@@pentapandamusicDepends on what you prefer, the 51s offer better lows and thus bass, they are also much louder, the 41s offer better highs, they both have great mids although slightly different because of the size of the Speakers. So my personal advice would be if you listen to Dance music or Jazz go for the 51s if you listen to Hip hop and RNB go for the 51s. and if you listen to both sorts then do what I did and buy both :o) MY setup isnt ideal but its working perfectly for me :)

Is there a noticable difference in sound quality between the two, other than the 51's having more power? Especially at lower volumes for desktop use as you have here.

      @shaktastik  4 года назад +10

If ur not planning to play your music loud than the 41s are enough, if I had to return one pair it would be the 41s though but that's because I prefer loud strong and bassy. I however kept both pairs as they were slightly different in producing mids and found them completing each other when playing together.

Great comparison between both models. Had lots of concern wherever pay extra for Klipsch R-51Pm and get it or choose cheaper option like Kanto Yu6, but overall I like crispy sound from Klipsch.
In UK right now for Kanto you need pay £350 and for Klipsch R-51Pm £499. So would go definitely for them.
I'm just beginner of any kind Audiophiles topics and I wanted only active bookshelf speakers to use together with my TV and sometimes with music (electronics eg. Trance, House, Clubbing).
Definitely in the future I will add up subwoofer for my speakers to increase bass.

Hey buddy. Great review you've got here. I purchased a r41pm aswell but finding some difficulties using it. I only use it with usb from surface pro 4. I tried installing asio4all to bypass the windows sound card but whatever I do the volume control in windows can be disabled which basically means im not really taking a digital out through usb. Also im facing with clicks and stutter during playback even with asio4all buffer set to max. Can you advice me how you have configured the klipsch to use with your windows computer and which usb driver you have installed and all.

    • @shaktastik
      @shaktastik  3 года назад

Hi sorry I missed your question earlier, I didn't have to install any extra drivers Windows 10 took care of it, Obviously I have my sound card drivers installed, on device manager my hardware id shows the following if it's any use for you "MMDEVAPI\AudioEndpoints"
and Device description "Speakers (4- USB Audio CODEC )
      "
Also I would make sure you have tried both USB2 and USB3 Ports to see if it makes any difference. You may also have a faulty product. Try it on another machine to make sure. Good luck.

    • @baklap141

Clicks and stutter can be a lot of things.
There is at least a conflict in the computer that is causing it.
I would advise to use the program Latencymon , it analizes what the problem is. It will for sure give the right information to fix the problem.
Just start the pc , start latencymon and hit the green play button , play music and it will see what the cause will be and if your computer has any problems.
It also gives a possible solution how to fix it.
It worked for me when I had clicks and pops in the sound.
Clicks and pops can also be caused by your cpu when it is dipping to low power if its using variable cpu timing.
It happens a lot on hyper threading processors or xeons for example.
Some computer processors just work that way, when doing no heavy stuff it dips to 2.4ghz and then when it needs to work it speeds up to 3.4ghz (my intel did exactly this).
You can turn that off in windows inside the power settings.
Set cpu usage at always 100%.
Also sometimes there are settings about that inside the bios from your computer.
Ive had a lot problems when I was setting up my home studio, Ive searched for 5 days why it was happening.
The solution can be quite simple but first you need to know why it happens.....I was like .....seriously ?!!? 5 days of searching I couldnt find how to fix it , then I use that small program (I found it by accident on a website because someone on a forum said to use it) and it was fixed in a couple minutes 😂🙈

    What would you suggest:
    (Edifier s2000mkiii )
    Or
    (klipsch R51pm + klipsch r120 12” sub )
Main use will be music listening with some movies here and there. Planning on hooking this to tv in living room for now and when budget allows later move this system to a small room with computer and buy a 5.1 for the living room to go with tv.
I kind of like both - edifier for the overall sound + bass (no need of sub, but am i loosing mids and vocal crispness?) , and will the klipsch give more refined mids and highs and sub can solve the bass issue?

    • @shaktastik

Your statement about separating the highs mids and lows is correct and would produce better sound quality for both music and movies. I personally have a sub (SVS 2000) Connected to the Klipschs and the sound is coming crisp from the speakers even at max volume. About the edifier I never owned one so can't advice on that.

Hard to answer as I don't know what soundbar you are going with and also they are different devices for different needs but I'll try my best, with the R51PMs you will get stereo effect as you can have them spread out, so perfect from music, with the soundbar you will have dedicated centre channel that has a crossover that can help you get the best speech control. the soundbar however you will not be as beefy as bassy as the klipsches unless you are going with a subwoofer too. Hello mate, hard question to ask as it depends on ur taste in sound , if it's up to me I would go with the 51s and the 12 inch sub. I had the audioengine A5+ they were great but I didn't keep them I replaced them with the klipsch speakers as I preferred the way the klipsch sounded. I used to look for speakers that were big enough to produce natural bass but given up on that as I noticed the miss and highs fail to deliver when the bass is coming from same box and moved to subs and I never looked back, so the klipsch speakers gave me the highs and mids I was looking for. Don't get me wrong they produce bass buts it's not the shaking bass u expect from a sub. I personally recommend the svs sb2000 sub its slightly pricey but u will never fault them u will feel the bass in ur guts obviously adjusted as required 🙂👍🏽

The ideal sound would be r41pm r51pm and a sub. I cannot recommend anything else as if u remove any of the 4 there will be a gap in the spectrum. However if budget is an issue then a single r41pm with a sub is best. I'm not sure why u want 2 of them unless you are trying to create a surround sound.

Shak Tech Reviews Thanks! It is because of budget issue since option 1 and 2 have the same price now. Btw, 2 is option 2 not 2 r-41pm :))

Hello Shaks I stumbled upon your blog. It's seem very informative. I was wondering if you could help me with something. I have a klipsch 4.0 thx system that I fell in love
With it may be a bit out dated but my sub speakers have fallen apart. So I wanted to now if I could replace them with other and what you would recommend. Both 10 inch deteriorate. Lol please help.
