Not saying your wrong but I replaced all forks and 3 gear sets and still got a high volume of false neutrals in 5th and 6th. Done the factory pro star shift. Still no joy. BUT... I have completely irradicated all miss shifts and false neutrals .. worked out the problem by studying the job of every component in the shifting sequence. I won't tell anyone what I did as not one person was willing to help me. But thats because like you they were over thinking the issue. Took me about an hour and a half. And I'm not a mechanic. Good luck to anyone who has got the ghost gear issue. £40 sorts it

My '02 slips (false neutral) from 5th to 6th...scared the shhht out of me. I immediately squeeze in the clutch and pull over. Doesnt happen every time though... could it cause my tranny to lock up and kill me? Thanks
@@bryanlarrimer138 yeah. Finally found a video to explain. I dont lift the shifter enough and it gets stuck in between gears. Thought my gears were fkd but i remember that would happen on my other bike once in a blue. Def human error. Thanks for the response
Thanks for the video very informative I recently bought a 2017 busa with 1068 miles and it’s now at 3300 miles and the false 5-6 really freaked me out

When it happens just pull in the clutch and slow down then click it into 6th again
