I live here in Canada B.C. We get a lot of rain, wind, and lightning. My favorite, is whenever the power would go out and my mom would order Chinese food. And when it arrived, we would all be sitting around the dimly lit candles as we listened to the rain. Ugh such great memories. I miss it.

When I was a little girl we drove from California to The Oregon coast. we lived in a camp ground and my brother and I slept in a Volkswagen bus with a cozy warn bed and I remember listening to the rain on the roof, I was so happy and cozy, the sound was soothing. I didn’t care we were poor, because I had a mom who loved me and a warm bed, I was the richest kid around as far as I was concerned.

This is the only thing that puts me to sleep. For a few years after the deaths of my parents (they died within 6 months of each other) I couldn’t sleep. I would stay up until I would become so tired, I would succumb to sleep. I couldn’t sleep without the tv on. I guess it made me feel there were people around me. You see, I’m totally alone in the world, as everyone in my family has passed away. I’ve never felt so alone as when the person I came through, no longer existed. I still miss them, but I guess when you’re the baby, you have to expect you will bury everyone Anyway, thank you for this beautiful bit of rain. It’s so soothing.

Bonnie Bruce awww, thank you for taking the time to write that. We were very close and I loved being in their presence. Every year I would go spend a month with them. They lived out in the country so there was nothing to do but hang out with them. I’d usually go in the Summer when none of my siblings would be around, so I’d have Mother and Daddy all to myself. It was so fun and over the 15 years I spent this kind of time with them, I heard the best stories, finding out things about them I had never known. Their story of meeting, overcoming major social obstacles, choosing each other and building a life, raising a family in a difficult time, is amazing. My sister told me at Daddy’s funeral, “You have the best of both of them in you.” I ❤️ that!

I'm with you. Thanks for these encouragement. I have a zoom conference this morning with 3 Professors and an oncologist about our idea for an antiviral against Covid. We have been doing a lot of research in the lab, killing a lot of coronavirus using virucidal botanicals. We now want to see how this works on people. But working on this is quite stressful. Not your usual job.

There are a billion examples of negative stress that happen to all of us every day... and it's both physically and psychologically impossible to just switch off to both past and pending future events! The body doesn't work like this... and wasn't built this way - although of course "stress reduction" is completely possible! Yup! I'm a specialist in Exercise Physiology... but all this is just common sense! I lost my father at age 12. My best friend passed away when we were 19. My mom died from cancer at 59. My ex girlfriend died from a brain tumor at 35 years old. Life can sure have a certain way of testing us. Although I've lost so many loved ones, I just turned 40 years old myself. Yet, I woke up this morning and thanked God for the opportunity to tell you that you're perfect just the way you are and although times get tough and life seems unfair just know that you are loved no matter what.

I'm really trying so hard not to, I have my 3 year old son to think about, but, I tell you it's not been easy 😞. It's hard finding proper child care on a small wage, let alone being able to find stable housing, in a market even for RENT people are greedy 😞😞 But I PROMISE I WON'T GIVE UP!!

I have a lot of anxiety and lately i be having some "anxiety attacks" and it's hard for me to sleep, sometimes i even start sweating. but I've been searching in youtube for like "ocean sounds", "rain sounds", etc.. and it actually helped me a bit, I can sleep now. hopefully we can trough this soon and stay safe yall, good night🙏🏻🇵🇹✊🏼
I've had these and took all kind of medication. I was reading that they were impossible to cure, and one only learns to control them when they hit (breathing and such). Both helped, but turned out I healed completely by changing my mindset about life, expectations about myself, and being at peace with who I am, where I am, embracing gratitude. I hope you will also the root cause and heal!
My favorite childhood memories were listening to rain at my grandparents farm early in the morning while listening to them cook breakfast and talk quietly. Even now I can almost smell the whole milk bacon and huckleberry pancakes.

There’s always something to do, someone to call, somewhere to go, work to finish. But what’s more important to me is taking life slowly and actually enjoying myself instead of being pressed for time on my own life. I live here in Canada B.C. We get a lot of rain, wind, and lightning. My favorite, is whenever the power would go out and my mom would order Chinese food. And when it arrived, we would all be sitting around the dimly lit candles as we listened to the rain. Ugh such great memories. I miss it.

When I was a little girl we drove from California to The Oregon coast. we lived in a camp ground and my brother and I slept in a Volkswagen bus with a cozy warn bed and I remember listening to the rain on the roof, I was so happy and cozy, the sound was soothing. I didn’t care we were poor, because I had a mom who loved me and a warm bed, I was the richest kid around as far as I was concerned.

This is the only thing that puts me to sleep. For a few years after the deaths of my parents (they died within 6 months of each other) I couldn’t sleep. I would stay up until I would become so tired, I would succumb to sleep. I couldn’t sleep without the tv on. I guess it made me feel there were people around me.
You see, I’m totally alone in the world, as everyone in my family has passed away. I’ve never felt so alone as when the person I came through, no longer existed.
I still miss them, but I guess when you’re the baby, you have to expect you will bury everyone

We were very close and I loved being in their presence. Every year I would go spend a month with them. They lived out in the country so there was nothing to do but hang out with them. I’d usually go in the Summer when none of my siblings would be around, so I’d have Mother and Daddy all to myself. It was so fun and over the 15 years I spent this kind of time with them, I heard the best stories, finding out things about them I had never known.
Their story of meeting, overcoming major social obstacles, choosing each other and building a life, raising a family in a difficult time, is amazing.
My sister told me at Daddy’s funeral, “You have the best of both of them in you.” I ❤️ that!

I lost my father at age 12. My best friend passed away when we were 19. My mom died from cancer at 59. My ex girlfriend died from a brain tumor at 35 years old. Life can sure have a certain way of testing us. Although I've lost so many loved ones, I just turned 40 years old myself. Yet, I woke up this morning and thanked God for the opportunity to tell you that you're perfect just the way you are and although times get tough and life seems unfair just know that you are loved no matter what.

I've had these and took all kind of medication. I was reading that they were impossible to cure, and one only learns to control them when they hit (breathing and such). Both helped, but turned out I healed completely by changing my mindset about life, expectations about myself, and being at peace with who I am, where I am, embracing gratitude. I love simple things like the sound of rain instead of music sometimes. I feel like everything is always so fast paced and obnoxious and sensory overloaded in our society today. There’s always something to do, someone to call, somewhere to go, work to finish. But what’s more important to me is taking life slowly and actually enjoying myself instead of being pressed for time on my own life. Your life shouldn’t be used up by other people taking your time, please take care of yourself and be happy.
Sophie B... I recently purchased a flip 5 bluetooth speaker then listen to soothing meditative music, Enigma music has been running on my phone for over a week now. But it has boiled down to this.. the simple sound of rain and distant thunder. 😍
