and brave enough to say no.

Even if the kids who decide they're gay later in life weren't abused, they would still likely be gay. I had the opposite experience - I had a really good upbringing and my parents were always there for me and very supportive, and I had no major trauma and I turned out gay anyway.

I coped by being promiscuous for a few years but as soon as I started really confronting my pain and working towards healing and not perpetuating the cycle of unhealthy connection, I started really not being able to be with anyone intimately at all. Now I’m working towards a balance of the two. It’s tough but rewarding when I catch myself being open enough to receive good love and brave enough to say no.

1. 20 years old with at least partial custody of your younger sibling.
2.
