Jim said recently that he doesn't listen to current music because it depresses him; That he prefers to just listen to the records he already had collected throughout the years.
Them explaining the Glasgow music scene is exactly like the music scene in St.Petersburg where you go to a local show and theres a band on the bill youve never heard of and you go thinking its new but its only a group of about 10-15 people who make bands and keep reforming with a different name every year or two lol
Just a pure amazing pop group Music today is rubbish can't be this music. April skies Darklands Deep one perfect morning this is Jesus and Mary Chain just Put this on you got music to your Ears listen and enjoy Takes you back memories here
You like Jesus Christ image in The Sacred Heart, listen to this track (Some Candy Talking) repeatedly just like the Papal Encyclicals, mysteries of the Holy Rosary, 3 o'clock habit, evening novenas. Who knows a miracle might happen!
Great interview and their honest. The Eighties pop sound was drivel by the time Psychocandy came out. Guitar music made a comeback by 1986. These guys did not sound like Led Zeppelin, Purple or Sabbath. They put a bomb up the seriously arrogant and pretensious English alternative scene.
It wasn't drivel at all. Good bands of integrity existed if you ventured off the top 40. Even the Charts had good bands 'invade' it occasionally, as well. People just like to be nostalgic and soppy for what was instead of appreciating what *IS*
Omg we need these groups again, the misfits, outsiders, the amazing 1's. Today's pop is crap!
As it was *then,* (if you listen to their complaints about the music scene of the time
They’re my Fashion inspo 😂. If they were saying this then, I can’t imagine what would say now about the pop music of today

i've watched this so many times
it was on French television, "Antenne 2" channel, in a show called "Les Enfants Du Rock"
Cool, Thank You!
Ah, but the noise they made was so goddamn beautiful.
Ughhhh I love them!
Part of this interview also aired on 120 Minutes.
Really?
Surprised a homeless crow didnt take up residence in one of those hairdos with them flagrantly sitting on that rooftop like that
Jajaja I love those guys in this interview what would think about the music today?

Jim hated the charts then but compared to today's music the 80's charts were a Golden Age.
Your channel is the bomb bro.

Amei epco

Rob Gordon's Championship Vinyl. Barry will set you straight.
Now 99.9 per cent of the music is rubbish
