I never comment, but I have to let you know that these reflexes carry over to other games, and this is how people pick up games and are decent at them from the start. It's like you level up outside of the game.

11:38 that's why it said Level 1 in the title of the video. I don't remember exactly how leveling in GoW works, I think your weapons can be fully upgraded, but if you have the most basic armor, you'll still be Level 1, which is what I assume this dude did. And that's why it takes him so long, since he does so little damage. Also because of the difficulty.

And a purple life bar does indeed mean 2 difficulty levels above your Kratos, but Faraaz Khan LOVES doing that. I love his videos too. He has such a positive attitude even when he doesn’t win.
Sigrun was my favorite boss ever. Loved it so much I killed her 2 times just for the fun of it.
But it took a long time to get there.
I love that Hannah knows that no damage videos are insane, they usually are to some players as well :D

Hey hannah! Here's a basic summary of how levels and gear work:
Ultimately the deciding factor over how powerful your enemies are is the type of gear you have equipped in your armor and enchantment slots.
If your armor is high level and you have very good enchantments that makes the fight easier, if you have your weapons upgraded that also makes the fight easier, however having runic attacks does not necessarily mean you do more damage generally, it just adds more variety to your move set, having no real effect on what your level is.
The runic attacks themselves can also be upgraded to have more damage, stun and elemental damage, it takes a lot of experience points to upgrade one to max but it is very much worth it.
Also the type of gear that you use determines how powerful they are since there is armor attributed to increasing runic damage while there is armor attributed to increasing your overall strength and defense.
You can view armor stats by hovering over them and pressing a certain prompt, on the right side of your screen you can see the values it adds or subtracts based off whether it's better or not compared to the armor currently equipped.
Make sure you constantly upgrade your armor and craft new armor that is better than your previous one, if you're struggling with finding equipment and resources try doing some side quests.
Above the stats you see on the right side of the screen will be Kratos's level the higher it is the more your flights are going to be a breeze.
There are also talismans to be taken into consideration, they are like mini abilities that give you an edge in the fight, I'm sure you've noticed in the videos you're watching that occasionally the enemy would be stuck in a slow motion phase, that is the work of a certain talisman that slows down your enemy and allows you to get in a great deal of attack damage.
talismans have lots of effects ranging from healing you to giving you certain status effects to unlocking entirely new attacks so find one that suits your play style and make sure to upgrade it and add enchantments to it.
Also make sure to use your experience points to buy new skills from the skill tree for both you and Atreus, they open up lots of variety in your combat and I feel like a personal favorite of mine that you will absolutely enjoy is the executioner cleave where you basically hold down the right trigger and it charges up a really strong attack that can chop most of your enemies in half.
faaraz (guy in tank top) was doing it hardest difficulty and at level 1. so in other words severely underlevelled lol. and going based off my experience in playing it, that difficulty is ridiculous.

I love seeing your progression lmao, you're legit becoming a hardcore gamer. Doing no hit bosses and watching other people do it and learning. That's what separates a casual gamer from a hardcore gamer, looking up resources outside the game and learning.
Oh boy.. I see a Souls gamer in the making.
Who knew the non gamer turned new gamer would be a Souls head.
The 3rd video was a guy beating her at ultra hard while he was underleveled at level 1. (He would die in one hit). So even more underleveled than you. That is why it takes so long to kill her even if he is super good.
The level is influenced by your equipment and not the skills you learn. So he was level one but still had all the moves you can get.

Faraaz khan was playing on the highest difficulty "give me god war" which cannot be changed mid game its commitment and on the first level of weapons without upgrades. It took him a while since the axe and blades are barely doing any damage. He is known for doing timed no hit runs in entire games from start to finish sometimes even multiple games back to back.
There are no better or worse ways to overcome challenges. There are only effective ones.
you may not have used the "cool" tricks the other players had at their disposal but it got the job done, well done Hannah.
Level 1 in God of War 4 (2018) means that he has a low equipment's which also means with low stats. When upgrading your weapons and armors, it adds stats to your character. So the guy has low stats with low gears

That was awesome, I kinda wanna see her play Elden Ring now xD. I foresee her raging at it, and then overcoming it lol.
And there it is! The SATISFACTION at the end after putting in hours of determined work. You're improving so much Hannah, and these reflexes will be applicable in other games too; your progress will carry over, and you'll start to have more fun right out of the gate with a new game 😄

18:42 oh yeah, sounds like Souls games is your jam. Although they have a lot of leveling stuff and equipment that you hate to deal with, so maybe try Sekiro, which is all about precise and visceral combat and some stealth. And every single step of it is a satisfying milestone.
'Level 1' should mean that he never leveled up even once which would explain why his video is so much longer than the others -notice how little damage he's doing, he could not possibly be more underleveled!
It's a long time since I've played GoW myself, but I would assume the things he has which you don't are things that are unlocked later on in the game through means other than levelling

She is getting better, but we are still going to need a pre-war strategy meeting along with some how to Dark Souls videos to get her through Dark Souls. What build based on her play style? Make sure she has curse removal stones before fighting the toads or laugh at her halving HP repeatedly trapped underground and her fight her way out? At least they patched that so its 1/64 a health bar. Make her get the Drake Sword so she can two hit enemies in two handed mode with guard breaers or don't warn her about the dragon bridge? Teach her the falling attacks? Should she kill Ornstein or Smough first? Do we tell her about the hidden wall locations? Do we make her grind the two tougher ghosts and retreat to level up super fast in the Darkroot Garden? Do we get her to 50 Int and watch her spam magic?
If we tell her to get Demons Souls Remake instead, do we tell her about dying in the Nexus on purpose or let her go pure black world tendency so its just hell world? Do we tell her the World order you supposed to go in? Do we teach how to use World 4-1 to level up fast immediately? Do we tell her about the leaps of faith to get extra items? Do we warn about all the traps?

That was a good strategy for that fight. You might be ready for Elden Ring.
You level through your gear in GoW, so his gear will be pretty much as it is when you first start the game except with runic attacks of course. Hence it saying "level 1".
When you're underlevelled it's your armour (and the runes/stones you can slot into it) you need to focus on first to bring you up to the state you should ideally be. I think last time I saw you play you had unupgraded armour (dunno if you still do), but you upgrade your armour at Brok and/or Sindri once you pick what armour you like at any one time. It's good to pick a set that gives you the stuff you want in your build. Tyr's armour/the Ancient's armour are really good midgame sets that you may enjoy using.

I feel like Hannah would absolutely hate FromSoft Level design but, ... 'enjoy' is the worng word... become obsessed with FromSoft boss fights.
I'd guess that having items and abilities that you don't have on your first playthrough is a "New Game Plus" feature (frequently abbreviated to "NG+"). This is a way to extend the playtime (and value, for many players) of a game by letting players start a new game but carrying over items and abilities that they collected in their first playthrough (though some may still be locked behind level-ups). Usually, this lets players access new areas, or access areas out-of-order, even skipping entire sections of the game (usually ones you would label "side quests").
Either that, or the player just abstained from leveling up (assuming you can do that in GoW 2018. I don't remember). "Level 1" challenges are actually fairly popular among more "hardcore" communities because it levels the playing field, ensuring that everyone had to overcome the exact same challenges.
So I haven't played this game but I did some small research. It seems you can create "builds" in this game, which is the way to customize your fighting style. I don't know how detailed those builds can get but often there are people who can make REALLY well optimized and well thought builds, and this process we call "theory crafting". So for some of the players it might not just be their experiance and skill, but also their build that gives them an advantage.
Yeah you can chose the special arracks as you unlock new ones, you can get better armor with mod slots for better defensive stratefy, and you can get mods for armor and weapons as you go. Uoi only have the two wepons so its all mod based and putting on the latest armor. In this game its about getting the latest greatest most rare loot and the best mod to get the greatest adantage or you can just ignore that just find something that works generally and update it periodically when things get hard. When I played it 5 years ago, I only had three major updates to my build choice after 3 hours in when I was still experimenting. Otherwise I left it alone. You are supposed to update it a lot more frequently. And that last one was trying to beat the Valkyrie Queen, the toughest optional boss in the game with all the moves of the other 8. I slap all legendary mods on and destroyed her on try three, though it was frustrating trying to figure out her two one hit kills you moves. The way I beat her is trapping her in one spot it takes long to get out of by baiting her into it. Once you get her momentarily stuck you go over and destroy her for a bit and then repeat. Still considering she can bust out two things that are one hit kills. The best way is to have them interrupted by arrow fire. Took me three tries to figure that out. All but three valkyries I beat the first go. The rest of them even underleveled I steamrolled by not getting hit much or at all. The other two would have had to maintain that no mistakes aggression for 30 minutes not 10-15m but they were a bit tricky. I died way more to regular enemies that were way over my level but I assessed them too early than to any of the actual bosses.
Hannah should play Elden Ring, it would be hilarious

Actually, maybe Devil May Cry or Bayonetta? Linear games, great combat, all about making you feel powerful and unleashing massive combos and devastating attacks. In Bayonetta your a witch that fights demons on behalf of heaven, have guns on your stilletos, and you eat the bosses with your hair. In Devil May Cry you're a half demon half human who kills demons with a giant sword
I dont want to spoil anything for you, but there will be an opportunity for you to try more combat challenges as a side activity that have different rules to complete, once when you progress further in the story. After you can travel to different realms, you'll see.
Now that you are confident with your dodging and timing wagainst Valkyries, I think you could be more agressive with the next one instead of waiting for the Beam cooldown.
No need to go as hard as the ones in the videos you watched because these guys are super pro at this. But still a bit more hits in between.

Yeah... Weirdly enough... I think you should try the Dark Souls games. Or Elden Ring. It'll take months to complete. But you'll get highly addicted.

It's nuts hearing you talk like this because this is the exact kind of gamer talk FromSoftware games are infamous for inciting. Definitely try Dark Souls or Bloodborne.
What i took away from this is that you are way to passive in your fighting style, you use to much time getting away from the fight.

I used to side step and jab them after their unstoppable stab it would stun them and leave them open for tune attacks I figure these guys keep rolling to gain distance for their specific rune attacks , only thing I miss from 2018 is the shield skill system 🥲
