      @nerfinator03 Breathing in large amounts of asbestos for long periods of time, ( i.e. ) working with it practically everyday in large amounts creates an unhealthy buildup in the lungs and respiratory system, there is no way to live an "asbestos free" life, many things we still use contains it, the best way to minimize exposure, do not disturb it or touch friable asbestos, which will release the fibers into the air

      @hajjdawood 8 лет назад +7

      +EvilShredder Half filled*. Half way through the consturction of one of the towers they switched over to a safer compound. However given asbestos amazing heat and fire resistance, some question if the tower was fully filled with asbestos if the fire would have damaged the trade centers as much.

    I’ve got question guys. The old school in our town were built with asbestos roof. Someone set it on fire. Everyone checked that in my town so do I. I was 60 meters and 30 minutes close to that burning building. Should I worry?

      Your probably fine, if you were out side and that far away. Besides, most people who die from asbestos exspousure worked with it for a long time, and even then its not a guarentee that you'll get sick.

      Excruciating pain, using the suit you may likely cough or itch a bit, but if you don't expose yourself to friable asbestos daily, it could take years for anything to occur to your breathing if at all. My Great Grandfather installed furnaces to heat hones, worked with asbestos regularly, on top of this, he smoked a pipe heavily in his younger years, he lived 93 years. Everyone has different tolerances, caution and taking precautions when working with or around hazardous materials is essential
