- Man, this was a close one. The Crankhub Bolt was actually lose... Hardly ANY torque on the bolt itself. We were close to this hub spinning for sure. One of the friction discs was also damaged. Today we upgrade to the insane 2 pin crankhub!

Really looking forward to this series, I'm at 115k miles in my daily F80. Iv done most of the common maintenance at 100k but looking forward to see what else has failed or needs replacing
It’s crazy how prices vary. Here in Germany for 6k you can get a good used s55 engine. In America they charge 5k just for replacing the crankhub. But when i see the Market place in USA, used M4‘s are like 10k cheaper then here in Germany… crazy
this shop is just a tad expensive. in atl where im at its 3300 for the service with the RK Autowerk 4 Pin crank hub
maybe cuz those parts are fixed price from bmw or aftermarket whereas price of the car is based on depreciation. My e92 was 30k used but the rod bearings are still 3k to replace, same way they were 3k if I were to replace them when the car was new
@@CaliM3-j3o so e92’s m3 in decent condition are 30k in usa? What are the m4’s priced at? Is practically impossible to find one under 35k here
@@Shari_Tejp m4 are mid to high 40's, high milage can be found for low 40s but its mid 50s for low milage. e92s are like 25-30k for super high milage or convertable ones. Mine was high milage but 2012 competition with red interior and carbon roof, lots of mods and maitenance. So it was worth it. ive seen 2013s that are clean listed for 55k lol

Was predicted when they were introduced, and now confirmed a generation later.

Iv had the V2 spline lock for roughly 60k miles/ 3 years now no complaints
Far superior to someone hand drilling two pins. I’ll be going with the spline lock.
Headlights on F series is damn good. You should do something with your E92 M3. Just try put some aftermarket for content. Will be f... interesting.
Getting the rear wheels off the ground under power will definitely do it. I was there getting my car dynoed at the time. I probably ruined your shot when I left behind Hendel.
I am debating to either get a E92 M3 or a F80/F82 M3/M4. I have had a few bimmers so far but would like a M vehicle. Please anybody provide your opinions bout each cars advantage/disadvantage. Thanks
why on all cylinders compression is around 230 but on cylinder 1 its 210? Does it mean that cylinder 1 has a problem? Just asking. What can cause a bit lower compression in that cylinder?
Its a problem. But small. Engine with 4 cylinders would have bigger issue here.
Does this maintenance concern the DCT and manual or just manual only?

These cars are not for everyone. They are PERFORMANCE vehicles. That comes along with upkeep and maintenance beyond that of a Camry or a civic. For folks like yourself, I suggest sticking with Hondas or Toyotas that will drive cheaply and do so forever with next to no maintenance. We aren’t buying BMW’s for reliability (even though the new ones are very reliable) these are hobbies to us. We enjoy fixing them, wrenching on them and driving them. These cars are not for the Dave Ramseys of the world. 😂
