- A ride through Guinea to it's capital Conakry - with offroad excursions, friendly locals and some adventurous transports!
Saying goodbye to places you fell in love with is the worst part of traveling. But every day offers aw well a new beginning, a new journey, a new adventure. Follow me from the grasslands of Fouta Djallon to Guineas capital Conakry and the border of Sierra Leone.
When we left Labé and the Fouta Djallon region we realized, that even finding an ATM can be quite an adventure in Guinea. After we were able to pay our petrol again we hit some small roads, met friendly locals and went on a night ride to Guinea's capital Conakry to apply for another visa.
//NOTE: videos were recorded before I had a RUclips Channel - initially used for my Instagram stories. That's the reason for the close ups of my face - they were recorded vertically. I still decided to use them - that's the authentic footage I have and I can't change that anymore. Remember: I just started out with filming and cutting - its a learning curve and far from perfect! If you mind seeing my nose hair every now and then, I can highly recommend you to skip this part of the journey and join again when I will publish my next trips after the country Benin with hopefully improved footage!
// Welcome to the journey! I am Lea, a journalist and author and I want to take you with me on a motorcycle overloading adventure to all the wild and beautiful places in the world!
//Join the first stage of my trip around Africa along the coast of Westafrica through 12 countries: Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea-Conakry, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin.
Time of the journey: November 2019 to Feburary 2020
// I circumnavigated the world solo from 2016-2017 and now I am going to all other places I have not seen yet. Now on the channel: my motorcycle trip around africa/ the first stage of the journey through westafrica.

Hello to kloten - but only one bike is from Switzerland, mine at the time of the video is from Munich Germany. But soon to be Swiss too! 🤗
I btw think no problem with a bicycle - but you should check the political situation, military just took over the government a few days ago…

leemski yes, isn’t that name lovely? When we were there i wondered if the locals find it that nice too or if it’s only in English 🤔
Ha ha ha.i really enjoyed this video😄 love it❤
Looks like you’ve done a shift down a coal mine Leah😀. Loved the episode, I spent a month biking in Morocco 2yrs ago but this is on another level.

Lea Rieck i like you 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
AKRAM JORDAN---FROM JORDAN
I like the trip and also the motorbike
I started to watch your adventure and now it feels that it would be great if you could add more your daily routine as well - where and what you eat, where you find gas and how much it costs .. where you spend the night and what the prices are .. all of that, what makes the journey a journey .. all those exotic sceneries and endless roads become a bit one-sided by the time ✌
The westafrica journey was not really made for RUclips as I just started this channel during covid lockdown - the new videos are a bit more detailed. But my focus is more on the culture and places to go than on prices and costs because in my opinion that gets the same after a while and as well changed very quickly and can be read up in every travel guide. So I more want to inspire people to find new travel destinations that they have maybe not thought about than calculating my trip. 🤗
@@Got2Go Thanks for your reply !! I really enjoy this channel and keep my fingers crossed that everything in your personal life will work out the best possible way .. that the World will finally get rid of this damn pandemic and we will be able to discover its wonders again without any restrictions!
Happy New Year .. it's here already !! 🤗
Nice country !
Love your videos :)
Amazing footages. Did made any safety mesures on certain countries? For example in guinea conakry many governments website like usa or canada say it's kinda dangerous to travel there.
lovely video!

hi I have a question can I know in how many KM you change your oil for both bikes Tenere 700 and africa twin thanks
4:11 We should go back to this friendly way of transportation here in Europe instead of ordering courier for almost everything ;)
Nomad agree! 😍
Sooo, lots of rain in the North or hot, dusty South?!?!😜😁
Beatrice Dittli if you are stuck in rain you wish to be sweating, if sweating you wish for a cool shower 😂
@@Got2Go exactly 😜😁😁😁😁😜✌️✌️
Love the video, have you been asked to show your ID at the checkpoint?
Yes, you always have to show your passport and often as well vehicle papers at each checkpoint. So not only once, many many times! ☺️
Amazing journey..! How much you spent for this whole trip?
shazali kassim to be honest I don’t really calculate my trips. Probably spend roughly about 60 dollars a day on this one (no flights or bike maintenance or visa costs included)
Got2Go i see, i was kinda curious about the financials aspect because you started off from germany right? I was assuming it must be quite costly. I am amazed you have a very strong determination and perseverance to go on this trip it’s not easy. Are you on your way to the next city?
shazali kassim i did this journey in two steps, you can watch the first episode for a better understanding. We drove the motorcycles to Morocco, flew back to Europe and then continued two months later. This trip is already over, the motorcycles are in Benin now, we couldn’t continue due to corona. I am posting a bit late because the cutting takes a lot of time (and only the down time of corona made me decide to start a RUclips channel ... 😀). And: it’s actually not as costy in some aspects, because you don’t have to transport the motorcycle over a sea like you would have to do when wanting to go with your own bike to the American continent. So that’s probably at least 1000 euros that you can spend on just traveling. 😍
Got2Go interesting, thank you for sharing👍🏻hope to see you travelling with your bike again once corona is over..!😁looking forward to your next episode😁
shazali kassim I am currently on a trip to north cape. Videos will follow once I am done with the cutting for Africa 😁
Ok I played the counting game in Los Angeles. One man on a car. Got pulled over and a ticket. That game is illegal here turns out.
😂😂😂
HA! I played a similar game............to this day I can't understand how they manage to load so much without losing at least some of it. Amazing people around the world who do this are far more skilled than they get credit for. A bit crazy too I guess👍 Like you I am not an early morning person, I only discovered there are two 4 o'clocks in one day in Africa LOL! You looked really tired watching the sunrise, so pleased nothing bad happened on that morning ride. Once again a great video capturing the reality of riding there.
Paul Cosgrove yes, isn’t it amazing! That’s packing skills! I always wonder how much people could load on my motorcycle in that style 😂. And i actually love mornings and am an early riser - but only when the sun rises I like to drive, before I am 😴😴😴🥱🥱🥱
Top, ich bewundere dich.
Gruß Ralph
Ralph Schneidewind danke!
👍🏻💡
Thanks
This one is too short ! 😂
FERRY KANA but: another one is coming for sure 😂
Trotzdem es war zu kurz
Toto Arriba i don’t care so much about the algorithm - more about my capacity and time for cutting and the content of the episodes (in my opinion: these algorithms change too fast, if you play after their rules you always loose. Good content is still key).
So sometimes the episodes are shorter, sometimes a bit longer, sometimes only one per country, sometimes more, mostly one per week because that’s what my time allows - if I will have more time maybe more. I always try to put them together so the “story” in them makes as well sense - so sometimes it’s just better to put more in one episode and leave another one shorter. 😊
Nice trip, nice images but I was very sensitized with the images of the living chicken, for me was not funny but sad.
Can i know how about the malaria cases in guinea?
Wait...how much did you pay for the gas???
Chris Donnelly obviously a lot 😂
Nice journey 👍🏼!!Er du fra norge?
No, from Germany ☺️
Just curious have you ever had anything stolen along your trip? You guys are very brave, I would be paranoid at my belongings. When in poorer areas one would assume crime is greater. Ive heard many stories of officer demanding bribes and some taking all their money.
ibidu1 no, never got anything stolen on any of my travels. On the countryside where we mostly are I am somehow never scared, if you are in a village I always feel that people feel responsible for you so they really take care that nothing happens. In cities I always look for a safe gated parking because cities are the places that attract most of these small crimes. We as well heard the stories about all the bribes - but we didn’t have to pay one single one. It was sometimes long to get all the information written down (you will see in the next episode actually) but either we were just lucky or had a good travel spirit (we always felt that bad stuff happens if you get impatient, don’t shake hands or are just impolite - it’s very interesting because other travelers recognized for example the guys in my recent episode at the border and they had to pay big bribes to exactly those that were just fun and joking with me - so maybe just luck or a positive day for everyone 😁)
I see soo much money 💰 you see the land. My God.. invest build and grow
👍

Türkçe çeviri yok😡
Dein Akzent is voll deutsch🤣😝schau mal bissl ruclips.net/video/gRFDN5rIV10/видео.html
WE ARE ONE BRAIN natürlich ist er deutsch. Kurz mal versucht das abzugewöhnen als ich ein Jahr im Ausland gelebt habe, mich dann damit angefreundet. Warum englisch wie ein ami oder Brite sprechende, wenn man auch englisch wie ein Deutscher reden kann? 😂
