- She started puking green sludge from the catch can, and had excessive blow-by. That can't be good can it? This video we do an initial prognosis, of hopefully something easily fixed like a head gasket.

Liked the video, didn't like what happen to the old girl. Never fun when the toys break. Glad you were able to identify it before catastrophic failure. Keep the content coming!
Great video Mike! Unfortunately turbocharged cars tend to blow out head gaskets frequently it’s just part of going fast and hot rodding. Best of luck with the rebuild brother.
Thank Scott. Appreciate it, its getting back together now, slowly!
Great update on the 86! Thanks again for getting new size options on your T's. I scored 2 for myself and one for my homie (we both pudgie basterds these days and need 3X)
Sweet man! Thanks Gerry! That's awesome, and no probelm, its just a metter of changing the tee type to get the broader size options! These shirts are cool, sorta help support the channel and I literally make 2 bucks off a shirt...so never made the "merch" for any profit. Just want to make some unique Foxbody related Tees...Man you have my email, let me know here, or email back how they turn out.
Sorry to hear this for you. Great job diagnosing the issue without ripping the engine apart before hand. You caught this early on so you may get by with some gaskets as long as that #7 cylinder isn’t scared up. May not be a bad idea to put fresh oil in it and prime with a drill to flush the bearings of any coolant if you are not doing a full tear down. Prime for about 10 minutes and let sit over night. Then drain the oil, change filter and top off with fresh before you fire it up. Hoping for an easy recovery for ya!
Yeah, thanks man. hopefully this just happened. Camera looked like plenty of cross hatch left but…well see
Found a glitter party on my 95 gt last week... I feel you!
Sorry to hear about your troubles.
ALL GOOD! we'll get it fixed
Excellent video, Thumbs up!
What up! Thanks man! BTW, wifes loving Calypso ;)
@@HOUSEOFDULA I'm glad you guys ended up with it. We wanted it to go to a good home and it did. We need to get together one of these days. Take it easy brother.
That would bum me out, sorry to see that happen to you. It's the danger of running an engine that someone else home built.
I will say that endoscope was clutch in solving your issue. Great tool to have handy.
Oh yeah! A little bummed. We have a lot going on, and im already behind on EgoBruise but is what it is
Sorry for your troubles, but great diagnosis!! Still watching for the eco boost!!
I'm glad you found it but I'm sorry you have to pull it apart.
All good! Gotta go through it and we'll just get it fixed and back on the road.
Oh the fun, I feel the pain brother.
glad you got it figured out!
That's I'm doing! So good by
Sorry you are having issues. Great video though. Keep the content coming. I like the Channel. I’ve been working on my car like crazy trying to get ready for car show season here in CT. But it’s been 15 degrees last few nights. So over this weather. Best of luck brother.
Already getting in the 90s here in a few wills will be too warm to wrench! Much appreciate the comment.
Sorry man yeah I remember you pulling the engine, can't believe it's been that long ago hopefully you can get it fixed soon
intake gasket blowing on air side
burning coolant on intake side
That sucks man. Sorry to hear that. hopefully it hasn't been going on for to long.As you probably already know That coolant can wipe your bearings out real quick. Ask me how I know. Best of luck.
Yeah I hope their good, oil looked milky but not shiny. Id hate to go through all this work and find out the motor is short lived
@@HOUSEOFDULA I think you caught it early enough.
I love skipping ahead and just seeing a big ol' gut hanging loose in the garage.
Maybe I should have given people a heads up, but then again who cares lol If you watch this channel often neighbor "80's Kevin" rolls up when he wants and is 99% shirtless...somethings I cant control brother, is what it is
I had the same issue, ended up being a bad intake gasket. That might be what's causing a causing a vacuum leak giving your boost controller false readings too.
Man you might be spot on! Didnt even think about it causing a vacuum leak, bad signal to controller AND ECU.
Stay positive. It’s probably just a head gasket man. You will be good. Bigger question I have is the root cause of the over boost. Was it really just a car show knob turner or is there something else going on?
Appreciate it. Well i think its been a slow leak for some time. Over boost? I mean the tune did its job and cut spark and fuel, but thats pretty rough on the motor. One thought is the thinned out oil just allowed the turbo to spool faster, idk. Or the boost controller is shot.
Which Albertsons’ you talking about? Guessing it’s in Mansfield.
287 and sublett
Travis got it. Its actually Arlington.
Hey Dula, I also have an 86 with a bone stock engine. I wanted to put heads cam and an intake on it in the future but I’ve been reading that the 86s came with flat top pistons that won’t work with a bigger cam or even some aftermarket cylinder heads without valve reliefs.
Do you know if this is true and did you have any issues with it during the process of working on your motor?
This sir is true. You CAN do some mild cam upgrades without interference, but have to be careful and check piston to valve clearance. On wilder cams you can also cut valve reliefs yourself. So, once my 86's engine was tired I planned to rebuild with new pistons, aftermarket heads etc. but I ran into that 89 car that had a fresh rebuild in it I puchased, and threw it in, in place if the 86. The heads on an 86 are also pretty weak sauce...a good upgrade is leave the stock cam and pistons, throw on 3 bar GT40 heads, and GT40 intake and it will really wake up.
9333pt head gaskets and call it done.
Exactly
they have been on my blown 408w for a year now. love those hgs
That was the longest explanation of a nipped head gasket ever. Lol.
Welcome to the channel! lol I talk a lot.
Where is fox fest?
Xtreme Raceway Ferris. June 12th
How long did you say you've had the car for? I know you didn't say 40 years lol
Yeah lol im old, not that old! Had it 6 years, motor 4 years.
