I've technically built gunpla before when I was a kid but I recently picked the hobby back up a few months ago nearly twenty years later after watching The Witch from Mercury. I've since been working my way through most of the Witch from Mercury kits and they have been a blast to build, I highly recommend just about any of them. I just have three more left before I start giving RG kits a shot. RG kits didn't exist when I last built a gunpla and from what I understand they've effectively got the detail of an MG wrapped in the scale of an HG and I'm really looking forward to the challenge. Cheers, and I hope you try your hand at more gunpla.
Love to hear that! and thanks for the support :). I've seen there are quite a few kits from the witch of mercury series. Will try to get around to them in the future
6:13 something you might wanna do on other Gundam style gunpla is trim the safety flags on the v-fin. They’re supposed to be nice and pointy but for obvious reasons the designers put little tabs on them.
That's neat, just found your video, and can't wait to see you build Master Grade! You may want to restrain yourself from getting Real Grade, considering your struggle with small parts. In any case, happy building!
@@MaxBuilds007 Real Grades are like a miniature Perfect Grade or Master Grade depending on how you look at it. Lots more details, color separation, and articulation than the High Grades. But like anything that you’re new to it all takes time and patience and the satisfaction of the end results.
He's been bitten by the bug, I would recommend also taking a look at the Real Grade line of kits, The Hi-Nu Gundam is one of the best in my opinion, very similar to the aerial.
I stick to MGs for the most part because I enjoy their size. Never been much of a fan of the HGs but the benefit is that they are easier/faster to build and they have the most variety to choose from.
The high grades are also easier on your wallet hahaha. Fun build build but I agree the master grades being larger is a huge plus. Possibly a perfect grade in the future if my bank account allows for it
@@MaxBuilds007 Yeah the wallet hit is not great. I managed to get a ton of MGs over in a few months back. About half the price of in the US and just paid about $10 shipping per kit to ship them over.
@@MaxBuilds007 Perfect Grade Gundam kits are some of the most expensive being $130-$500+ depending on which one you choose. But the amount of engineering is incredible even in the older PG kits.
If you look at the head, particularly the v-fin, you’ll see that on the tips there are some safety nubs to keep them from being too pointy. This is in most HG’s, but you can make them look sharper by snipping it a little, cleaning it with a knife, then sanding it down. It’s a simple change, but it makes a big difference.
I was about to say, he did a great job, but he should look into the safety nubs on the v-fin. lol. scrolled down to make sure i didnt post a comment that existed already.
I just complete my first Master Grade kit and it was amazing. It took a week due to work hours being demanding but it was fun. I still need to put decals but I can do that later.
If you're wanting a fun variation of the grandaddy Gundam, I would wholeheartedly recommend the HG Amazing Red Warrior from Gundam Build Fighters Try. It's a red gundam that is completely filled to the brim with weaponry and even has little hidden features like chest missile launchers. Check it out sometime.

I built the Real Grade Crossbones X1, it is a great pirate themed mech, but the head was very tiny, and if you use the eyepatch, its just one piece. oof. Anyway, it's fun to see you go down the gunpla route. Also if you liked the RX 78 2, the High Grade Origins edition is like a small master grade, tons of details and lots of weapons.
