Piano covers do a great job at bringing out the sublimity of black metal and highlight its essence, I think. Black metal is definitely an acquired taste and is otherwise a bit rough on the ears, especially the low production quality of old school black metal. I'm glad it's niche, though. It makes me appreciate it all the more.

I must say that raw black metal always seemed way clearer to me, harmony-wise, than many MDM and emocore bands, for example. I found piano covers to be the only way to enjoy many songs of the genres properly, while for black metal piano covers are just another way of serving an otherwise already perfectly enjoyable music genre.
But yeah, those covers definitely are something else still.

Why do you talk to people who don't understand black metal

@@supremelordoftheuniverse5449 Haha, to explain them that it is so much more tham just distorted noise, and that it's for me the most beautiful way of expressing emotion trough art. I think without talking about it or explaining it people who don't like metal would never understand.

@user-lr3yu9st3z especially the symphonic side of it, for me at least. I can get lost in the music. It's dramatic, emotional at times, etc. It's soothing in kind of an ironic sense.

Black Metal is very high emotional music. Whenever some of my non BM friends do not understand the beauty, which lies deep down in this genre, I show them a piano cover. It leaves them suprised almost everytime.

So awesome to hear a serious and solemn version of a Darkthrone song my friends and I used to drunkenly belt the lyrics to.

people forget that black metal musicians are musicians and great composers, who mastered the art of their instruments and not just angry satanist kids
