Decorating for Christmas is so much fun when you have little kids. They love colorful lights and all the Christmas stuff. Nutcracker, Santa, reindeer, and nativity set. Every year I set up a Christmas village with lights and my kids loved it. The house was sparkly, colorful, and magical. The time was for them.
I remember my Grandma having a village set up and I always loved looking into it.

Dear Elizabeth ~ this is beyond a “Hallmark” Christmas Decor Room. You have put Hallmark to shame with your talent for decorating. This is stunning, absolutely stunning ! I knew it would be and you have gone above what I imagined. Well done ~ well done.
I love my garland like yours. I have all that now,along with wreaths and picks. Love it ! Just what my mind visualizes as “Christmas”. Draping cedar around windows and big doorways, big vases with picks drooping down and wreaths on doors, walls and in windows, along with floppy ribbon and gold/brass bells… perfect.
Our youngest daughter and our oldest granddaughter came “shopping “ to my home this past weekend. Less anxiety for me now that a room has been semi-cleaned out and a warm heart to think of how excited they were to take stuff. Makes a “mom/grandma” cry to think they love my decor and it will live on in their homes.

I used to love milk glass and I thought I was out of style by collecting it so I only have a few pieces left. But after seeing this I will definitely be on the hunt while out thrifting. Just stunning, your color choices were sobpretty, and those dripping berries 🥰 PERFECTION! I sat here wondering how many christmas trees had sat in that very spot with actual candles. I have a couple sets of the red clip on tree candles with the flickering flame. My best friend actually has 2 boxes of these amazing remake of Victorian ornaments her mom started buying them from her first Christmas in 1968 up until Nordstroms discounted them in the 90's. I drool over them. She is willing them to me so I atbleast have to outlive her by a few years😂 each ornament is about 8 inches and come in these amazing green & burgundy velvet jeweled top opening boxes...oops got carried away.
To me this is the perfect Christmas decor. Simple and meaningful. I love it.

It's so sweet to see and hear your excitement at pulling out your treasures after a whole year! I'm 4 months post knee replacement, so finally am remembering what it is to enjoy life again. Its the best (very early!) Christmas present. Might manage to decorate our home too now!

How incredibly beautiful, Elizabeth. I love how you’ve brought that classic, traditional, Victorian vibe to your home; making it so elegant, yet cozy at the same time. You’ve given it a fresh feel with all the vintage, without making it look like you’ve walked into a home where it’s been decorated that same way for the last 70 years (not that there would be anything wrong with that either). Nice that you haven’t fallen into any “trends”, but have stayed true to the era of your home with a touch of “today”. Beautifully done! Honestly, Hallmark set designers should take a queue from you. I’ve noticed that some of their scenes are really lacking. I kept thinking, “wow, that’s the best they could do with all their resources?!” 😂
