- I had to reload this song because of a few mistakes in the tracking and mixing that need to be corrected. I didn't want to leave it up like that. It sound better now and it don't bother me when I hear it. The normal person would probably not know the difference but the trained ear does. Especially when these versions are played on radio stations across the country.

It was 1992, I was 13 years old and my Dad had just bought a double-cassette album of songs of the late 50s and 60s. The cassettes hardly ever made it to the family stereo because they were always in my walkman. I would listen to these songs over and over at night, imagining I was at a dance and a cute boy would ask me to dance. Hahaha. I was clearly born 20 years too late!
This is my favorite Del Shannon song, He was a genius.
Yes he was. He should have been a bigger star than he was. Del Shannon did have a very good voice, but I think his huge hit "Runaway" more or less over-shadowed any of his other recordings. I really like him, especially with this song and "Hats Off To Larry"! Such a talented man! Thank you for the upload!
Usmale 49 "Hats Off To Larry" is a very great song. But I think that "Guild the Lily, Lily" shouldn't of been the B side to "Hats Off To Larry". Del probably could've had a hit song with it, but Del Shannon decided what songs were going to be released. It was also a great song since Max Crook also did great work with his Musitron.
Yep...The enhanced version sounds great !!! Who is still listening to this song in 2020 ? Most likely who will probably be still listening in 2021? Because Del Shannon's music is timeless !!!
Still listening to this beautiful song in 2024 at 72 yo! RIP Del and bless us baby boomers ❤and all those who create produce and enjoy this timeless music ❤🎉
The 60's would not have been the same without Del, big deal on AM radio with a reverb in your back seat. Miss the drive in movies!
Yep........in my '65 GTO.
@@glennspears839 Seeing the tail lights of my '64 Chev 409 SS?
@@glennspears839 Bet you either wish you still had it, or are very glad you have it if you do.
Remember that era very well. My high school fondest memories. My friend Ray has a 1964 Olds with reverb in the back deck. There was FM radio ( one station) but when Del Shannon worked his magic that 64 Olds became an instant chick magnet! What a beautiful time to be alive! God bless you Del.and all my fellow baby boomers!
I have the factory Am/Fm radio and Reverb in my 67 Ford convertible
I know this takes time & hard work, but sir---for those of us who grew up with this music, I say : " THANK-YOU !! " ----from all of us . -------------WolfSky9
yep wolfsky
Yes sir. An oldie but goodie for mature folks like us.
Yes absolutely mature folks is baby boomers 😊
Takes me back to my youth, sorry Del left us, still play his songs often.
RIP Mr Shannon.
I wish I could have seen you in concert!!!!!!!!
Thanks very much to the kind folks for sharing this song with us!!!!!!
An extremely talented musician who left us waaaaay to soon. Depression is a serious problem. Unfortunately for Del he paid the ultimate price. This song has always been my favorite. He will continue to be missed by many.Myself included.
I had this album on 8 track back in the day. Played it to death! RIP DEL! You helped music and life go through the times my friend.
And those of us in our 70's and 80's, understand how the malt shop, and the drive Inn Movie Theater was so important back in the 50's and 60's! And the music was just the greatest on our AM Radio back in the day!
Fantastic song writer, and singer, boy did he know how to hit those high notes!! So sad how he took he's own Life, but he will live on forever in the hearts of us that love his timeless songs, that helped us through our own relationships, therefore relating to those wonderful love story beat ballad songs, as if they were written for us.god bless you Del Shannon.RIP.🌹
I've heard the song a lot of times, but this version is my song of the month.
I really love this 1963 hit....😊❤
It's 1962 release
This song takes me all the way back to 4th grade.. a place I still haven't left yet.
Back when a town was small enough for a town flirt to reign and capture all the boys fantasies
Ya know, this song should be considered as the "Flagship Hit" for Del Shannon. It's the one song that can be played over and over again. Rock On.
Still magic! Sends me amazing vibes....EVER!
A great dance song. Memories from the 60's.
Del would be proud! That background should've been from 1962 as well as a second version! That absolutely was awesome!
Love the added drum fills/rolls... well done !!!
Wow does this enhanced version sound great !!!!!! Love the drumming enhancement.
The backing vocalist on this are weirdly mesmerizing
Thanks Kenn for bringing new life into some classic Del Shannon. Boy what a difference in tonal quality.
Bob Babbitt on bass on this and most of Del’s hits. After his time recording with Shannon, he moved on to Motown becoming one of the legendary Funk Brothers crew then later thumping his bass lines for many other recording stars. Interesting how one of the most admired and recorded bass players in history started out backing Del Shannon.
Amazing thanks for info. any info on who played drums?
@@recordguy4321 My educated guess is Hal Blaine.
@@jaybennett236 no way did hal play on little town flirt. Hal was busy in L.A in 62 it was a detroit area drummer where del recorded or someone from Michigan. I doubt the producers would fly Hal to Michigan for a one off single back then. Hal had enough work to keep him busy for the next ten years doing double and triple sessions a day
Bob had started his hit making career with The Royaltones and their instumental hit "WAIL"
Awesome job and an awesome song. Del Shannon had a lot of talent and a great voice.
Man do I miss these days. Everything was so less complicated and the world wasn't as evil .
The song little towy flirt and it is a awesome and excellent song. It is a amazing and wonderful song and deserve to be a classic and beautiful song. I have added it to my playlist.
This is really great! I thank you so much for posting this.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time and the enhancement is out of this world. Listening to others, it doesn't even sound like the same song. Beautifully done. I am quite certain that at least half of the views on this video are mine. Thanks so very much.
Kenn : my thanks to you one more time for all the great work you've done. As a guy who grew up in this era, I say from my heart : Thank-you. ------------------------Wolfsky9, 74 y/o
Wish we could of saved you Del, there's always something that could of been done, but as much as someone can do for another person if your heart is all in on what you did, only CHRIST could of stopped you, and I wish to GOD we had all prayed for you, and my words to you would of been to pray with all your heart soul mind and all your strength, to the FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT, Amen
This. Is. Gorgeous.
Magic days listening to Del.
I particularly like the added guitars, specifically in the neginning of the song and the tambourine. Nice job. Kenn EDB
Little Town Flirt and Runaround Sue 😂 sorry they just remind me of each other. I love Del Shannon and I love Dion
Two of my all time favourites!
Very interesting and good sounding enhancements of two of my favourite artists: Del Shannon and The Association. thank you very much!
Tom did they sing along came. Mary x
Backing vocals are really nice in this version. Thanks. I've got the LP of Del's Greatest Hits. A lot of good songs there.
If you aren't familiar with Peter and Gordon's achingly beautiful 'I Go to Pieces,' you owe it to yourself to give it a listen. This one song of Del's gives a whole new meaning to the word 'immortality.'
Kenn babe -- you did an amazing job with this. It should be THE version of the song. Del is still the center piece and not overwhelmed by the terrific enhancements you did. I knew Del as friend and he was a fantastically funny guy-- I was devastated when I go the phone call from Shirley the morning after his death. He had just sent me some tracks from what would be "Rock On" and at that time I did not see the depression but as it stands- it was his suicide note. He was just on the verge of a massive comeback-- but: that's life.
Amazing you knew him - what a privilege. But goes to show, these gods of rock 'n' roll were real people, just like the rest of us...
His manager muscled in the Del's rights
Thank you, Thank You. I just found several of your new enhanced versions and they are all GREAT! Well done.
Great job, Kenn, on all the songs. Thank you!!
man .... its like a whole new song!!!
Nice and clean. You can even hear the hand clapping in the background. Well done!
Del was a leader in the rock & roll movement. He will always be noted as a legendary writer and recording artist. One of the best and a tragic loss to the recording business !!
Thank you, Sirs, for the beautiful work you have done here. I am a musician/songwriter, and I just heard parts of this song I have never heard before. It has a whole new dimension to it.
Thank you for the time and effort you put into this!
Thank you for doing this!
MP3 pulls out lots of stuff. You added it back. Thank you. 👍👍
Loved this song !Thank you
memories of the 60's, playing "Stick Ball" on West 88st. (NYC, NY)!
THIS semi-untrained ear can certainly hear the difference!
Del was great in a lot of ways. His music was his alone!
I'm finally back on-line Kenn. And your the first channel I check up on when I go on-line. Glad you just did another great enhancement. Love the timing. It was worth a week's wait.
Love this song!
Nice Job Kenn...I think Del would be real proud of you. I did hear the enhance track cut off a couple of milliseconds early though:)
Love his music
Just another example of the great music that was out in the early 60's.To dance to this music was
just plain BOSS.Ya I know how uncool that statement is but you just don't know what you missed!
It was pretty "cherry" too!
@Jay Kavanagh It is a "Bitchin" song alright! Thanks!
@Jay Kavanagh Seems as if you've had a full and wonderful life! Bless you and your wife. All my best to you both!
usmale 49
Great job, now sounds more balance
Great Song❤️
Those were the good times
oh man, brings me back to junior hi, and all the new life experiences!
AWESOME
Thank u Spencer Marshall
Wow I can hear handclaps and organ that I hadn't heard before. Great mixing
I AGREE WITH ALL THE PRAISE FOR THIS REMIX, BUT WITH ONE EXCEPTION , AND THIS IS A PERSONAL CHOICE. I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THE THUMPING BASS ON THIS RECORD, ESPECIALLY WITH THE INTRO, WHICH SEEM'S TO HAVE BEEN TONED DOWN. MAYBE THAT'S THE PRICE FOR ALL THE EXTRAS IN THE BAND WIDTH ? BUT STILL GREAT, I LOVE BOTH.
well done, super, thanks.
Thank you
Another woderful job Kenn... I onyl wish you were in England where I could Meet you !.... Ant
Good job, sounds great
I can only say what seemed normal back then as a teen and taken for granted I can honestly say I grew up during the greatest era of music , cars and prosperity. What is was replaced by decades later is terrible .........
Great job on the remix Kenn..I like the claps. If you get bored, try claps from start to finish, might be interesting.
Backup singer harmony, heaven. Nice percussion.
Nice percussion? Probably Hal Blaine of the "Wrecking Crew"!
I love it!
Oldies But Goodies... The Best!!
Good job all around!
Great memories of the Civic Hall, Orpington 1963 'ish!
Fabulous voice. Xxx
Again Kenn : thank-you so very, very much for your work with the music of my youth. ---------------WolfSky9, 71 y/o
Very nice!

Thx again Mr Wingle !! ------------WolfSky9
Why do people feel the need to add stuff to a recording that was PERFECT to begin with?????
Nice song (: I really like Del
The best of the best. Got it, new generation punks.
Still top of the bill twanger !
EXCELLENCE!
How cool is this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was the best
Ole Del sounds great on this one.
The record company rip him for all his Royalties that though him into a deep depression and took his own life a shame
Tragic that he took himself out. So much talent !
I've got that Australian "Little Town Flirt" EP .
I was in Perth WA in 1975, walked through a lane way past a pub and the side door was open, could hear this Del Shannon music and you could see Del singing on a small stage.
See you have enhanced "Friday On My Mind" by the Easybeats. Any chance of doing their 3 big Aussie hits prior to Friday, "She's So Fine", "Wedding Ring", and "Sorry"?
My first 45 purchase !!!!!!!!!
Nice enhancement on this one.
Tom K.
Brilliant reproduction well balanced sound. Could you please upgrade the Rolling Stones SATISFACTION. It used to be available !
On my radiogram the lyrics suffered.😂
16 then, gulp ! 😂
Sounds Like New... Smooth & Laid Back Style
良い曲ですね。僕は大好きです。
AM radio. Boss Radio.
Hi, thanks for this version. It sounds wonderful ! Can you explain what kind of enhancements you made ? Best, LA Guy
Yeah, the background singers !
Well lets see. Without listening to the backtrack session it sounds like I added an Epiphone 6 electric guitar on the left channel and a 6 string acoustic on the right. A wave organ in certain parts, added percussion and stereo vocals and a tambourine. I think that's it. Kenn
