I still wear my Eva, Pochette Métis and Coach Cassie. I love them and use them. I don’t care if they are no longer the “it” bag. I bought them so I use them. 😎. I do have bags I don’t carry as much because my life changed once I retired. I have several Classic Speedy bags but most of the time I pick the Speedy B’s instead as I like to be hands free in my current life. Gone are the days when I carried my bag to work and it sat in a drawer until I went home. These days convenience is my new mantra! 😀

At my highschool all the girls had a jean bag. You couldn't buy them, you had to make them out of your old blue jeans. We would draw on them, put patches and decals on them. No two were alike. We had so much fun with those bags!! 🎉

Autumn, your discussion about where all the missing luxury bags have gone is thought-provoking. As a craftsman myself, I've noticed a similar trend. More and more of my clients have been bringing in their outdated or slightly worn luxury bags for a makeover. This not only breathes new life into these pieces but also reflects a more rational and sustainable approach to luxury consumption. It's great to see your video sparking such important discussions. Do you think this trend of repurposing luxury items will become more mainstream in the future?

Celine luggage, chole faye, chole nile, and balenciaga city come to mind.
Had to edit to add this part of the comment after watching the rest of your video: So many of the bags you mentioned I still love! For me because I did not buy them when they were popular, partly because of how hard they were to get and also the cost. But now that they are on the preloved market I have bought several - due to the amazing prices and the nostalgia. And I am not one for trends either and will wear what I love! ❤❤❤

I currently have the favorite trifecta, the Pochette metís in both monogram, reverse monogram & pink empriente & the antigona. They are not being used by me at this time. I generally use the favorites while on vacation. My daughters are using & loving the canvas pochette metis’ & the antigona has been sitting pretty for a while. I’d like to sell that one but not in the current market.

Gucci Sukey - still use my large brown leather and medium black leather. They’re 12 or 15 years old, still going strong and both still have their original GG hang tags. Use brown for travel - road trips and flying domestic and international so it’s been well used including under airline seats, overhead lockers, security conveyor belts, stuffed into car trunks, caught in rainstorm, dropped. Handles have darkened but all stitching is intact and any scuffs ‘disappear’ when bag is cleaned and conditioned.

I was standing at checkout at Dillards last year with a woman wearing a Favorite mm in DE. I loved it!
I frequently see younger women ( than me) if I go out to dinner weather an LV pouchette type bag as a short shoulder.
I’ve seen at least three Dauphines in the wild and a bicolor empreinte MPA. Also a bicolor OTG mm. Then at the drugstore a bolougne or something like that.
I carried my Reporter pm out yesterday. I don’t own any of the aforementioned bags.
I love the look of the Spy bag but I’m afraid it would be too heavy for me. Even the reporter is no light weight!

Hey there, Autumn. I’m new to luxury handbags, etc. So I couldn’t come up with anything particular style of once popular bag so I didn’t add any. My experience with handbags were mainly Dooney and Bourke and Michael Kors. I wanted a Michael Kors bag so badly and hoped I would get one for Christmas one year. I didn’t but my nephew gave me an Amazon gift card and I found a Dooney and Bourke Saffiano Hobo bag (can’t remember the name) and got hooked on them. I just recently started using my Dooney’s again and am in love once again. BTW: I love your necklace!

I have an Eva, Favorite MM and Graceful MM (which I liken to the Artsy) all in damier ebene. I still use all of them occasionally.
I also have a monogram pochette metis that I’ve shied away from using once Covid started and I wanted to be more discreet. I wish I had one in empreinte, I think I would use it a lot more.

I really didn't get into luxury hand bags until a few years ago. I shoppped mostly contemporary brands: Kate, Coach, etc. But thinking back to my preteen years, I remember Nine West being super popular. Hello there. I am responding, however, I have never had a luxury handbag. And I may not have ever paid much attention to them, because I've always felt fairly certain I would not be getting one. Many years ago I had seen a Coach bag I really wanted. My husband went in to purchase it for me and the sales people were so rude to him he left without it. There went my one opportunity. I'm sorry, this does not help your question at all. However, I do love watching you and never miss a video of yours. I think you are great.

The Givenchy antigona I still have and it is in good condition but my lifestyle changed and I need better crossbody bag. I still have the ysl mini Lou Lou but it is inside a larger tote because I work near the city and am concerned with pickpockets and being robbed. So ultimately I still have the bags but they have gone underground for the time being.

I still see luxury bags when I go out especially LV. I still have the Favorite MM in monogram, Favorite MM in damier azur, Pochette Metis in monogram, and Artsy MM in damier azur. I haven't used none of them this year yet but that's cos I have been using my other new handbags like Chanel and Dior. Once summer is here, I usually use my Favorite MM a lot. The Dior Tote was everywhere a couple of years ago. Now (perhaps in large part because of the recent scandal), no one is sporting it. Chanel discontinued the GST almost ten years ago, and you rarely see it anymore (although I still really like it, and I think about buying it). LV's Pochette Accessoires, Double Pochetter, and Pochette Felicie have come in and out of fashion. I love my PA in DA (I live in the desert) as an easy grab and go purse to carry my essentials. The Double Pochette I have in both DA and black empreinte, but I have noticed that this bag has definitely gone out of fashion. It is my favorite travel bag, bar none, and I do not understand why it has fallen out of favor. I like my Pochette Felicie as a slightly more elevated bag, especially when I travel, but it is a finicky bag, and I definitely understand why it is less popular. Oh, and the Neverfull used to be everywhere. I am not seeing it nearly as much.

I have the favorite bag in all three canvas patterns and use them. I live in South Florida so occasionally I see someone else wearing theirs, but not so much now. I also have the Fendi spy bag and admittedly I don’t wear it much now, mainly because of the weight. I think people move on from the current “it” bag when some new and shiny comes out. Plus when they are discontinued, people move on. But my philosophy is if I spend the money on a good bag, I’m going to wear it, even if it is not “in style” anymore.

The LV Pouchette Metis! I saw them on everyone! Then the cracking started, and they lost the limelight. However, I've seen a few new ones pop up. They are really cute.

The bag that first made me fall in love with Dooney and Bourke was a satchel that I think was called the doctor’s bag. At least, that’s how I always heard it referred, and my favorite was a beautiful hunter green🥰. And omg, the tulips!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ And I love the spy bag too. I don’t have any of the eight you mentioned but I do sell some of my bags that I no longer want but most of my bags I still have. And like you, I buy the bags I love, not necessarily ones that are popular at the moment. No one would ever say I was trendy😂.

I have a few of those bags, some are just pushed to the back of the closet, some are still in rotation, the loulou for example, I use the toy almost exclusively for summer vacations bc it fits in a hotel safe. I have a small loulou I wear to dinner sometimes. I think the price for that bag got so high that ppl are not buying it as easily, 3k+ for a YSL is steep. its doubled in price from when I bought it. The handles of the antigona wear so terribly I think ppl just stopped using it. I use the coach Cassie as a work bag.

I don’t sell my bags. I only have three luxury bags and I intend to keep them until the end. And for that reason I have to think long and hard if I want to add to that. For everything else, I’ll give my friends the right of first refusal and if no takers they go to Goodwill since they’re a five minute drive away. Once I decide to let go of something I want it out of my life.
