I've been a paying customer for over 13 years and over the last few years had been getting frustrated with Evernote problems, however I'm delighted to see that the corner has been turned and the product is now much more stable, has a clear development path, much better communication (through these monthly updates), and obviously now has a secure future. I'm very glad that I stuck with Evernote through the tough times and am now reaping the rewards of that decision. Keep up the good work 👍

Ditto - When SpringPad closed in 2014, they suggested EverNote. For a while it seemed like a mistake. Since the new revamp, it's been getting better. Though not all changes were good, the overall direction is very good, and quality is noticeably better. I'd suggest more testing and fewer releases. It is a stable product. Add or change features more gradually. Good work. Thanks!!

yes, new team/owner try to renew product. But month ago I lost couple important (for the court trial) attached docs in Evernote. And EN support did not provide me a solution to recover, nor even reasonable reply. So, it still dangerous to store important documents in EN. Even if you are paying for it.

As an Evernote user since 2008, thought about leaving a number of times, the Bending Spoons acquisition of Evernote will be a Business School masterclass in how an acquisition completely re-invigorated a dormant and tired software product. Awesome work. Worth every penny. Keep it going BS team. ❤ it.

I have been with Evernote since 2012 using it essentially as a filing cabinet. Reading all the naysayers comments over the years saying “to few updates, no new functions, syncing issues etc & with Bending Spoons buying Evernote the pessimism grew & now look at what’s happening Evernote is coming back to the top of the pile where it belongs. Well done & we now have a comprehensive digital notebook that’s going places fast. 👏👍

I cannot agree. Accessing any note on my mobile is significantly slower (the new starting page is useless to me), and I cannot use it on my elderly laptop because of oversize (I have absolutely no problem using MS Word or Antidote on the same device). And I payed a considerable amount of money for that...

⚠️⚠️⚠️ Whatever you do just make sure the complex text formatting and UI features don't make the experience on mobile devices laggy and buggy just like Notion. It's far better to have the mobile version simple while offering complex features on desktop and web than having a bulky, laggy and buggy app on phone as the majority of the note taking happens from the handy devices like phones.
Good progress. Feels good that I put my 4 grand per year subscription money on EN. Hoping to have a smoother and productive experience. 🎉

I love that you're iterating on Tasks. I've been a longtime user of Toodledo but would love to combine my tasks into Evernote and have it all in one place. What you're missing from Tasks is the ability to add folders or tags to tasks, so I can view them in buckets - like Project 1, Project 2, etc. Also, Context is key - so phone calls, computer, Things to Listen to, etc. Both of these fields would need to be customizable. If you did that, I could cancel Toodledo, move everything into Evernote, and I would never be able to leave!
Thanks for all the new attention on the product. It keeps getting better!

Great new features and I'm excited to see the 'pin a note' feature coming soon. That will solve a problem I have where I want a particular note to always appear at the top of all the notes list no matter how they are sorted. Right now I have to preface the title of such notes with "00." so the note is at the top when I sort by title. It works but isn't aesthetically pleasing.

    • @hn29723

The calendar feature seemed GREAT to me
It would be great to be able to apply labels to full screens for Tasks. For example, the same labels that we apply to notes, such as important priority or not important.
Another point is that when you make a reference or position yourself in a note, it would be nice to be able to open the folder that contains it, but also to show the Stack in the folder path, because when you have multiple stacks and hundreds of folders within the stacks, we have trouble finding them. Another interesting point is that labels can also be applied to folders and stacks, and that colors can be assigned to the names of the folders and TITLES, whose color is also shown in the lists of Notes, so that we can quickly identify with the colors the notes and types of notes, areas of life, for example, everything green for work, blue for health, and urgent in RED, etc. Thanks for the great work, congratulations on this method of communication that makes us more loyal to EVERNOTE. I hope you respond to me about what you think of my suggestions.

Could we please get back the old Evernote home on mobile! The Evernote Home with widgets was great. The new Evernote home offers shortcuts that are already on your homescreen widgets and finding back recent or pinned notes has become much more difficult.

    • @TyrusPeace
      @TyrusPeace 2 месяца назад

The Notes button gives you a full list sorted by most recent, and the Shortcuts button gives you a recent list as well as a customizable list of your shortcuts. I didn't like this change initially, but it's honestly faster for me now. Scrolling sideways through my recent notes was always awkward and slow in the old home UI, and scrolling to my shortcuts was slower than just clicking the new button.

The only feature I wish you guys had, would be if I can assign who a task is for, without requiring them to have an account or enter their email address.
I'm the only person in my company with an account and when I create tasks that I need to assign to people in my company (for my own tracking on who to follow up with) I can't assign it to a specific person if they don't have an account. I hope that makes sense, and I hope one day I'll see that feature. Massive QoL that would be

Really like the new table of contents feature! Makes my large book/course notes way more usable, specially together with the collapsible sections.

I also held on to Evernote for years, despite trying Notion and all newish things, and I'm glad I did: it's finally moving ahead. As for the calendars: "if you just didn't want to connect an external calendar"? Well, Apple Cal still doesn't exist here, does it? I am aware it's the tricky one, but, you know, people use it. I do. Better tasks is a good addition, albeit the risk of bloating the entire thing again; just don't forget about the design - it does look a bit bland. Linking up task management in 3rd party apps like Meistertask or ClickUp is much more important in my workflow at least.

I have used other note programs and have worked with Evernote since 2017. I have always thought it was a simple and powerful tool. After all the notes I've catalogued, it would be useful to have the ability to archive many of the older ones (Notebooks/Stacks/Notes). Don't hesitate to develop an 'Archive' feature to store older data (i.e., 'Notebooks - 2017'; Notebooks - 2018' ...

Thanks for the update! I'm happy to see some new changes.
When will Syntax Highlighting be implemented? There's no better note-taking app than Evernote, but this is the only reason I'm always looking for something else.

    - In calendars, when you click on a note, it only allows you to insert events from the calendar that are already created. However, it does not let you create a new event from the note.
    - For repetitive tasks, it would be good to have a history in the calendar of the times it was completed, and the times it had issues, with a linked note showing the completion history, such as the date, checkbox, a completion counter, and percentage of completions in that history. This would allow for evaluating how satisfied one is with the results obtained and planning how to achieve what was desired. It could also include options to indicate satisfaction levels, like happy, okay, congratulated, etc. This way, a simple analysis could show whether we met the expectations in those tasks or set of tasks, enabling us to correct, improve, or feel proud of the progress and achievements. It's a way to become aware more quickly of the path traveled.

    2) hyperlinks within notes to help navigate long notes (looking forward to the table of contents update!! )
    3) ability to embed maths funcions (like in excel) in tables
    4) email note to append to an existing note with same subject

Is there any chance of an add today’s date button in the mobile app where a keyboard command does not work. I have a lot of running notes with sections divided by dividers and date.

The new task fields are great but cannot be used if you use both the Windows/Web and Android versions since the description field and priority field don't show up in Android. Good to hear that these will be coming.

I have been using it since 2010. I keep business and personal things of interest. I use the email feature the most in saving for groups and task, and reminders. It would be useful to have a command line useable when forwarding an email. Especially the divider command.

Great to have a table of content. However, the table is not adjusted if you add a new header or new titles in the note. Please fix this.
