$2,500,000 BARN FIND - Lamborghini Miura Time Capsule
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 12 янв 2017
- This is a different kind of story than we typically feature here on 1320Video...a $2.5 million dollar Lamborghini Miura barn find! This is a story of a man that spent his whole working life saving up for what he dubbed his dream car - a Lamborghini Miura. Earl was his name, and he loved this car. In old age, Earl drove the Miura less and less until the point it sat for 15 years without any attention. That is, until Jeff showed up at his doorstep. Jeff had been obsessing about finding a Miura and when Earl revealed to Jeff what he had sitting in his dusty old garage, Jeff’s life was changed forever. These rare exotic supercars are definitely a diamond in the rough! The unique bit about this story is that this vehicle is truly a time capsule in and of itself. This Lamborghini is all original from 1969, however it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor!

This is by far the best video I've ever seen on this channel and I'm not even half way through.
yup its so goood bro!
TheOne AndOnly
Agreed. 1320, you need to make more vids like this.
TheOne AndOnly i agree great story and an awesome guy
I concur, best content yet. Even better than other channels that review cars, this was excellent because of the story. Great upload!
This is pretty refreshing isn't it. I would love to see more like this.
I have I picture somewhere of me getting out of this exact car. My grandpa was earls best friend. I have a lot of fond memories of listening to earl tell stories.
Thats amazing man! We would love to see the photo and share it if you're interested. Go to our website and click the "contact us" link, or shoot us a message on RUclips!
-Kyle
isn't it amazing what the internet does? just for a moment consider the chances of this "meeting" here...mindboggling
1320video you guys should start doing barn yard finds like this more often. Especially when you go overseas but not touched like this one. If anyone disagrees they are not true car people.
Christopher Callahan you shouldve inherited this car
1320video I have the photo. It is at my parents house. Will get back to you soon.
This bring tears to my eyes man... Not sure why, maybe out of my pure admiration for the two gentlemen happened to find one another before it is too late.
Valcon, you right. I thought the same thing listening to him. He pestered that old man for 5 years. Listened to the old man's stories while in the back of his mind probably didn't give a shit what he had to say. Shame on him. Hope it catches on fire. Probably a Democrat.
Man! What an outstanding story and car! Well done Jeff for saving some history and the 1320Video for bringing us the story.
+Ray Jay Glad you liked it sir!
1320video awesome video, is nice that you have such a nostalgic retro piece of driving machinery! I have one just like yours except is colored yellow and is a hot wheels! LOL 😁👍✌
did you just assume rays gender?!
What a legend. So cool he hasn't restored it. not one of the people who want a "perfect" car
AND HE ACTUALLY DRIVES IT. Not like the idiots who don't want to get a spec of dirt on there cars
Johnny H Exactly cars are meant to be driven. And an occasional ding here and there
he drives it doubt he does so everywhere because like he said it can be damaged. imagine having it robbed or wrecked might as well have some cyanide ready for such occasion
Heart of Justice I'd daily the fuck out of it
Awesome video. I wish there was more about Earl. I bet he had some stories.
+CaptainXanax Agreed! We were fortunate to get the information we did
Thank you for you hard work we are mostly car guys we only find someone like him once or twice in a life time.
yeah. sounds like a really classy guy
Amen.
I just cried. I hugged my Diablo poster! Thanks for sharing!!!
love how he drives it hard like its suppose to be driven!
atleast he's not scared to drive it
Probably has insane insurance on the thing. If it does wreck it will be just like someone bought it from him.
Chris S. how does that work? are his premiums astronomical?
*****
It's probably out the ass astronomical! Maybe tens of thousands a month? I have never owned or insured something like that before but I would imagine if totaled they would give him at least close to the appraisal value.
I really can't imagine tens of thousands a month. I think the most exotic supercars can run around $50,000 a year. It depends on how much you choose to insure it for. If you have a Veyron you might insure it for $3,000,000, or you might insure it for half of that to keep the premiums from being astronomical. It is an interesting question, though, as this guy seems to be an "average" fellow who saved up and bought a rare car from an estate and then had the value skyrocket. I doubt he's paying $50k a year, but I wouldn't be that surprised if he were paying something like $10k/year. Maybe someone will ask him.
He's probably not paying that much, classic car insurance rates are way lower than brand new exotic cars that this one would compare to.
Glad to see American's appreciating something that isn't some generic Chevy block powered muscle car.
Shaun Hutchinson who wouldn't love this cmon guys especially a love story such as this
Shaun Hutchinson lol very true, the only reason I got my R/T is a cause I work at a construction site and there's no way I was driving an S5 in there lol
Ro Formance ss or s5
***** but she whatv does that have to do with anything
Tyler Wallace 2008 Audi S5, too nice for that lol
Great video. My father owned a 1968 Lamborghini Miura S that was one of the 3 original Lamborghini P400 SV Prototypes. He bought the car from Jake Kaplan in Rhode Island in 1972. My fathers car was a gift from Ferruccio Lamborghini to Jake Kaplan in 1970. There were 3 SV Prototypes, one was a gift to the West Coast Dealer for Lamborghini and the other was the first car and that was Certified by Lamborghini as being the one my father owned. It was a 1968 P400 Miura S that was the development platform for the SV cars. The final SV prototype was a later car, likely a 1970 car was crash tested as a rebranded S car branded as an SV in order to bring the SV models to the US market. All of the prototype cars were branded S models but all with factory SV upgrades confirmed by the larger intake and exhaust valve sizes. My father's car was unique in that included 12 single stack Weber Carbs rather than the 6 double stacks or the 4 triple stacks of the final SV cars. My father was a Master Mechanic but used to complain that it took days to tune his car since you had to balance each stack and test the car and fiddle with it some more. My father sold his car back in the early 1980s to a doctor or dentist here on the East Coast. I understand that it is still in his collection. You should contact the factory since the West Coast prototype was ORANGE and from the carb layout on yours I can't tell if you have the other unique carb layout the West Coast car had. The East Coast Car (the one my father owned) was RED. I am not sure what color the car was that was the crash test car. Jake was a great guy. My father paid a little over $13,000 for the car in 1972, about $75,000 in todays money. I understand from a friend that the doctor that owns my Dad's car now was offered $5M for it and he turned it down. I enjoyed the video.
Gordon Miller hey its the guy from quora
Gordon Miller thanks for the novel. No one cares
Nice
Trent Harder apparently 74 people care
Jake Kaplan is a dick for selling a gift lmao
Stunning video. It's not about money for this bloke-it's the history, provenance, maintaining such beauty, engineering integrity in what can be a harsh, distorted world. He likes to share these attributes with folk. God bless him & the maker of this video. Thank you so much.
if this guy has a daughter, I'm about to marry into the family and alter his will.
REALthugnasty Smart man.
REALthugnasty it's funny because if anyone says this is fucked up. It's the same shit he did to get the car. Basically befriended him cause he knew he'd get the car lol
Befriended him because he knew he'd get the car? He bought it after the guy died, wasn't given to him.
NoOneImportant556 ...plus or minus a few MIL spent ..
he clearly didn't do a good job of wooing him, if he didn't give it up to home prior to his death.
Well he sure as shit wooed his Mrs then.
Big appreciation to the 1320 team for this epic video! Thumbs up from from South Africa
+Trino Pillay Thanks for your support Trino!
Trino Pillay dude you from sa same
*For anyone wondering $20,000 in 1966 is roughly worth $148,757.86 in today's Money.*
fiat dollar devaluation, the fiat dollar is on its way out just like every other fiat dollar
to be replaced with?
bitcoin
So in 1966, though expensive, it was a bargain.
@@dirkbag22 Something people dont notice is that old cars didnt have anything but an engine and 4 wheels. New cars cost a lot cuz you can go straight into a wall and not die while being warm and listening to spotify.
it almost makes me cry I'm so happy that such an incredible car is ACTUALLY DRIVEN! instead of stuffed in a showroom to never see the road. such a beautiful car, good for this man!
Thumbs up if you wanna see some of these style videos added in more! This was awesome well done on finding unique stuff all the time 1320!
jon doe I think they did one like that already. Some guy with cancer and having his dream car as a GTR
Cleto im pretty sure that was a guy with a evo
PROPHECY it was a orange Lw kit gtr
billary blinton maybe im thinking about anither video
PROPHECY yeah I know what one your talking about tho it was the grey and red evo 9
Such a great video, RIP Mr. Earl. A true car guy
Looks like the car ended up finding a good home. This owner clearly has a real passion and respect for the car and its history and importance to the Lamborghini heritage. The original owner clearly loved that car too what a great story and great find.
This makes me Proud to be a gear head , the love and passion we all have for our machines Cars/Bikes. The stories and hard work that goes into making and maintaining these beautiful machines doesn't come easy but it comes from the heart.
What a great story and what a stunning-looking car!
my favorite part was 0:00 to 19:48
MrTechKid same
LOL thanks buddy, glad you guys enjoy the video!
1320video this video was awesome. you could tell how much not only the car, but it's history and previous owner mean to the guy. he sounded like he was just about in tears as he was goin through that photo album
This was amazing. Only thing was the soppy music a bit much
Yup amazing.... wow
So much respect to this guy that not only loves and respects the car but also drives it like its stolen. So respectful.
The Miura. THE emblematic sport car of the 60s. Unmatched in beauty. Great story to get along with this automobile masterpiece.
Wow what a cool story thanks for sharing. I'd like to see more videos like this.
you know you have a badass car when the Lamborghini dealership rearranges their showroom for you
Perhaps the most beautiful car ever designed.
I absolutely love this guy. He drives the hell out of it. He is a car guy. He understands why us car guys love cars. They are meant to be experienced. Thanks great video. Thumbs up.
I love it when wealthy people aren't cocky pricks.
he isnt wealthy? he even said himself he couldnt afford it. he bought it cheap? now worth something doest mean because you have a 2 and a half million dollar car you have a 10 million dollar house
"Mate, there's a barn find rumor of a old Lamborgini somewhere near Sisteron"
Thanks for doing this video, I have been a fan of 1320 for a long time. That was one of the best stories I've watched on the Miura. True survivor in the hands of a modest owner.
This car is a museum worthy vehicle, especially with the awesome story connected to this car. Amazing.
Earl sounds like a really great guy. Rip old man
I know Earl before he passed on...and he had no heir...I am still wondering what the new owner is going to do with his 800 acres ranch that he bought it for only 1.5 million from the estate!
Hope Lamborghini gave this man some type of award for owning this
Love this story. His struggle to acquire the vehicle is worth the reward. Congratulations on ur conquest. Please never sell it. Let the collectors drool at what they wish they had. The documentation of the story is priceless.
Who in the right mind would dislike this? This guy saved the car and kept the spirit alive, the original owner would be smiling
You guys run the car scene on RUclips! The quality is so good !
+Mystic Mark Thanks Mark!
Amazing story! So inspiring! As an OG subscriber I feel it is safe to say this is one of the best videos you have done. Kyle you brought your A game on this one brother!
Thanks buddy! It was a very exciting story to tell, I had so many questions I had a hard time choosing which to ask. Amazing machine, amazing story
Very classy. A worthy tribute to some great men who have preserved a legendary vehicle. My hat is off to you.
One of my favorite videos. I come back and watch it every now and then.
Not gonna lie, this video made me tear up a little.
OneTallOrder same
same :(
OneTallOrder Exactly!! so sentimental 💔
OneTallOrder Ditto. Especially when I heard this beauty come to life.
Me too man!
I loved this story. Excellent video and very heart felt.
Dude seemed pretty humble.
And greedy
I've met him briefly and viewed the car in LA. It's amazing and he's just what you see here. Very nice man.
@@mrvapor4791 Greedy how?
@@NorthAyase At least he took car of the car...the fiend.
That engine, is the juciest sweetest sound ive ever heard a car make, no lie.
This is the most beautiful video on this channel and i love the story so much 💚❤️
In the top 5 dream cars list for sure. Mclaren f1 , Miura, eb110ss, 250gto, xj220.
Absolutely amazing. What a love story. Instantly fall in love with these characters.
Truly the best car in the world.
glad to see someone who not only shows his car but drives it
What an incredible story. This is so beautiful, thank you so much for making and sharing this video. What an opportunity. God bless Earl and Jeff, and all the work done keeping this car in the shape that it is today. That is true automotive love, at its finest.
that's great that he documented the story behind the car and kept the memory alive even if the original owner isn't.....
What a great documentary. It's good to see that a down-to-earth kinda guy found this car. Someone who really appreciates and cherises it, instead of some billionaire who has 20 simular cars in his garage and hardly ever drives them.
One of the most gorgeous designs to ever be put on wheels. Simple, pure automotive art.
This is one of the best stories I have ever had the pleasure of watching! Thank you Earl and 1320 for this video! Amazing work!
What a nice man he is.. history preserved 👍
true car guy, huge props to him for not only driving it, but driving it like its meant to be driven.
Hands down the best looking and most legendary lambo ever. This was the beginning of the massive v12 flagships lambo built. Beautiful and that noise 😱😱
I found $0.25 in a barn once
I found some old Porno in the wall of a barn.
Was it your Mom riding a Horsey, Ha,ha,ha !!!!
Yes, but is it still in the original shape ? Weren't parts eaten by mice ? And did you keep photographs to proove you really found it in a barn, everyone can tekk he found 0,25 $ in a barn !
OffTheBeatenPath It must be worth 5k now.
I found shit in a barn and it smells like my brother
I met Jeff a couple times at some local car shows, really cool guy. This car won Best in Class last year at the Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance, just a testament to this amazing vehicle and the fantastic, original condition it is in.
The paint of this Miura just blows away any of the new Lambos. Seeing this car next to the other cars in the Lamborghini dealership just highlighted how special this car is. Just a slightly darker more saturated orange paint. Body design is timeless. What an amazing car and video!
The Miura was THE game changer for all supercars to come..... Totally visionary d e sign for the time
im sure earl is proud of this man
Amazing story. What a car!
5:05 hidden valley ranch. I LOVE THAT STUFF!!!!!!!
This is by far the best car video I've seen on RUclips. Too many people talk so much about all specs, how fast it goes from 0 to 60 and blah blah blah....so boring. This is an incredible story and great job with the editing.
next step UGR twin turbo package then off to tx2k😀
Tyler Hoeve you, I like your style
Tyler Hoeve nah
FYI: $20k in the 60s is worth $160k today.
becasue it has origional paint i wouldnt be suprised if it was worth 3-4 million dollars
woodie,he's converting the price when new to todays usd. not the current used value lol
So really not too insane of a price then. A friggin chevy truck can run you 95k these days!
I'm a classic car collector and that's a totally different situation, inflation on classic cars that were mass produced.
This is a supercar, a very rare Lamborghini plus you add the fact that how many are really left and the desire by rich folks, makes it well worth the 2 Million dollar range. It's the heritage and history of the of the Lamborghini and it's significance, that it will never lose value.
THIS guy knows what it means to be a "car guy". He loves this car with every fiber of his being and has put a lot into keeping this cars legacy alive. He doesn't want it to show off for himself, he wants to show it off for the car, and the old man he got it from. Such an awesome video.
That car would easily go for 5 times what the other one did because of the condition it has been kept into. Thanks to both Jeff and you guys for sharing this story!
Every time i see this car i think of the GT40 nice car tho i learned alot about it
a very elegant well made car, from a more civilized time when cars still looked unique and not like a aerodynamic carbon copy of another car
Kyle, I have been following your vids since you were hanging out with your first camera. You have done some awesome work as has your crew, but this is one of your best shoots to date. Please don't stop doing what you do, but if you find time to toss one of these in when you find them please do!!! Kudos, beautiful car.
Probably one of the coolest car stories I've found on RUclips.
i dont usually cry, but i cried after watching this
wow look at me my name is "Rover Waters", i have some cartoon character as my display and call anonymous people on the internet faggots to make myself feel better about my shitty life. Let me be as cool and manly as you bro
Man, at least I know I’m not the only one!
an actual car guy.
This is incredible. The story just makes this a thousand times better.
It's awesome to see this car ended up in the right hands. Two owners who will keep it till death.
Simply great
Amazing story. Now I sit here coming to the realisation that i will never own a Miura. Excuse me while i cry my self to sleep.
Loved this video Kyle!!! Was glued to the screen the whole way through and you documented it so well! Keen to see some more like it in the future! 1320 are killing the game.
Takes my breath away how beautiful it is.
Is no one going to comment on the fact it was called "Hidden Valley Ranch"?
When I visited Earl, I was eyeing on the ranch but not the Miura, even I've been a Lambo fan! With a friend I gave an offer on the ranch for 1.5 million and the other guy got the ranch and still have not done too much of that ranch after all these years.
now I'm back trying to take down the 883 acres ranch! Jeff's lambo is always welcome after I develop it!
I'm surprised Lamborghini themselves havent try to broker a deal with this guy to maintain ownership but lock the car in a museum in italy somewhere.
I'm not even into cars like that but this is fascinating. More the human aspect of love for cars, and the relationships between collectors/enthusiasts.Great work.
My dad had a white SV when I was a kid, we had it for around 2 years when he traded it for a 365 Boxer and although the Ferrari was a beautiful more refined car the Miura has something so special I just can’t put into words! It’s an icon of pure beauty. Thanks for the video.
This guy has to be the luckiest car guy in the world
This car is worth $3 million easy. With the steering wheel centered, $4 million.
A hell of a car - the restoration job done right, not even "restored" - more like "cleaned up" to its original state. Awesome.
I just took a dab and I gotta say, that was a crazy intense story all the way through. I hope this car stays within the family for generations to come. One of the coolest car stories I've heard in a while.
11:07 thats just heartbreaking :'(
Kcrawler RC truly is
crap, my favorite car with my favorite color!!!
Anyone else have OCD when he laid the photo album on the roof paint?
Joel Foreman no
+Joel Foreman
Yep....but the cover is soft vinyl so it likely won't do any scratching.
haha...i was thinking the same thing!
that's not what OCD is
Lol your not alone bud.
Thanks so much to Jeff for sharing his car with the public in this manner; this is, of course, not always the case. Also, kudos to him for not being afraid to drive it but Gahhh!!! It is terrifying to see that amazing machine go down the freeway surrounded by sheeple!!
man like no joke. i was glued to the screen. he had me so into the story that when i seen the one on fire, my heart sank
Needs a twin turbo LS swap
dilsher12 😂😂😂😂
dilsher12 put your ls in whatever you want.. But not into an Italian piece of art..
dilsher12 no.
dilsher12 No one would want to put in a slow garbage Ls into into it especially if they owned it.
...are you serious?
If You Put the subtitles on, It well say : “MUSIC”
When the engine of the Lamborghini Miura Starts...What a Funny Coincidence.
That is a great story! Earl would be very proud the car is being appreciated and enjoyed.
one of the best videos on youtube..1320 steps up the bar everytime .
Can the next video be of a guy talking about his Honda for 20 minutes
This is Wayne Carini worthy.
TheNewYork Reload "it's all about the chase!"
What a great owner... knowledgeable, but also down-to-earth and laid back.
