Creating A Visual Tooltip In Power BI - Make Your Consumers Really Go Wow

- This is my most favorite new visualization idea inside of Power BI and I want to show you how far you can actually take this. This will definitely add so much value to your report, to keep your consumers engaged in very different ways.

This is a cool trick which I have used as well but just to share one "down side" that I've experienced with this tooltip is that if you left the Power BI on without refreshing the browser for a long time, the info on the main visual may not tally once information in the database changes.
Example is that the main visual shows the total number of any product type reserved and the tooltip shows the breakdown of customers who reserves the product being hovered on. There were times I realised the number on the main visual is different and after an F5 browser refresh, the number tallies. That is because the main visual does not automatically refresh if user just leave the browser on while the tooltip is always dynamic and gets the latest info from the refreshed database. Hope this makes sense and helps those who uses this trick but found discrepancies in their numbers.

Thanks for the tutorial. Unfortunately my issue here is - I wanna have my tooltip dynamically changing its height based on the content inside. In some of my tooltips there is a table with 20 rows and some has only 2. Is there any way to achieve this?

thank you for posting your query onto our channel.
Well as of now there's no development in that aspect of Power BI where it adjusts the height and width automatically of the tooltip. You can create a customized height and width accordingly as per your requirements in that case by selecting the "Custom" option under the "Page Size" menu.

Yes...I’m a subscriber to this channel...but the down side to this feature is that it does not work in dashboard.. it only works in report..I’ve submitted the issue to Microsoft but till now it has not been resolved..such a great feature but only works in report.

It's really a great sharing.. i tried and it's working well.. but i got an issue happened at the time when i create the dashboard and i share the dashboard, the tooltip it's not pop out. Just wondering if someone experienced the same issue with me... but again thank you for the sharing..👍👍👍👍👍
