The chng tng is legendary.. one of the best in Singapore. Really happy to know that its still ongoing even after the passing of the brother who as he said is a very very wonderful person.
i am 45 years old as today. I remembered when I was serving NS at Bedok camp 3 SIR, I difinitely will tao bao or eat his Ching Tng. Even after I- R.O.D.- , I still go back eat his Ching Tng. And even I Pah Toh, I bring my girlfriend there to eat...Everytime I visited there, Andrew will somehow remember me, he will joke with me and say I grow up liao...i always order the $1.50, but I never felt a single lesser compare to the $2.00 special. Maybe he is just as good as many people mentioned, he really treated soldier like us as his brother. Even after I got married, I would bring my family there still eating his Cheng Tng. I have so much memory of Andrew....But after he passed away, the stall eventually took over by his lao hero red hair sister, and after that his brother, beside the price increase, and ingredients so much lesser, there is totally no meaning going back there anymore...is so much becoming stranger among us, they don't know me...and I don't know them too..Hey Andrew, if you happen to read this, just let you know that I really miss you
Bro I feel for you but I don't think it's fair for you to compare like that. Nowdays even drinks at coffee shop also can go up to $2. If they keep their cheng tng at $1.50, they're not gonna make a profit. Plus, now they have more people running the place, rental is higher compared to back then, inflation of ingredient prices. $3 for a bowl is still relatively cheap lah.
@@SuccessforLifester lai ci (lychee) probably English as we Malaysians pronounce lychee as lai-chee instead if li-chee Kang (idk, man) probably some Chinese dialect In short, I can assume it's a mix of a few languages
It was good and quantity a lot when the original owner was around. The friendly boss even ask me to go back for second round soup top up when I ordered the higher price one. After his passing, I went back, the quantity dropped like half and yet expensive. I ate a second time at a later time and I still feel that it was not value for money.

Also the last time I ate there, it was managed by a sullen face lady who looked as if she hated me for buying the dessert
