- Let's hope Paul one day sees this. It is probably my favourite Lick of the Week so far, and one of the most challenging! And yes the crowd is too loud ;)
Gear used:
Guitar: Charvel So Cal with Zakk Wylde EMG Pickups
Amp: Yamaha THR10X

Aren't Charvels just great? I bought one only in December when there was a 20% sale going on, on them. I actually just came to get a new microphone stand because mine broke and I was about to setup recording, The Trooper cover a the time.
I first play a few keyboards and then see a Charvel in the guitar section. I put it on and I was immediately sold! With 20% off and my 5% extra store discount I paid a little under 600 euros for it.
I had already put down a solo track on my Strat Delux for the Trooper but I ended redoing it with this (far) cheaper Charvel and it makes it blend so perfectly with the original. And the rhythm sound is great, the Seymour Duncan JBs do articulate every note.
And since Charvel has a common history with Jackson I also bought a Jackson Soloist the next month.
Those two really became my favorite guitars (well with the exception of my self designed and build Tele casters but doing metal on those just doesn't work well :D)

Dude Cam, THANK YOU for making this instructional video!! I came across the actual performance on RUclips where Paul Gilbert played this, and I tried to learn it by ear, but I had it all wrong, but thanks to your video, I got it right now! You really have a knack for figuring out the right way to play these licks...how do you do it? I’m completely self-taugt and don’t have any formal instruction in guitar, so it’s pure passion for me, but I’m really interested in how you got to the level you’re on. Was it all through studying your music business degree? That’s so cool you’re doing it all man, definitely keep it up!!

+Guz Hi thanks so much for your comment I really appreciate. I hate to say I can't remember the settings I used. All I can tell you is that it was on Brown II. The way I normally set up an amp is Bass maxed, mids at about 2o'clock and treble between two and three o'clock. The gain is probably around 3 o'clock. I hope that helps :)

That's exactly right don't like to pick everything. I just find it so labouring :)
What's ur necklace? My stepfather collects arrowheads and Indian artifacts I know its bot that but it looks kinda tribal or something

Air Dealer - Lorenzo he uses 0.9 on everything except his white EMG charvel that he puts 0.10 because he de-tunes to D standard tuning
