    I ordered 1 Manta M5P, a 7" touch screen, 3 CB1 and 2 PI4B on 4/10 and received the shipment today 4/19. Pretty quick! The Manta and screen go on a Flying Bear Reborn 2 to try input shaping to get better surface quality. Ordered directly from BTT.

    • @TheFeralEngineer
      @TheFeralEngineer  9 месяцев назад

      Console and serial are for the pins that let you drive your machine from uart or use the same pins to debug the board. That should have no bearing on HDMI. Did you try uncommenting the additional resolutions?

    • @Armor3dprinting
      @Armor3dprinting 9 месяцев назад

      @TheFeralEngineer ok thanks. That part was a little confusing for me. I will add the extra resolution and try that. It honestly seemed as though the screen was shorting the pi out or blocking it from functioning. The screen works perfect if I plug it into my laptop.

      @TheFeralEngineer  9 месяцев назад +1

      I've not seen where on the bigtreetech version, they sit within the screen, as you say. Either way, you can get 90 degree HDMI cables that cut down on how much it sticks out from the side of the unit. There are other screens out there with a more convenient cable layout, but the 5" mounted in portrait view almost looks factory

    CAUTION
    I had two problems getting a PI4B/CB1 running. One small, one not.
    Small problem. Intermittent connection to HDMI. The stiff cable and heavy connector plus adapter cause an intermittent connection to the microHDMI on the PI4B.
    Big problem. I run Mint Cinnamon. I powered my 7" touch screen by plugging the USB into my workstation. While troubleshooting my connection issue I was touching and tapping and sliding on the touchscreen. My workbench is at 90 degrees to my desk. I didn't notice that the touchscreen had taken over my desktop. F*&#. I managed to send my home dir and everything under it to the bit bucket. I will never again be irritated by backing-up.
