Update: I've noticed that if you take the potion and then hit him to quickly he will start working before you are turned, try waiting until the debuff is at 2 sec and then burst him under 80%. that way you'll turn before his next "phase" properly has started. For me this made it work instantly. before he had the whole despawning going on.
If you are a death knight, when he spawns the 3rd pool on the ground, summon your ghoul then drink the potion and then push him to 80% with about 1 sec left on the debuff. I found when I have a ghoul up, the boss doesn't despawn when you transform! Hope this helps my fellow death knights.
Just gonna throw my 25-man HC way to do it here: DO everything in the video, remove gear if it helps being accurate with the percentage. Drink potion after only 2 puddles, then only one of the green and red blobs will have spawned and you wont die. profit
as of now on 9.1.5 your tutorial still working. I had to do very exact same thing as you did in the video. Only thing I did differently I took all my gear down, everything and I left only the hammer. And I didnt even use any spell I just did auto attack to bring him down to 81%
Took me several attempts as he kept despawning and or upon changing I would get stunned in the abom form and die from his attacks before collecting all the ooze. Did as blood DK 120 removed helm, neck, shoulders and chest, removed Blood worms talent. Kept him at 83.6% until 3rd pool dropped, then positioned the professor as close to table as I could, then in the same global clicked table to drink and attacked professor, this allowed just enough time for him to finish his last action and run to the table interacting with it just as I transitioned. Had time to collect the ooze but keep in mind there is a cast time for the button 4 to complete the infusion so don't waste any time collecting the ooze in case you are damaged by attacks from professor.

After some good 10 tries and exhausting all the options mentioned here, I found that once you want to reduce Putricide below 80% you have to do it by quite the margin. In my attempts I tried going just a few percent points under the 80 mark, but once I really laid into him and globalled him down to around 60% it worked. Hope this helps someone!
This works perfectly, except I could not see the 6 min buff until after I'd killed the boss. Other wise, perfect instruction. I never could figure this out before!
Worked perfectly on 2nd try with your guide (I kinda overdamaged him during 1st try, hurduh).. just make sure you have SHADOW'S EDGE equipped and remove most of your other gear (instead of 345ilvl on my DK I had cca 145ilvl). Make sure you remove any azerite gear that heals you or protects you (in case you failed and wish to reset the combat, aka let Prof to kill you) and any other gear with a chance to proc some healing/unwanted dmg. Aaaand spam 1111 when transformed so you wont die fast.
I am having a slight problem. I bring the boss to 81-2-3%, wait for the 3 pools and in the very moment I drink a potion and damage him below 80% he starts his next phase and immediately resets. Any clues ;/
Make sure to not have any items on you that spawn or deal damage when idle, such as certain azerite traits can do. aswell as a blood dk with the blood worms, they took him down to 79% for me and required me to reset
after like 20 attempts I can confirm that it still works, on may 18 2020. did exactly like in the video. I guess you just have to be lucky, there isn't really any secret ingredient. Got the boss at 84%, once the 3rd pool was down, I ran to the table, clicked it, brought the boss below 80%, and stood on the middle of the pool, and bumm, I turned. Just keep on trying. Good luck! :)
Managed to do this on 25 Normal. I had to get a second drink as he killed my first mutation before I drank enough. I kept running and spamming 1, just pulled off the cast before he killed my zombie thing. Took me about 10 tries to get it done. PITA!
Did the quest as a lvl 45 warrior in shadowlands. Waited for 2 green pools, i hit the boss to take him below 80, then drink the potions, 2 pools are enough as long as they r stacked. Boss was even close to killing the giant.

So, like many here, it took me several attempts to get into the abom without the boss despawning, but then I ran into a new problem; the abom died before I could fill the bar?

@@djpalada i get it. Hit the boss only with the weapon with a pala! DK try it at the first run without reset. I think, the reset problem comes from the ticks if you hit the boss with your pala.
For sure, don't use any DOTS. There is an option to show the health bar as a percentage if you don't have it up. It's vital to pay attention to this to work properly.
All of this seems to be working, but I simply cannot click and remove the debuff like you're doing in the video, after the infusion. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Honestly they should just take out the raid lockout for these old raids. It's really annoying that when like in my case I didn't know how to do this, killed him, and now I have to wait a Fucking week to do this again. It's a 13 year old raid, come on. Even ffxiv makes last tiers raids farmable since they take out the raid lockout because last tiers gear is irrelevant at that point.
patch 9.0.5, i had to wait the 3 pools but bring him down the 80% mark before drinking from the table, otherwise he kept reset, i drunk when he already started the transformation, and then did what the video says
To anyone getting stuck on resets. Make sure you get him below 80% and click the potion when he starts casting concoction. you should have more than enough time. did this 16.07.20
It's a little tricky. I did it on 7 toons and numerous retries. After a few toons I was able to get it exactly right. Tried to give best notes I'm able to. Good luck.
what i’m confused sbout is how you’re not two-tapping him. like you’re using full abilities not just auto attacks it looks like. also my 1 just… doesn’t do anything? it’s stuck at 10.
Same problem, lvl80 Warrior, fully naked, no armor, cloak, neck, rings or trinks, to get him below 80%... But i insta-kill Putricide, just by looking at him angry?! /Meh .

After 30 attempts i need to ask what im doing wrong. I bring boss to 82%, wait for 3 pools, drink potion and after 0.5 - 1sec I bring boss bellow 80% then boss resets. Which part is wrong?
for me worked by getting him below 80 first then drink the potions, after all 3 pools dropped and everything, the method in the video was resetting the fight.
Same here. Did you ever figure out what was causing this? None of the guides I've seen have even mentioned tear gas being an issue, but it gets me every time and then my abomination dies to Putricide before it's able to drink enough pool stacks.
It's actually no lower than 82% from what i've experienced. 81% managed to make him turn etc, which does too much damage to you before you can get all the ooze
Followed video strat 100% and failed. Then I tried all variations in the comments. At no point did Putricide ever work at the table, he immediately despawned each time. Following another strategy I could keep him from despawning but again he never went to the table and kept attacking me. Ran out of health before 4 button was activated.
No matter what I do, this will NOT work. I have him drop three pools, but no matter how many times I walk around in them spamming 1, the gauge never fills beyond a little bit (maybe about 20%). WTF?
I just did this and i had to take off all of my armor and tried a couple of attacks to get the % right. But it worked the first time I got it within the right amount.

@@rahbeen5481 What I had to end up doing was getting him to around 84% health. When hea dropped the 3 green bottles run to the table. Then attack him until he's under 80. Wait til he starts mucking about the table with the experiment then drink the potion and move away from him. Also dont do what I done which was stand still and drink the goo. Do it on the move and once the infusion is available move out the goo as your health keeps going down the longer your in it.
ok, here is how i did it on my warrior 1.equiped shadowmourn only and i dragged him close to the door, not the table 2. bring him down to 82% with whirlwind 3. after the third bottle dropped, run to the table. u must hit him right after u click the table because you need to turn into abomination before he drops the tear gas. i turn my back to the table and face him, put my cursor on the table and another hand on rampage button. 4. click the table and hit him, and heroic leap to the pool. reason i let him drop the pool near the door is because i always get stunned during tear gas phase and he always kills me before i collect 100% gas. so i must make sure i have enuff time to collect the gas before i die. by dropping the pool near the door, he has to run a long distance to get me. 5. spamming the first ability 6. as soon as you see the shadowmourne function is ready, immediately run away and start channelling

Remember to DISTANCE YOURSELF FROM BOSS after lowering his health under 80 %. This helps with the despawning issue.

He doesn't create a concoction for me. he throws out tear gas, transforms and then attacks me there is not cast timer or anything

How do you get the boss at such a specific percentage? I auto-attacked him once, his hp went to 86%. I hit again and he’s at 76%

Are you on HC mode ? Had the same issue but on HC cast is longer and I didn't get stunned !

Just be sure to not stack the 3 pools because your abomination will die too fast and you will not have time to get 100 energy to cast the 4th ability.
I get to the part where i click 4 and half way threw the channel i get kicked out of abum.
Didn't help at all cause boss throws teargas now and transforms immediately instead of concocting a potion!
