    Thank you for stressing why it's so important to disengage the safety lever. Sometimes we can get complacent, and that's when accidents occur. Great video bro

    That's a great video, you covered everything pretty well and I definitely appreciate you talking about the lockout bar, every time somebody wants to come up and chat, swing it up! Even they could grab your left joystick and next thing you know the machine's swung and they've got no legs. Its worthwhile being paranoid over some things.
    I want to add that you don't actually have to lube the swing bearing every time you lube, you should do it once for every five times you grease the pivots, depending on the machine you can absolutely damage the bearing by overloading it with grease.

      Thanks for the comment! I agree with being paranoid. Some things have consequences that a too severe.

    You are the best teacher/vblogger of Heavy Equipment Operation. I am a TESDA Heavy Equipment Operation Trainer here in the Philippines and I always share your great videos to my trainees. It is very easy for them to understand your informative and clear instructions. Can I request a shout out from your next videos?

    Very interesting to see the larger machines and the similarities to the mini ex. I always learn something . And not mentioned often enough by others -- disable the controls if you aren't actively operating. Please remind viewers using or renting a mini how critical it is to wear a seatbelt because of their inherent instability when lifting over the side. Regards from Ontario Canada.

    Wow! Thank you for this information. You and your team have a great thing here.I have to say, you may have just saved my life or someone I know. I am 65 years old and I have never been on an excavator before. I spent some time on a couple of dozers. So I do have some experience with track work.But that was about 40 years ago. I’ll keep watching more of these videos because I’m going to be purchasing one of these at around 5,500 lbs. Thanks again.

    Good stuff bro. I own a 320Cl and Komatsu 120 and everytime i have a labourer working close to the machine i pull the safety lever when i am not actively digging. I always show my guys your videos so that they can get a good understanding. When i try to show them i just end up cussing and ready to send their asses home 🤣. Hailing from The Bahamas

    Well done, I feel like I know so much more about these awesome machines I'm recording. Kind of reminds me of a modified pre-trip for a semi-trailer. My son and I enjoyed watching the whole video but the in-cab part was out favorite 👍🏻 Good reminder for that safety bar, dangerous stuff.

    SAE (backhoe - boom on left control) / ISO (excavator - boom on right control)... and always buckle seat belt before engaging the safety lever to operate. The only three things I can add to this video - otherwise, a very nice orientation.

    Very important tip, after your safety checkup and you go to fire the machine up, turn the key once so the electronics engage and you hear the beep, make absolutely sure you say aloud "yea she's fuckin mint bud" and then fire it up

    Can you tell us what you think the best way to get your excavator level with a mini excavator it is easy because of the blade but how do you that without the blade?

    • @DieselandIron
      @DieselandIron  3 года назад +2

      Sure! I'll try to make a video on this in the somewhat near future. In the meantime, use the bucket to dig a slot for your Trac to sit in on the high side. If you did your slot even with the low side when you pull forward into the slot you created your excavator will actually sit even. It's a little hard to explain through text so I'll try to get a video up pretty quick here to demonstrate

    Great safety advice at the end. Until it happens, people don't realize how easy a jacket pocket or something will bump those active controls.

    Not certain, but I’m pretty sure I saw somewhere that the swing bearing is once every 250 hours

    • @DieselandIron
      @DieselandIron  3 года назад +1

      You are correct. Most machines state that the swing bearing doesn't need to be hit that frequently. That being said, grease is allowed to spill out the side of the bearing so you won't damage anything by "over" greasing. Due to how expensive that mama is, I've always greased it a couple times a week.
