Mound has always been one of my favorite Phish songs. Mike songs are typically underrated. Since you mention circularity in their music, it may be time for Divided Sky, which has a section known as the Palindrome, because, it's a musical palindrome. Great mention of Gentle Giant! GG has to be a massive influence on Phish, though they have yet to betray tha t and cover one of their songs. They should do Free Hand.
Surely it's time for some theatrical New Year's Phish. I especially like the 2016 and 2018 videos, but of course they'll have a hard time topping last year's Gamehendge.
You've definitely stepped into some of Phish's quirkier corners, and their sentimental ballads, this week! Certainly a fun different side of the band from the big jams. Though next week I'd love to see a big jam again! Went Gin, Fukuoka Twist, Nassau Roses, Deer Creek Simple, Mexico Chalkdust!
Keep on phishin dude! Your journey is just starting. Watching it unfold for you hits us hard too! Reliving how it felt to discover phish is almost as joyful this time watching you as it was the first time for us!
As a huge phish phan we need to get you to listen to the band king gizzard and the lizard wizard. Cavs is one of the best drummers ever. He even has a solo album called CAVS. You’d love that too.
@@L33Reacts yea man. Randolph high school in NJ. Grew up playing baseball with Chris Pennie. He was always pencil drumming in class making teachers fucking crazy. 🤣
@ yea man. Randolph high school in NJ. Grew up playing travel baseball with Chris Pennie. Adam Doll and John Fulton went there too. Chris is got kicked out of class weekly for pencil drumming🤣.
This was a cool pick. Glad you continue to see different sides/elements of the band. They do have a handful of tunes that are kind of bluegrassy like Scent of a Mule (Daniel Saw the Stone, Uncle Pen, Ginseng Sullivan, Old Home Place come to mind). That was really a great version of Fast Enough For You. Everything was pretty flawless there. Good version of Mound too. Interesting picks but good ones. I'm going to suggest A Curtain With, preferably from 6/17/04. If you want a nice chunck of tunage, Mango Song into Free 9/17/2000. Guyute from 9/17/2000 is also a must. Happy to continue to watch your journey!
Another special only Phish thing you should check out is Harpua. If you want to peel back another layer of who this band is you need a Harpua. It's a type of improv that is very very different that no other band could or would do. I think the 10/31/94 Harpua is an awesome one to start with. ruclips.net/video/ozr-XESJL68/видео.htmlsi=amGDjiHZoe6-HkiI
@@alvarhanso6310that would be awesome, but it would be a really long video. Plus the Harpua gets overshadowed by that other incredibly special thing that's going on in the middle of it 😉. 10/31/94 is definitely more entry level and still makes the point.
@L33Reacts I should also mention that Harpua holds a special place in the Phish catalog because the band intentionally brings it out extremely rarely and only for very special occasions. There's only one Harpua every few years these days and if it comes out, something special is about to go down. Most recently, they put a full Gamehenge in a Harpua.
@philhuynh6123 I think the rest of 11/2/98 is an incredible show, the Harpua and Hitchhiker Jimmy segment just made it legendary. More people should check out that whole show, the Tube> Drowned> Jesus Left Chicago that opens I remember filling the whole side of my Maxell II. Was one of the very few 15 min Tubes at the time, Dayton 12/7/97 was maybe the only other one. Crazy to say it's an underrated show, but it is, because of what people perceive as "the gimmick". That gimmick overshadowed a whole 4 night run in Vegas. The whole show should have. And that's back when Fish could kill Limb by Limb.
@@alvarhanso6310 I totally agree. Great show. I remember everyone who went to Halloween but skipped Utah was losing their mind. Looking back it's hilarious. They got us. But honestly, that's just one more reason I've always loved this band.
Awesome reaction dude - “Trey Hendrix”….haha yes Jimi is one of Trey’s biggest influences, he’s a huge fanboy. Fast Enough was one of the first ballads Trey ever wrote, really nice solo on this one!
