Question. You have put a limit switch in and that is your cutoff to keep the car from coming to close to the ceiling. Well what happens when you want to bring the car down and the lift has to go up 2 inches and the limit switch is preventing the lift to go up to disengage the lock before coming down? How is that supposed to work ?
I would assume that you normally don't take it to that height being a safety and it would be set so it engages above a lock so with pressure released it goes down to the next lock down thus disengaging it. It would not be set to engage in a lock
This is nothing new Rich, all AMERICAN MADE , Rotary, Forward, BendPak, ETC, 4-post have a safety lock/ latch just in case the cable snaps. Been around for over 30 years! Nice video for newbies though. Great for home mechanics, but you will NEVER see these in Auto dealerships and or Auto Repair shop for a reason.
