  • DJI MINI 2 (4K) - Settings & Stick Control For Smooth Cinematic Orbits With The DJI Mini 2 Drone
    This video shows the settings I use when flying the DJI Mini 2 drone, and also includes a thumbstick control overlay and on screen tips showing exactly how I fly the drone and how easy it is to get smooth cinematic footage if you have the right settings and a a bit of practice.
    If you are looking to improve your drone flying skills but don't know how to set up the drone or use the sticks etc, and always seem to come away with jerky, horrible footage then please take the time to watch this video the whole way through and I think you will learn a lot.
    Anyway, this video took me quiet a while to create, so if you did enjoy it and/or got something out of it, please can you show your support by liking the video, and even better commenting and/or subscribing, it really does make a huge difference to getting my hard work seen by more people which is obviously what I would love to happen
    Thanks again, hope you enjoyed and happy flying

    Out of all the videos I have watched on how to fly a drone, this is by far the best one I have watched. I think that you have changed the way people are going to produce their videos. Thanks again ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT

    Forgot to say in the video but the settings were in NORMAL MODE!! They will probably be OK in CINE and SPORT but this flight was in NORMAL MODE. Other settings for this flight were 4k/30, 1/60, 5000k, no filters because it was sunset so didn't need them

      Hi Matt!
      If I shoot around 2-4 pm, what shutter and kelvin would you suggest I use?

    • @MAttWDroneVids
      @MAttWDroneVids  2 года назад +2

      @@JannaLugtu Hey, it all depends on how much light and conditions you have.. If possible you should try and have your shutter speed at double the frame rate but you will probably need some ND filters to do that. So if you are shooting at 4K/30 then 60fps is ideal, or if 2.7K/60 then 120fps.. But if you don't have any ND filters then just set the shutter so the image on your phone looks the same (or even a little bit darker) as how you see it with your eyes.. Same with the kelvin, just set it so it looks the same on your phone as you see with your eyes.. You can slightly adjust in an editor afterwards to get it just right, but its a lot easier to adjust it a little bit in an editor if you set it manually when flying rather than leaving it in auto.

      Question: Why optimized for Normal mode? Are there other settings in Normal (defaults I'd imagine) that make the settings better in Normal?
      I was going to make your settings here in CINE mode as they seem slower/calmer in general, but being a newbie, looking to learn. My thinking was that keeping Normal or Sport mode untouched gives me an opportunity to quickly switch to more agile flight in the event something goes wrong or I need to react quickly.
      All guidance appreciated.

      Awesome, thanks for such a great comment. I've been trying to make something like this for so long I thought I would never find a way of putting across the info in a simple method. Im very pleased you find it useful.. Just to be clear though these exact settings will probably only work this well on normal mode and probably only on the mini 2. I think it probably depends very much on how fast the drone flies as to what the optimal settings are. For other drones i think it would take a little bit of tinkering to get the perfect balance. But for mini 2 in normal mode on a calm day these are about as good as it gets in my opinion

    • @MAttWDroneVids
      @MAttWDroneVids  2 года назад

      @@gimbalair It takes a while to get used to the slower movements but once you get used to it you might like it better.. It might not ne to everyone's taste tbh but this is how I fly all the time so I thought people might be interested to see so they can give it a go themselves and see if it helps. If you tinker with them a degree at a time you might find something that feels better for you.. I spent a lot of time trying different combinations and these currently are the ones I feel most comfortable with, the yaw at 7 degrees per second feels too slow for me and 9 feels a tad too fast so I stuck on 8.. And similar with the tilt, I find that 3 on full lock is about as fast as I would like it to tilt for smooth movements so thats why i limit it there but someone else might find a different combination works better for them. Anyway, let me know if you post any videos using these settings, id be interested to take a look

I have wanted to put something like this out for a while to show people it really isn't that difficult to fly this drone if you get the settings right and put in a bit of practice.. I just didn't know how to put it into a video without me having to be on camera stumbling over words and making it sound more complicated than it actually is.. I wanted to do something useful instead of just churning out more flights that look good but don't actually help anyone with their own piloting skills.. It seems to be going down well so I'm happy about that. Hopefully more to come.. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting :)
