REVIEW: I bought a PGMM31 last year. Of the mini guitar offerings out there, this was the best. I needed a compact guitar for travel, so I looked at the Squire Mini Strat which had cheap hardware preventing it from staying in tune. They appear to be aimed at kids for bedroom decorations. Jackson Minions seem like novelty guitars, not for serious playing. The Ibanez Mikros are the only line that come off to me as legitimate guitars. I will admit it required a pro setup immediately after purchase to fix the intonation issues, but once dialed in this little f’er rocked solid! The matching gig bag is sold separately, but only cost $20 bucks. I’ve dragged this little axe all over the country on business trips. Fits perfectly in overhead bins on jetliners. After many, many flights and road trips it’s still in one piece and playing great. EXCELLENT VALUE! I’ll also mention that Paul Gilbert was my personal instructor at M.I./G.I.T. back in 1987. Yes, he’s as fun and nice in person. No ego from that guitar hero. He was passionate about sharing his knowledge and skill with his students. Seriously good guy.

My PGMM31 has problem, on the above fret12 it doesn't sound same on the lower octave (it can't be tuned on the above fret12) Do you realize that your guitar have the same problem as mine?
@@yurijovanka5823do you mean that the notes are out of tune above the 12th fret? That would be an Intonation issue. It’s worth it to learn how to do it yourself but you could also take it to a guitar technician who can fix it.

At first it was the old Paul Gilbert doing some blues stuff.... but then we get som of "The Old Paul Gilbert" giving us some shred. I guess this guitar does all kinds of Paul Gilbert, and that's good.
I just got the green one. PGmm21 I think it's called. And here is my verdict. IT IS FUN !!! Very fun. Yes it goes outta tune here and there but not as often as you would expect (I haven't changed strings on it yet). It was so fun playing the little thing. I suddenly played a lot faster too. Only downside was frets were a bit sharp on the ends. But I fixed that.
Been a fan of Paul's since Racer X, I wish I still had the Vinyl, but that's a long story. Anyway I like the slide mod. I'd consider the guitar just for that reason alone. Love Ya Paul! You make me laugh and you can play guitar too. Not many people can say that.
This man is one of the world greatest guitar player ever. Wish he was my teacher they need to put him in the list of 10 best player in the world. Gilbert can play anything can play Malmsteen but I don't think Malmsteen can play what he can. He is very technical class act on guitars

Tried it at a local store and I felt the fretboard width was too small and the strings are spaced closer and now I just knew he actually requested it that way. >< Usual issue from previous reviews is having tuning problems.
We want a reissue of the PGM301 Paul... Make it happen man. They're getting hard to find for a good price online. I'd buy a nice new model of it. Same colors black and white.

Dimebag used to do some pretty amazing bending and vibrato with his thumb behind the guitar neck (aka classical technique)
