I'm watching this after carrying my dualtron thunder 3 up the stairs. Holy crap my heart was beating. 126 pounds. I don't wanna risk getting a hernia or something
Great tip. I just got a new scooter and getting it up and down the stairs is trickier than I expected when I fold it and carry. I think this will be much easier.
For those who are saying its too slow ironically youre wrong. Its actually faster if you have a high speed scooter that can go faster than you getting a lightweight scooter that will take longer to get there Only exception is when youre onlt commuting a few miles at most and you're taking multiple floors upstairs
Our stairs are turning so I have developed another method: I place my scooter parallel to the stairs. Then I lift the rear wheel only and place it on upper stair. Then I lift the front wheel and place it on the upper stair. I continue with the front wheel and place it to the upper stair one more time. I go back and I do the same thing for the rear wheel. I always operate step by step (one stair level at a time). No injuries, no damage so far. The straight portion of our stairs goes fast, the curved part requires a little bit more attention. 20 stairs x 2 to overcome for a journey but that is not that bad.
@@FlexitoolGuides I'm running into this issue right now. My stairs are tall and not very long/wide, and the bottom of my deck scrapes the stairs with this method. I'm thinking of just using a shoulder strap to take some weight off my arms.
Check my reply out above. The force of lifting is up the tube, no weight on the tube on its side. Plus this tube is extremely heavy, its not fragile. So, I don't think it's really a factor. Time will tell though... but after about 8 months of this, no issues. If I encounter any will report back! Regards!
Thanks for the tip but this is quite slow technic. Why not just carry it up and down? I do that myself to the third floor. The only difference is that my electric scooter weights something like 35kg, so yours is little bit heavier.
Damn thank you So much for that tutorial damn i Have dulatron ultra 2 And i need to také it upstairs i was like trying to lift up the wheel by wheel but this Is much Faster ND helpful but when im taking it Down well im scared it Will take IT with me 😂 but thanks i think in need to be practice 😅♥️♥️♥️♥️
Man you better rent a garage or buy a light E scooter you can lift up and get unto your apartment because this will take too much time to get it up or down, it's not comfortable.
@@FlexitoolGuides you have wider stairs i have really tight it will take me much more energy to get it up or down, i better rent a Garage or let it down in together room i which im little bit scared to let my scooter because other people can broke it or scratch it.
Yeah, the lighter ones are much easier. But these ones with the longer range, higher speeds etc have the really big batteries, and that is the main source of weight gain. Its like trying to take a big bag of cement up and down, every time.
@@jeremyparton6422 LOL, you are right! This scooter can and does climb mountains! Still going to post on that. Don't get me wrong, though, I am not a great cheerleader for this brand though, I have had problems also. But I am more interested in scooters in general and that is why I am producing these videos. Regards!
250 watts? Christ I could walk faster than that'll go. Are more powerful scooters illegal there? Wtf is going on in Australia with the authoritarianism lately?
Honestly… take some steroids for a couple months and build up a man’s physique. Then about 10 minutes before you lift, do some stretching and some methamphetamines then just pick it up and carry it bruv

Thanks ! good advice for a newcomer to "heavy" scooters
You bet!

Has someone invented a foldable ramp for scooters?
I just did it down stairs fabulous tks.
Awesome! Really happy it helped you!
Beyond helpful, our building elevator always broken so this worked like a charm.
@@shadyws310 Great!
When I ever purchase I scooter I'll remember this 😊
I am glad it might help you at some point! :-)
That's how I've done it for years! Back in the day...

I live on the fourth floor, no elevator and my work office is 600 meters away. Currently using a 5kg electric skateboard.
@@sapitron cool
my scooter is 20kg weight and im only 40kg which is bad for my back . i hope this helps!

Awesome! Good idea for that configuration!
And so on until the morning..
Have you tried using the brake to slowly lower it down
Thanks for your tutorial, It's very useful!
Thank you for the advice❤
You're welcome!
Is it not safe to carry in an elevator?
Can't you turn on the scooter and propel it upstairs with control?
No chance
This scooter doesn't have a sinewave controller so it's full force or nothing
I’m worried about damaging the bottom area😢 so I fold up it aweful 😮
Those are short, low steps. Mine are higher. I'm thinking on how to solve this problem before I buy.
If it looks like that, its the camera lens perspective, the stair tread height is normal. Maybe you can borrow one to test... it's the best way.

Wouldn't that cause damage to the stem?
Looks minimal but good point
I don't think so, the stem is heavy tubing, and you are lifting it vertically, so there is no stress on any joint.

Bro just use the brakes to go down you can inch every step and it's actually gentle if you do it properly
Sure, you prefer that way, all good!

You are welcome. Almost 50kg is like a full bag of cement. It's much heavier. Glad yours is doable by carrying!
I'm disabled and won't be able to lift so this is a great technique for me
I hurt my back doing that, which is why I came to this video 😂
When you have inmotion RS 😬

Hi Lukas! Glad it was useful!
i probably would not buy any heavy ones if i have to lift it up and down stairs. too much work
If you want the range you have to get a bigger one.
And i thought my 24 kg scooter is heavy 🙈
👍

No problem! You spend the money to rent a garage, I will take the 2 minutes to go up and down the stairs!

My steps are way way smaller so the tire doesn't even fit on a step barely is the issues
Depending on the scooter/stairs you can also hold the brakes and just slowly let the scooter go down if you can hold it upright.
Too much ballet..
If it has a deck latch, folt it up and carry it like luggage.
Easy, only almost 50kg!
Use a shopping kart ez
Great suggestion!
Here in Australia we ride much lighter scooters of a LEGAL 250watts
Yeah, the lighter ones are much easier. But these ones with the longer range, higher speeds etc have the really big batteries, and that is the main source of weight gain. Its like trying to take a big bag of cement up and down, every time.
That might be true where you are. 250w isn't enough to climb my driveway, much less a hill.
