It is always exciting to see a plane land in my hometown, Mexico City. I have flown Aeroméxico 787 from NY to Mexico City before and it is a great airplane to travel to my homeland.
I remember that route when the Concorde landed every Wednesday and Sunday afternoon. All glasses on the buildings below shook just as during an earthquake, but if it was Wed or Sun we knew it wasn't an earthquake, but the Air France Concorde arriving.
2 little observations: they are landing in a mountainous region and neither pilot was using terrain function on their nav display and also the captain took her hand of the thrust levers in the flare and forgot to select reverse…
Hello from Uruguay. I can remember two flights I rode on with female pilots: in 2004 Pluna Airlines 737-200 MVD/ BUE Valeria Ramos, and in 2017 Copa Airlines 737-800 PTY/ SFO, Angélica Quintero -good pilots both of them.
For anyone wondering why they are speaking two langugues on ALL international flights English is required or you will not be a pilot. The Spanish is for local traffic you hear...
They are speaking english to ATC for the video. You can use the country’s main language (spanish) or english as an international aviation standard. It comes down to what you feel most comfortable with, and ATC is required to use either on a per aircraft basis. Many countries work like that, you go to Montreal in Canada and you can hear french and english. Down in Brazil you can hear portuguese aswell as english. Aeromexico usually talks in spanish to ATC as soon as they cross the border, just as Viva and Volaris do, regardless of it being an international flight. It’s easier to follow through for Just Planes if everything is done in english. Safe flights :3
Not just local , buddy!! Iberia(Spain) avianca( Colombia) Lanchile(chile) Aerolinas argentinas(Argentina) when they fly into mexico speak nothing bust Spanish and vice versa,Spanish is one of the official ICAO language, As a matter of fact An aeromexico flying from mexico city to let's say Santiago Chile won't probably have to use english at all but just Spanish since it's gonna fly over Spanish countries!!

The furthest you probably can go is in the regional airlines in the US and the majors are less likely to hire you because you would be around 60 by that time!
Professionals at work. I wish there was a greater effort to spark interest in aviation in young girls so more of them can become professional pilots like these two ladies
Saludos ¡¡¡¡¡
Congrats to these fine pilots. There is absolutely no reason why female pilots cannot be as essential as men. In fact, I would feel safer with a female pilot.
Very nice. I have a question. Once they are at the minimums and are about to touch down, are they using Instinct and or are they relying on the attitude coordinator to help ensure that the two main gears touch down first? Please let me know guys🤗😃.
Once at minimums the plane is very nicely established, attitude and speed wise, so it's eyes out of the cockpit from then on. On the 787 they're looking through the heads up display and that gives them excellent guidance queues. The 787 auto-throttles work right through touchdown as well, so at 30 feet altitude the throttles smoothly close as the pilot raises the nose another 2 or 3 degrees to arrest the descent.
@@andrewsmactips Ok. As they're raising the nose how do they know how far they are raising the nose? Are they looking at the attitude coordinator or going on instinct?
@@ronaldcuieii4775 You're looking at the shape and position of the runway, and near touchdown, shifting your attention to the far end, and controlling how quickly that sight picture changes from approach to touchdown through pitch control. You develop a feel for what looks and feels right. Just like you can slow you car smoothly to a stop at the traffic lights without thinking about how many pounds pressure you applied to the braking system. So -- instinct -- or more precisely skill and experience. With the HUD you see the pitch bars right the in front of you, which is great, but that's just a bonus.
Could be wrong, but I feel like that in particular was a reminder as the captain had both hands on the yoke and suddenly moved her right hand over to the reverse thrust levers.
It seemed like she waited for the nose wheel to touch down before engaging the reverse thrust. You can clearly hear the nose wheel touching down before she engages the reverse thrust. I read an article that read some airplanes tend to go nose-up when reverse thrust is deployed before the nose wheel touches down. Not sure if it applies to the 787.
They do pretty good because there are less things to hit or run into up in the air. Just kidding! Much respect to these fine ladies. True professionals.
Congratulations! You win the "Most Irrelevant Comment" and the "Check your spelling" awards! They are in Mexico, flying for a Mexican carrier and Spanish IS an accepted ICAO language!

When I started flying back in 1999, Just Planes was already there. 20 years later, you still inspire young pilots. Way to go JP!
Wow, how excellent and calm these 2 pilots were during this landing. I think it's a difficult approach. But these 2 nailed it. Bravo!!
Smooth landing, not realize the moment of touch dawn. Very professional pilots.
Is always exciting to watch a video of females flying, congratulations 🎉 I really enjoyed!

How long did you have to wait to get visibility that good there?
Did someone noticed as I did that the captain has delayed in thrust reverse, and she did only after the first officer told her to do?
Could be wrong, but I feel like that in particular was a reminder as the captain had both hands on the yoke and suddenly moved her right hand over to the reverse thrust levers.

Why did the captain delay engaging reverse thrust unti the FO mentioned it?
Long flight, Must have been tired! It could be one of the possible reasons.
It seemed like she waited for the nose wheel to touch down before engaging the reverse thrust. You can clearly hear the nose wheel touching down before she engages the reverse thrust. I always thought pilots couldn't use eyeglasses. The first time I notice one.
To start you must have 20/20 vision or better.
After you are rated, a pilot can wear glasses within a certain range.
Contacts of course are a no no.
@@lastmanstanding2622 you can pass the initial medical with glasses.
