What is The Crew 2?
The Crew 2 is an upcoming open world racing video game developed by Ivory Tower and published by Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is the sequel to 2014's The Crew. It features a persistent open world environment for free-roaming across a scaled-down recreation of the United States. The game allows players to control a variety of vehicles including cars, motorcycles, boats, and airplanes. The game will be released on June 29, 2018.
Similar to its predecessor, The Crew 2 is a racing game. In the game, players assume control of a relatively unknown racer, who is trying to work his way to become successful in multiple disciplines. It features a persistent open world environment for racing and free-roaming across a scaled-down recreation of the contiguous United States. In addition to cars, players can also control other kinds of vehicles including planes, motorcycles, and boats. Each vehicle has their own control physics, meaning that gameplay is different when players are controlling different types of vehicles. Players can switch between controlling air, land and sea vehicles instantly. The game features four different hub worlds, with each having their own theme and playstyle. These themes include off-road, street racing, pro racing, and freestyle. Both vehicle and character customization will be featured in the game. Similar to the first game, it will place a huge emphasis on multiplayer. It also features a cooperative multiplayer mode, which allows players to join different rally raid events together. This mode can also be played solo with artificial intelligence.
The Crew 2 is currently being developed by Ivory Tower, a subsidiary of publisher Ubisoft. Parts of the development was based on the feedback they received on the previous installment. One major critique was that players did not have enough freedom to explore the world and do missions. To solve the problem, Ubisoft overhauled the game's progression system and decided not to focus much on the game's narrative, which would require players to complete missions in a very specific order, and instead divided the game into several hub worlds, with each representing a unique driving style. Players can stay in these hubs to play the missions that interest them and do not need to force themselves to visit other hubs to play through missions that do not interest them. The Crew's downloadable content, Wild Run, which was positively reviewed by players, also prompted the studio to focus more on developing content regarding offroad racing.
As the game features a variety of vehicles, Ivory Tower also needed to improve the game's graphics. According to the game's producer, Stephane Jankowski, these new types of vehicles allow players to explore the open world with new perspectives. For instance, flying a plane means that players can see objects that are very far away. As a result, the engine had to be modified to significantly improve the game's draw distance. The engine was also updated to include other enhancements, such as atmospheric clouds and realistic vegetation. The game's control was designed to be accessible but "hard to master".
The game was announced in May 2017 during Ubisoft's earning's call. It was officially revealed at E3 2017 accompanied with a cinematic trailer and gameplay demonstrations. The game was originally set to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 16, 2018, however, in early December 2017 Ubisoft announced that the game was postponed towards mid- or late-2018, in order to give developers more time to deliver a quality product. A closed alpha for PC was held from 14 to 19 of March 2018 and a closed beta is set to be held from 31 of May to 4 of June of the same year.The game is now announced to be released worldwide on 29 June, 2018.

Fh4 ultimate is the way I went
EDIT: I did still pre order crew 2 just standard. FH4 Ultimate is where my hype is around, which is why I spent 100$ on it.

Think about it $1 per hour you play. If you can play a game for 100 hours, 100 bucks on a game makes a lot of sense. It's the cheapest form of entertainment you can get!

Getting Standard Edition, because the Corvette Stingray is all I want. Also slightly scared to play the open beta soon, I don't wanna spoil anything for myself before the game comes out.
Don't worry about they beta, they lock everything so you can't progress past the first level of each discipline and reputation level of the game. It's mostly just to let people get a feel for everything and cruise the open map!

Honestly just going to buy it when it comes out in stores, i'd prefer to grind for the content rather than getting it free. Great video though man, very clear and informative.

I really enjoyed the closed beta of The Crew 2. Not sure yet if I should get the Gold or the Standard Edition but gonna try the Open Beta and see if they're some improvements in gravity, graphics, or some sort

Sykes Exactly! If it does turn to me buying in game content it doesnt harm anyone but I don't think I need to because I won't be missing out on a lot and buying the other editions isn't mandatory at all.

No problem :) Somehow in TC1 I felt really in control of the car. Loved drifting and could actively dodge traffic with my own skills instead of hoping everything will go right with other racers. Also love the feel of your car as you gradually upgrading it. There's a discount on the gold edition in the PS4 store right now. 30€. I bought it. I think now is the best time to get the game if you thought about getting it when on discount. I just recently wanted to get the motor Edition but nobody had it in stock which really ticked me off because I really wanted the motor Edition for the map and a license plate and it just makes me sad so I had to settle for the Gold Edition.
Was going to buy the gold edition but they haven't reveal all the season pass cars i work hard every single day can't just go and through all that money lmao I'd rather go to stip club at least every penny will be worth it if you know what I mean

I was reluctant to preorder this game but I think the car selection has me sold. I'm probably gonna pick up the Standard edition, although I care very much about which cars are offered in the DLC, but since my money right now is limited and then I will preorder Forza Horizon 4 because I can get it as a near Birthday gift.

Getting the gold edition disc copy. I wish I got it digitally tho because I heard only in the digital copy you get it early. Why didn’t they do that for the gold edition disc copy. They could of somehow brought the gold disc copy in to Eb games earlier for people who got that copy. Anyway I’m happy I got the Crew2 and will be happy to wait the 3days if I half too
Basically because they store can't release games early. If they do they can get in trouble even if with an edition of the game you get early access. Only digital copy's can go out early. Which is dumb but they have the rules in place so no one get's it early cause the distributer can lose their license to distribute games

I think I’m gonna get the gold edition because you get the game, the motorsports deluxe pack and the season pass which allows you to get some special cars as well. Also the early access is just an added bonus

Sykes the crew 1 wasnt the best, the crew 2 doesnt look much better (yea it has airplanes an stuff, but it also looks kinda half baked). Another major problem with the game is the upgrade system. The arcade style racing games of the past few years havent been very good (except for forza if you count that as an arcade style game), and it doesnt look like the crew 2 is changing anything

I see there is a big sale on the Deluxe edition with 75% off from 1st of April to 30th of April so I might be getting the Deluxe addition only problem is I dont have ps plus and I will be getting a 1 month subscription but I really want 12 month but it's so expensive but once you have it you know you are settled
At the moment you can get 20% off for 100 uplay points. So in europe i payed 72€ instead of 90€ for the gold edition, which in my opinion is totally worth it. I dontknow how long this offer will last though.

Why is it more expensive in the usa? I preordered the gold edition. Italy - full price 90€ ( 92$ give or take ). With a discount of 20% for 100 club units I've paid 72€.
It's more expensive over here cause our dollar is worth less then the pound is. Right now $1 here is worth almost 2€ that's mainly the difference

I will pre order the gold edition on steam but the problem is i have ps4 to and a lot of my friends on ps4 buying it. On pc i don't know if i can get some of my friends to buy this game because i really want to play co-up with them but yeah if you want 60 fps and nicer graphics pc is the way to go hard choice :(.

DO NOT BUY THE DELUXE OR GOLD EDITION! The base version includes almost everything. The "season pass" is just an early access pass for the free content everyone else will get, plus a couple of cosmetics. It's a waste of money! If you purchased the Gold edition, you're a fool of epic proportions!
Unless you're a content creator or this is the main game you play. There is nothing wrong with buying the gold edition if playing early is important to you

I'm hardcore hardcore but I don't have money to buy the motors edition buut I have enough money to buy the gold one! But I'm buying it digital for pc, which I don't know how to plug the pad because I'm the crew 1 I plugged it with its hardware and it didn't work, buuuuuut I think I'm buying a wheel and pedals next week SO EXCITED
Man that'll be an insane setup! If you're using an xbox 1 controller it should just plug into the computer with a cable. Same goes for ps4 though you may need to download drivers for it

I'm probably preordering the Standard. But I might go deluxe after the Beta. One other question though, should I play the game with a steering wheel or my Xbox controller? I'm a PC player.
I think for this game it would be best with a controller just because of the arcade style. Sim style games are best with the wheel. I've heard the wheel support works half decent so give it a shot and see if you like it! If you don't it's awesome with the controller!
