@KDigitalStudio is there a way to add Audio as i saw the entire video and still cant find a way to add audio files
If they add the ability to do voice recording or add voice notes then it can be awesome as it can be way better then notability and goodnotes 5 and other apps
Apple should just integrate free form into Apple notes.. I use Apple notes for school and I wish I could have all of these features on Apple notes.. but I wonder why freeform doesn’t have the Apple fountain pen

Because one is a whiteboard, and the other is for notes. Maybe they will merge the two later
Yes, I don’t know why they don’t just have all the native apps share all the features. Kept drawing shapes, waiting for them to snap in place and it doesn’t work!
ATM at least you can divide the screen with notes on one side and freeform on the other. 🤷🏻♂️
I’m thrilled with the way this app lets me gather different media together and then clearly annotate and connect them in an attractive way. It leaves room for illustrating and saving ideas and resources all in one logical place. I find it’s superb at letting me see the whole picture and identify where the holes and gaps are.
You have presented a mind-blowing amount of information in a concise tutorial…is there a “standing ovation” emoji? 👏 😂. I’ve often wondered why Apple never offered something as simple as even Microsoft Paint but then they drop this in our laps! A lot to learn for an old fart like me, thanks so much for your outstanding presentation. Sadly many people can only absorb the new “shorts” format. This would make about a thousand of them 😅. Lasso tool only thing missing here. Figuring out how to move things around
There is a lasso for moving anything using pencil kit. You would use your finger to move other content! It’s just like Apple Notes!
Can someone please explain me what’s the use of the first pen tool? The one with the capital A written on it
Great video, but unfortunately I don't have a pen option on MacBook Pro. I do have a Wacom, but apparently, that won't help much. I suppose it's best on iPad (which I don't have).

What do you think can freeform replace note taking apps like OneNote?
Alas, the iPad screen is so small and so uncontrasty that I can scarecely see what is beiing discussed. The rez is not good enough to manually enlarge.

Amazing app it’s been super fun getting used to it and using it for pretty much everything. Does anyone know if you can create or edit placed images transparency? I’d like to place an image and then make it like 50% transparent for instance. How can I do that?
What size is your IPad
They don’t let me freely adjust the sticky notes or videos proportion size :( when I take a landscape verses portrait view video they have to look different on the app and it drives me insane

it is a great app on the iPad - on the mac it is a fricken disaster because it is not adapted to common and fast macOS mouse and keyboard workflows

This was incredibly helpful. I bought an iPad to organize my work flow better. But have been overwhelmed with all the other apps out there that are a paid version. Honestly missed the built in apps. LOL. Excited to see that Freeform and Notes actually do everything I need for the work and planing that I do. Your tutorial was awesome and even spoke to a beginner like me. Thank you!!! What is the tool that to the left of the pen tool? You never mentioned what that is. It’s at 10:03. I do not have that tool on my iPad which is strange.
It’s essentially “lasso” for anything in PencilKit (so moving anything you’ve written, drawn). Not for moving text or shapes or other media that are added outside of PencilKit.

Most important question! Linking to another whiteboard .... as it is crucial for workflow. Or linking to a different part of diagram/view .... two most crucial options to better usage

Freeform but you cannot sort notes freely

I’ve noticed a few differences between the iPad and the MacBook versions. Specifically I am wondering if there is a way on the iPad to “make editable” for shapes and lines? On the MacBook I am able to make lines editable which I really like to be able to make curves all different directions and then extend or shorten. I have been unable to find a way to do this on the iPad. Any suggestions??
I like to have the eraser on object eraser setting, however, every single time I launch the Freeform app, it starts with the pixel eraser setting and with the thinnest option. The same thing happens with adjusting my pencil thickness, I like to use the thinnest option available when using the pencil, however, after relaunching the app it starts with the middle thickness option. Can someone help me please? Is there a way to change the default thickness of certain pens like there is in Goodnotes? Likewise, is there a way to change the default eraser to be the object eraser?

I’m going to make myself crazy. I’m trying to do a text box and I can’t figure out why I can’t indent the second line of the bulleted item. For instance I’m typing out a recipe and put a bullet point but it all doesn’t fit on one line. When the next line goes down the word starts at the bullet point instead of indented under the first word of the bullet point.
If I have my iPad in an Otterbox cover, which includes a cover for the screen, can I still use the pencil with it? I found this so helpful, by the way! Thanks

Hi, thank you for the great tutorial. Question: can you create a sticky note or a space where you insert elements and when you move that space, all the inserted elements move with that. I know you have the group functions but then it treats everything as one object and you can't access/view the elements like PDF or pictures etc individually. Thanks for your help!🙏🙏🙏
I have the same question. If I have text on a sticky note or a shape on another shape, how do you lock/group them together so you can move the entire thing? Now if I move a sticky note, then I have to move the text separately back on it. Thank you!
Freeform doesnt have that many tools as Miro. With Miro, you can do what you are asking and it has more tools. Freeform is very basic and it is more like having a digital blackboard. Until it let us work kn it for meetings and create or add more functions. The only way is taking a screenshot of what you wrote and add it as an image in other places.
Hey how do I select the outline of a pasted image and end up with just the outline without having to trace it ?
contrast is so low that its almost impossible to see what you are doing on the iPad screen

Milanote is a much better app...lots more you can do...Apple, if you're gonna offer something, there's TONNES of apps to template off of, and improve on it...
I used to use Milanote. Freeform replaced it for me. Better handwriting experience in Freeform and I can add more file-types. But Milanote is still a great option!

How to group objects like macOS version?
Hi I am currently struggling with the fact that every time I create a new note and I try writing with my Apple Pencil it just automatically changes to text. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Use different pen. Not the one with letter "A" on it.

When using the drawing tools pencil or crayon with Apple Pencil on iPad how do I draw a straight line, but not by using the line shape? In Apple notes it’s possible to hold down a drawn line to make it straight. Thanks
I mentioned it in the video, but they don’t have the hold to perfect feature in Freeform (yet! Not sure if it’s being added or will get this feature since you can technically use the shapes tool)

Great preso, thx! Two mysteries: 1) I see how to select and manipulate multiple objects created with pencil box tools. But is there any way to select and move a group of objects that includes multiple object types (not created with the pen tools)? 2) Is there any way to snap the arrows' endpoints to the objects they connect so that they stretch/move along with the objects when moved. Both of these seem like standards in flowcharting programs. Thx!
if you tap with finger on the board it gives you options to select things (everything not just writing)
