- For just a moment, think of what will matter one minute (or even one second) after any one of us dies. As believers, we will go immediately and directly to Heaven.
Remember, Heaven is bacteria-free, terrorist-free, accident-free, anxiety-free, and evil-free.
The admission is also free, but the only treasures we will have in Heaven are the ones we sent ahead. Christ assures us we can’t buy anything there. All wealth in Heaven is pre-paid wealth. All that will be there waiting for us is that which was sent ahead at a significant cost to us, the sender.
How do we measure what counts in Heaven and what doesn’t?
How do we know what to send ahead?
One sobering warning about Heaven is from Pastor Jan David Hettinga in his 1996 book entitled Follow Me. He lists three terrible dangers that can rob anyone of finishing well and earning Christ's well done. These three areas should concern all of us who seek Christ's full rewards in Heaven. He says:
1. Beware of the sins of old age: lust for comfort and convenience, greed for recognition, and covetousness for security. The sins of old age can erase Christ's well-done. Remember Solomon.
2. Beware of the problem of "Exceptionism", which makes me think my life is an exception to God’s Word. Thus I can excuse myself from doing anything for Heaven because of my past, or my pain, or my poverty, or my poor self-image. The problem of "Exceptionism" can erase Christ's well done. Remember Ananias and Saphira.
3. Beware of the unmortified pockets of pride. Allowing these pockets to grow and not be dealt with can make me proud of my intellect, achievements, giftedness, or goodness. Pockets of pride in my life can erase Christ's well-done. Remember Lot.
Listen carefully with me to Jesus to avoid these dangers and help us prepare for Christ's well done in Heaven. He maps out a life that will win His well done.
Lesson one, is there only one thing you want to hear one second after you die? Have you started to dream about winning the ultimate prize, which is hearing Christ's words, “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of your Master’s Home!”

Pastor please 🙏 pray for me. I struggle in pain, 😢 my back is hurt my left leg 🦵 hurts my back and neck and my right arm 😢 I suffer so badly. I am living a Holy life pleasing to God. I take lots of pain medication 💊 I break out now from the 💊 medication. All over my body. I tried not taking the medication but I hurt so bad I can't get out of my bed. Please Jesus have mercy on me😢 help me lord! I need to be healed! 10 Herniated discs in my back.

So many comments that sound as if people weren't paying attention to what Dr. Barnett was teaching. Heels being dug in to protect one's precious position. There's nothing that he said that was unclear. He was teaching about rewards in heaven, even bringing Solomon's life in as an example of starting but not finishing well. Where did he say anything about losing one's salvation?

Wow! I knew Pastor Hettinga personally. Attended Northshore Baptist Church in Bothell WA. Wonderfull family, church, etc. I was part of a church plant which they helped. Part of the Baptist General Conference. I have the book Follow Me.
Many of these comments reflect is a common error, salvation and rewards are two SEPERATE things.
We gain eternal life by believing in Jesus and his substitutionary sacrifice for sin, but the rewards (treasures) we will receive in Heaven are dependent on how well we obey, serve and suffer for Him in this life we live on Earth.
There are many, many scriptures that clearly show this is how it works. Pastor John only quoted a few. 🕊️

Dr. Barnett, what words can I say that describes learning under your tutelage. Maybe, Thank you for being steadfast in your calling. Your perseverance; 10 years studying the book of revelation, defending your thesis to the best biblical professors, and then, teaching it to lay people in a manner that is understandable is serving God’s kingdom well. Mrs. Barnett, you are to be commended! You were patient and long suffering as you supported your husband for years, while birthing and training up your 8 (I think?) children in the way they should go. Thank you both for demonstrating how God’s purpose for His followers fans the flame and spurs us on in our walk. To the point as it relates to this teaching. I went to amazon to order the book you shared; it isn’t available. Perhaps you know a resource I may use.❤

Just believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins was buried and rose again the 3rd day by which we are saved, 1 Corinthians 15 1-4kjv. Ephesians 2 8-9kjv teaches no works for salvation. Rightly divide the Word of Truth, 2 Timothy 2 15kjv.

I have no desire to climb the corporate ladder… I just have this motivation to make some money for a land and go back to the basic plant and raise livestocks I believe this is the way to avoid receiving the mark… especially for those who are weak like me. I believe that Jesus will intervene to protect us against the enemies who will s controlling most of the world leaders. 7:00 - Solomon ... Yes, he did accumulate lots of gold and silver, as Israelite kings were told not to, however, wasn't his real downfall to do with his lust for women - taking beautiful women from other countries *and then* worshiping their gods. I thought his real sin was leaving God to worship even Baal.
Solomon did not repent. He saw his sin and felt bad BUT he did not change. He worshiped the gods of his wives.
God loved David and was restored.

Wow you did a good job and got to heaven which only good and faithful servants will go to heaven and then God will get all legalistic and show descrimination and partiality and then say to some "well done good and faithful servant" and to others "you can come in but you didnt do too well" wow I didnt know that. Did you get any revelations that were true as well?

Lust for comfort on top of that list... Dont you think the Lord said in Psalms 23, he will lead me to green pastures and still waters and restores my soul... that is comfort the Lord gives you. It is not lustful to have comfort, rather it is a blessing... if you have it enjoy it.
In OT kingdom economy things were given. Cattle wealth. Etc. Not in NT.

Tell me "what Sin's did Jesus not die on the cross for
He died for all. One unforgivable sin: not believing.
Jesus died on the cross for the sin of "Apostasy" - disobedience and separation from God resulting from when we participated to a lesser or greater degree in Lucifer's coup attempt to take Christ's place as King of Heaven. This resulted in 1/3 of Heaven's population, in which we are numbered, being exiled to Paradise. We could have been rehabilitated in reasonably short time except that Adam and Eve, two former Princes of Heaven, failed the test of obedience resulting in our having to return home via the long route through the physical world. Many of the terrible things that we have all committed against other humans in the physical world have been forgiven in part but there are still relationship issues that have to be worked through on earth. We cannot progress in the spiritual world while we hold hatred and resentment for others in our hearts. That is the reason we see so many people born with or suffering varying degrees of afflictions during our lives. That is all part of God's Mysterious Plan of Redemption at work in our imperfect physical world.

Here is what I get about the place called Outer Darkness . Those who have been Redeemed and left the Faith will not reside in the Kingdom of Heaven . They will remain outside and not see the flames of Hell .Heaven has walls and Gates to keep those people outside of the Holy city . Jesus makes it clear 13 times .
Scripture doesn’t say anything about Lott being prideful. In fact, it says he was a righteous man. 2 Peter 2:7-9 New Living Translation (NLT) - Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day.

Where does it say Jesus will not greet other believers because they have less or no rewards upon entering heaven? Appreciate scholars writing books on their perspective; however, it does not trump God’s word. Now we’re telling people what Jesus is going to say? Are we not all glorified at that time? Or am i lost in translation?
When did we see you in need? that is what the believers are saying before Christ welcomes them to heaven. It appears that the believers are doing these things already and have been doing them without the thought that they were being done for any reward.
Personally I fall very short of all these things I am supposed to be doing as I am still in the jaded position that I have few feelings on the matter and no experience of a lot of what a believer is supposed to feel and do. How do you tell someone about the love of Jesus when all you have is a feelingless faith ?

Am I understanding correctly? I am middle aged but quite sick with autoimmune disorders and a neurological disorder. I am nearly bedbound. Is it God's will that I move to a homeless evcampent and read the other's there God's word? While this would seems counterintuitive to my doctors, I want to do what's right. If I had a wheelchair I suspect I could manage maybe short term, possibly long term if I could manage myself and not be a burden to them.

Belief won't get anyone a ticket on the direct train to Heaven. Everyone has to go via the suburban train to Paradise first in order to purify their spiritual bodies and remove the coarsness and dross that has accumulated over many lifetimes in the physical world in order to render themselves fit to re-enter Heaven.

It was just shared with me by a very devout Catholic they believe Israel should not be for the Jews but only for Believers. That only people who accept Christ both Jew and Gentile are able to freely visit the areas where Christ walked and ministered on Earth. Ie (Jerusalem, sea of Galilea, etc. ) I was told the New Covenant is with believers and that God wants Jews to convert and thus being Jew is not then an issue and they therefore don't need a Jewish State. And if someone states they don't support a Jewish state it is not antisemitism. Has anyone ever heard this? I don't agree but... I need some references to support the Land of Israel belongs to the Jews.

Daniel ch9 v24-27 is a prophesy about the Jews in their land the 70th week mentioned is about the 7 year tribulation period. Isaiah ch11 v11-12 prophesy about gathering the dispersed Jews back to their home land. Jeremiah ch16 v15-16 prophesy about gathering them out of many nations back to their land. Jeremiah ch23 v7-8 another prophesy of same. Hope these help.

@@brucewmclaughlin9072 the church is Israel as clearly pointed out in Ephesians 2:12-15. Salvation is of the Jews, not from the Jews. We are Jews inwardly circumsized in the heart, it isn't by blood. And if ye be in Christ then are you Abrahams seed and heirs according to the promise. Your understanding of "under the law" is backwards, because to not be "under the law" means we are new creatures in Christ, obedient to His commandments, not to save us, but because we are saved...FROM SIN, NOT IN SIN. He delivers us out of Egypt (bondage - sin) not in Egypt (bondage - in sin).
@@brucewmclaughlin9072 once he sinned he was under the law, how could he have sinned if there was no law? The Bible is clear, "where there is no law there is no transgression". If Adam didn't have a law, he could not have sinned according to this verse.
