I wish I could have played WoW as a kid, that would have been spectacular with the imagination I had back then. I started playing WoW in early 2009 when I was 25 years old during the WotLK expansion, it was still awesome playing with a guild of old friends. What good memories!
Me too, the funny thing is that nowadays playing the classic I feel a lot of nostalgia, and I don't know why, I only discovered WoW in 2013, I really envy those who played back then
I started playing during the vanilla days. What I loved most is how tight-knit it felt. Like a small farm-town, you just knew everybody. Nothing to distract you but just community and fun.
I've heard that in modern WoW, they eliminated the need for taking this trip by adding a boat directly to Stormwind. I think this was a mistake. A huge part of the Night Elf experience is taking this trip on foot: sneaking past the crocs in Wetlands, climbing over the Dun Algaz mountains with the orc guards, finally emerging in Loch Modan like Andy Dufresne emerging from the pipes in Shawshank Redemption, taking the train from Ironforge to SW. Maybe it was an oversight that players couldn't go directly from Darkshore to Stormwind, but the fact that we had to make this ridiculous trek was one of the happiest oversights in gaming history. When you remove the "jank" from old games, you remove the soul.
here is the horde equivalent: Thunder Bluff ➡ Orgrimmar (through the Barrens) ➡ Undercity (via zeppelin) ➡ Silverpine Forest (or something like that). Barrens is HUGE. I never played Alliance much when I was young but thanks for this vid, I'm playing a NE Druid right now on the fresh server so it gave me some tips haha
OMFG...I used to make this commute on the regular... I literally bought WoW on day one, and honestly, I didn't have a clue what to do...I forget how long it took me to get all the FP connections that were available on both continents, but when I got the last one, i remember it being on par with the feeling of getting my first 100 gold, getting my first epic mount, finishing stranglehold vale quests and realizing I never had to go back there ever again if I didn't want to (😅) & of course, hitting 60 for the first time. I still remember when I hit 60 for the first time, even tho that was 19 years ago now...I made sure I didn't quest in my favorite zone, azshara, until I was halfway through 59...and even with all the quests in that zone done, I remember I had either a full bubble or half a bubble left over, & for some reason i refused to be reasonable and just find some quests in plaguelands or whatever, I literally just started farming azshara mobs for the exp...& whether it was a full bubble or just a half, at level 59, even getting half a bubble by solo grinding regular mobs is....uh... Well, let's just say, I wouldn't recommend anybody ever do that 😅 even my guild mates were pissed at me and were like dude we need you to be 60 so we can run shit with you just fucking go do a quest or two, & I was like on the 12th hour of non stop azshara fauna massacre just knee deep in moose corpses and bloody snow, & I was like no way guys I'll never hit 60 for the first time ever again, and it's gonna happen in my favorite zone, and yall can just wait lol. They were salty at me for a few days but got over it. Lol. Man. I miss my bro. My bro from minnesota...funny ass dude I would have never ever met if not for this game...(I'm on the opposite side of the continent)...his name on wow was peekay l, he was a female human mage, we met in azshara and he was there when I dinged 60, and he was like 56 or something, but I helped him get to like 58 and ended up logging off for a week (crazy teenage drama happened and I ended up away from home for a while lol) & when I signed back on, peekay literally messaged me before the damn HuD finished loading 😂 "RENZOOOOOOOOOO00O I THOUGHT YOU DIEEEEEEED" hahahahhaha Never had I been away from lordaeron for more then like 6 hours at most until then, so he actually wasn't just being dramatic, especially cuz I def told him I'd be back in like an hour or something first lol. He ended up hitting 60 without me 😂 I was mad for a second he didn't wait for me, and then we just both started laughing cuz like how are we even this good of friends right now like wtf is this game if it isn't a portal to like hang out with someone's consciousness from half a planet away via digital avatar, ya know? Like we were best friends, he was a wayyyyy better friend then anyone I knew IRL, and I was the same to him. And it happened totally by accident. We partied to kill one tough mob, and we could've never even seen each other in wow again and that wouldnt have been uncommon at all, but instead we actually never played solo again as long as we were both on. For anyone who actually read all this, well, I salute you, I wasn't expecting to write this just now, and actually, I haven't engaged those memories for just about 19 years until right now, and I was remembering it all as I wrote it... & im really glad I did, because, I'm gonna look up peekay on Facebook. Thankfully we exchanged actual contact info eventually, so if he has Facebook, I'll find him, and, man, i hope he's been well, and I hope I get to talk to him again. That's why , to me, altho there are games I'd say I probably like to play more overall, as wow just isn't something I can spend the same level of time on anymore, WoW was a video game that was also much much more than just a game. And it was much more than any of the online games out today. I'm sure other people may have had experiences like mine, but, for me, WoW was the only online game that ever happened, and nothing else has really felt like it could facilitate to people who shouldn't have ever met otherwise to become best friends... Anyway....double thanks for anyone who got all the way here. You rock! Also love ya cherie and thanks for helping me with my naps and stuff 😂 you're da shizniiit. Happy new year everybody!
I played Wow the same way "back in the days" and really enjoyed the immersion of the different zones. I really did get sucked in to how big the world seemed and loved exploring and collecting etc. just role playing like you described. ❤ Also I am in Texas and can say, I see the resemblance with Westfall 😂 but maybe that is mostly West Texas.
I love WoW been playing since 2004 made my first character a human Paladin named Avalon I eventually faction changed him to a Blood Elf Paladin and have been on the Horde ever since.

Westfall was always my favorite questing zone when I played alliance! As always thank you for the amazing video 😁

You are 5 meters from the boat. Boat leaves. - the pain experienced by anyone who ever played wow😂
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🎉

Fun fun fun! Thank you
Such a great video😊
Your soft spoken WoW content is by far your best content & it's not even close. In case nobodies told you! :)
Thank you for the journey.
Thanks for the relaxing adventure 😊 hope you will do Skyrim or ESO again. Miss those runs
Gotta use that shadowmeld after you hide in the corner lol, I also drop a freezing trap, just to be sure. Can’t be too safe on a pvp server
