Have you tried setting up your own VPN? How did it go? 🤔
🔥Share files, play LAN games, and set up your own VPN with Meshnet 🔥

turned on meshnet noew what ?? do i do can i have it on two devices
Hey, so we've been trying to play LAN games together, but we can't seem to find our sessions in the games. We've tried setting up a mesh network with traffic routing, file sharing, and remote access,(all three of us) but still no luck. What options do we need to have selected to make this work?
Hey, currently Meshnet does not support broadcasting. What this means is that you will have to connect the session/server directly as it won’t show in a server or session browser. Make sure you use the Nord name or Meshnet IP address of the server.
Interesting video but what is the advantage of this approach compared to a commercial vpn? You lose anonymity and still have to pay (for the clouid hosted virtual server) so what's the gain?
With certain VPS providers (namely Oracle) there is an "always free" tier, so hosting your own VPN would be absolutely free. And while this approach does not provide you with the exact features of a commercial VPN, it's still better than no VPN.
Now with Netflix they limit the number of up that you can stream from like in different household. You will have issues connecting. Netmesh will be your friend
how to enable these two
Allows Routing: disabled
Allows Local Network Access: disabled
i cannot do that neither on the site nor on the app.
is there any ssh command for it ?
These two permissions will have to be enabled on the routing endpoint (the VPS) for a specific client device. In order to do that via SSH you will have to use the following command: nordvpn meshnet peer routing allow . You can read more about the permissions via this link: meshnet.nordvpn.com/features/explaining-permissions/traffic-routing-permissions
Looks like NordVPN dedicated IP can help us to host our home-server (self-hosted) to public network!😮
Is there any limitations? I mean I use a broadband internet connection that gives me dynamic ip & they are not offering any static IP 😢
The dedicated IP feature is geared towards outgoing traffic. If you're looking to access your local network remotely Meshnet is what you need for that.
Using VPS to access websites, will the VPS use NordVPN?
If your VPS is secured with NordVPN then yes, it will use NordVPN.
Can you add devices in your Meshnet even they are not NordVPN users?
Yes. Meshnet is a free feature of the NordVPN app and does not require active subscription to NordVPN services.
Is there any speed different of the meshnet between with the subscription and without subscription? Thanks@@NordVPN_Meshnet

Many thanks for the videos. Can you please make a video who explains how we install Nordvpn on Linux ? Distro like Debian or Linux Mint ? Many thanks for your help. I have Nordvpn on my Windows 10, on my smartphone Android, but I can't install on Linux. I don't know the good way ( I saw 2 different methods on your Website... so 1 method official can be good and enough). Many thanks
Hello! While we don't have a video tutorial on how to install NordVPN on Linux yet. We do have a very thorough guide in our documentation, here's the link: meshnet.nordvpn.com/getting-started/how-to-start-using-meshnet/using-meshnet-on-linux
I will save a lot of time to the poor dudes that will look at this video. It is a 8.15 long ad for NordVPN and DigitalOcean. The dude in this video is reading a long script without understanding anything he reads.
Thanks for the feedback, and I’m sorry to hear that you did not find anything valuable in the video.
I research the topics and write the scripts for all recent Meshnet videos myself. Is there any specific information you were looking to get from the video that I missed? I was fairly sure that I covered everything, but I am happy to identify areas for improvement.
