I’m a huge fan of Fringe Sport and what they do! Love how they continue to level up their product line with equipment that makes sense for home gym owners!
Titanium nitride or TiN coating as we call it is used on some of our cutting tools at work. We have since upgraded and went to much better coatings. But we use it for cutting steel. So im sure its strong as hell for this application.
@@GarageGymLifeMedia Any update on how durable titanium nitride is as a sleeve coating? I've read a couple of anecdotes online about the finish rubbing off. Also, Pete mentions that the bar is cerakote but on the website it says it's black powder coat, I wonder which is correct?
No sorry I don’t have anything with titanium nitride coating in my gym so I would have to ask the other content creators who attended HomeGymCon to see if any of them have the Midas Bar etc.
The sleeves look too short on the open trap. Are they removable? If they’re fixed I’m guessing they chose to make them that short to save on shipping. Should be 15-16” and they don’t look more than 12” from the video.

My impression is that it’s less likely to bend and I’m interested to see what the scratch resistance is on it over time.

you should check out REPs open trap bar. It has the knurling on the top

Shipping is usually the reason. That’s why Bells of Steel uses short sleeves so I imagine it’s a similar reason.
