I have the small American Flag pins with only one post on back, need two posts so the Flag pin won't keep spinning upside down while wearing on my shirt.
This tutorial helped very greatly. Nice tutorial and much appreciated for sharing your skill. 👍👍
Really helpful and easily explained. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your tutorial, I was asked to solder posts onto very dainty silver daisies and was so worried that I would melt them. YAY! it worked! I am going to use this brilliant technique from now on, thank you once again, Rose, Hampshire, UK xxx
I enjoy the refresher on how to solder post to earrings thank you
I like at the end that you said now we have our own diamond earrings! Very cute and great solder tutorial!
Great. I think I'm going to attempt it now. Was going to glue it. Thanks for the video

Thanks for the useful video. Can you post a list of all the tools used here and suggest an online seller for the tools? Thanks again!
Hi Jim, thanks for the feedback and sorry for the late reply. The links to everything we have used are right in the video description :)
If you tumbled the earrings would it work harden the post or do you still need to use the pliers and twist? Great video, as always.
Tumbling would for sure harden them. I would actually do both for extra strength.
Nice;-)
What options are out there for a non-combustible work surface? Thank you All Kindly for the time and effort you put into bringing us knowledge. Guess the best things in life really are free
you can use a piece of sheet metal or a cookie sheet
I do all my soldering in an old 9 x 13" baking pan. Everything (charcoal block or fire brick, soldering picks & tweezers, flux cup, etc) fits inside it beautifully. I work with it on my desk/jewelry table & it works fine. I turn the whole pan to reach all the way around whatever I'm soldering so no need for a turntable! I then also store the bricks & some tools in the pan. I'm not a soldering pro, actually relatively new to it, but this set up has worked great for me! Hope it helps.
Where can a person get those pro polish pads? Thank you for the video. 💜🦋💕
Right here on our site. We sell a ton of these :) beaducation.com/a/search?type=product&q=pro+polish+pad
I would like to get the soldering black base, can you indicate me where
it can be bought ,l like your space .
That is the charcoal block. Here ya go - beaducation.com/p/2195-jewelry-making-tools-charcoal-block
What’s a quench bowl? Is that just a bowl of water to cool off the metal before you pickle it?
Yes, that is what the quench bowl is..just to cool off your piece after firing.

How do you clean the earrings after posts soldering?
You can throw the earrings into the pickle pot or clean it with Penny Brite.

www.beaducation.com/product_videos/96-penny-brite
What is pickle pot?
A pickle pot is used with a pickling compound that removes firescale from metal after soldering.

So does it matter if you get 925 sterling silver ear ring posts, or stainless steel ear ring post? Does one solder better than another? Should you get a "hard" solder or "soft" silver solder? Is "easy' solder wire like in the video "hard" or "soft"? Also, what is the liquid in the bowl? If it is a pickle solution, what is it? Sorry- I'm a beginner--- Thanks
We are working with sterling silver in this video. Soldering stainless is not something we have done. I would take a look online to find tutorials for working with stainless.
How do you put divots on ear posts... so the ear nut doesn't fall off? I can't find any videos on it...
IT depends on how wide you want the divots to be. You should test this first on another wire to make sure it works and does what you want it to. You can grab the wire lightly with cutters and turn the wire while holding with the cutters.
Ok thank you,
i figured it was something like that.
So the hole in the disk gets filled perfectly with the solder?
?
?
What if there are jewels on the earrings. Will it melt?
depends on the material of the jewels. I would do some research on your jewels and see if they are heat resistant. Gemstones (natural would ok).
Do you dilute flux or use paste ?
In this project we used solder wire with flux. If you use paste it has the flux already in it.
Beaducation thanks
Hi. I am new here, I want to see the best way to make a pair of earrings with seashells, can't seem to find a to to toutorial for it. I would be able to figure it out but I don't know what the best materials would be to make them. So if you can just give me a list for it that would be nice. Tnx
I guess it depends on what style of earrings you are making. If you want to make dangle earrings, I recommend you watch the following classes. Links below.
