Filling out the sound with notes already under your fingers; a simple but powerful technique I did not know. This is an epiphany for me to play at a higher level. Thank you!

Excellent video instruction! Accompaniment rhythm and how to fill in the spaces has always been a weakness for me. I have watched many other videos on the subject and it’s like they pretend to be trying to help, but in fact, they seem to not want to give away the “secret” of what they are really doing. Thank you so much for your explanations and demonstrations!

Yes this is heaven... Amazing how inspiring and it brings one courage to express oneself, waw! You know dear that I am more like you, I can't explain what is inside me musically... is more like a spiritual thing that is being expressed through music. I can very humbly make up things and get away with😉 and be thankful that it works and sounds nice, but I think what you're explainig here I more or less experience myself (i have no clue of music, I do it by ear and my ears and the songs let me know when is not right and then ajust it then is fine... is funny how it works🙂, but it suits me perfectly. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, wonderful you're🙂👏.

Maybe you could include a link to that video here as well, and perhaps later you'll make a whole playlist of just accompaniment videos!

Hi Francesca, I’m 65 years old and teaching myself how to play the piano. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you. I have been looking for piano accompaniment rhythm patterns tutorials on RUclips. There are several teachers such as yourself that have covered this topic. What I found lacking in the tutorials is the use of popular songs (not just “Let it be”) to demonstrate the use of the various patterns. Are you planning to create such a tutorial. Thank you in advance, and a big hug from Canada.

I’ve been playing a digital piano for a year as of March, so hoping to implement what you’re showing here to start filling in the sound on some of the songs I’ve written and composed. I like the idea of alternating with the thumbs and breaking the chords going up or down based on the melody. I’ll be doing some experimenting with this.
    Thank you!

I know how to play chord progressions even in inverted forms but this rhythm patterns to fill out the notes looks really daunting. It looks hard to learn it by yourself. This is where you will need a piano teacher sitting beside you and teaching you the patterns. I’m a complete beginner by the way.

Merci for this, another great video with useful info.
When you did the 2-5-1 progression, the 5 was a G Major chord, but you used the dominant 7. Is that because the 5th is the tonic chord? Otherwise it should have been F#, n'est-ce pas? I'm just learning music theory with sevenths so it might be a dumb question.
