Bad Ass LS400! I Have an 05 custom LS430 42k Miles. i am the original owner . These cars are the best. UZ engines are bomb proof. The few Issues of the 400 was addressed in the 430. Build wise The 1UZ was a little stronger than the 3UZ of the 430. It used a little stronger Rods. Both engines will go over 500K. The UZ motors are also aviation certified. Thats how good they are. The sport suspension was the "F" Sport back then. The ride on the regular 430 is better than the sport and the difference between it and the Ultra is really undetectable in my opinion . The steering wheel motor is still available but yes $$$$. All parts are expensive. If you have the soft close door the actuator is almost 2K for it and there are 4. They typically go out one after the other. These cars are a gem and anyone who knows about them don't let them go. They are strong with good Torque and gearing so they are deceptively quick for a big car. Ill never get rid of mine and i also have a 2024 ES 350 and Love the LS more.

Thanks bro! You got a gem yourself with only 42k miles. I loved my LS it treated me good from the short time I had it. Maybe one day I’ll get another one. Thanks for watching 💯💯

The 4.3 liter engine is faster than the 4.0 liter engine 😅😅😂😂😂

    • @njackson18
      @njackson18 9 месяцев назад +1

@@Boogieman_1989Garbagefrom a HP standpoint it is but the 4.0 in the LS400 was as fast if not a little faster than the 4.3 of the 430 due to other factors. In the exact same configuration (gearing, car, tranny etc) i agree the 4.3 will be faster. the 0-60 times and 1/4 mile of both these cars are almost the same.

First, the second generation 400, from 1995 through 2000, is 250 lbs. lighter than the first generation 400 with a bump in horsepower to 290, which is 40 horsepower more. Second, the 430 has 290 horsepower, not 300, which is the same as the second generation 400. Third, even though the 400/2 uze engine is a 4l vs the 4.3l 3 uze engine, the 400 is lighter in weight and so is nearly as quick as the 430.

Also, you actually purchased the Best LS 400, which is the 1998-2000 model year. I have a 2006 LS 430 and I will trade you in a heartbeat, though I greatly dislike like an all black car.

Thank you for calling out the people that automatically think you're going to drive slow in a Lexus LS. Though I do love seeing their jaws drop when I drop 2 gears and I pull away.
Down here in South Florida, people speed up when you put your blinker on so you can't get in front of them. (They even do it just seeing you look in the mirror) These are the times it helps driving a car that no one thinks is a threat. The LS400 may not be a fast 0-60 vehicle, but out on the highway, there is more than enough power to surprise everyone and get around that slow driver in the left lane holding up miles of traffic.

Besides all that you already mention, what I like about my '04 430 is how quiet it is. Traffic noise is so much less and I can think, or listen to music or talk with someone at a normal voice like it's my living room. SOOO much less stress. I also like the ability to manually shift down to let it rev higher for acceleration. So smooth, so responsive. Great video. Thanks.

USA, put your seatbelts on! I have had an LS 400 1992, a used purchas. Then I bought an LS 430 which I still have. 2001 ultra premium package. The 430 lux package includes, double pane glass, adjustable, air self levelling suspension, which is still working perfectly 24 years later. Rear massaging seats with memory position in rear side door, heated rear seats, adaptive cruise control, which is fantastic. Mark Levinson sound system which is crap. Amplifiers burn out.. and blasts out all the speakers.
The most interesting feature is the automatically oscillating centre vents . Most people think they just oscillate but actually they’re much more sophisticated. (LS 430) They adapt according to the temperature selected from the passenger or the driver. One sets a high temperature the other, a low temp, the vents limit the directional sweep separating air flow. The quantity of temperature sensors in the car is also quite complex related to weather. When Sun is on the windshield, or it’s a cold and rainy day, the system detects around the passengers, how to increase the temperature and airflow at many points in the car. The LS 430 was made to last. Build quality. .

How did the LS430 compare in terms of road noise to your LS400, and did they both have double paned windows?
I’ve read that the LS400 mark 4 is quieter than the LS430 on rougher roads/coarse road. However, this sounds weird to me for a newer model being louder. I’ve tried adding a link to a thread from lexusownersclub, but it keeps getting deleted.
I have a prefaclift LS430 UL myself, and I’m just curious.

Me again, I also have an LS 460 L, AWD. Ultra premium package executive seating. 2010.. this Lexus has auto pre-safe attached to the brakes and seatbelts. When you nail the brakes in this car, the seatbelts tighten up three times and sustain that tight yanking against your body for a few seconds after and the car holds the brakes in case someone’s going to hit you from behind. The first time you experience this it’s shocking how yanked into the seat you become you can’t move. . USA wake up with the seatbelts.

I've owned a loot of Lexus cars. They're one of the least expensive cars to run. It's not about fuel consumption, it's about everything. Road tax, insurance, service and so on. Here in the UK, prices are standard, you can go to any dealer and parts and service cost exactly the same. A full service on any LS or GS car is £660:00p. That's it, not a penny more, or less. No matter what the car needs. I don't know if it's the same in America, but here, when you walk into a Lexus dealership, you're welcomed and treated like one of the family. If the work on your car will take more than one hour, you're offered your choice of courtesy car, free of charge. These are just some of the reasons that Lexus are so sought after here.
I like a particular brand of tea, when I book my Lexus in for work, my dealer has my favourite tea waiting for me, along with my chocolate biscuits...that, gentlemen, is what you call "SERVICE" and not even Rolls-Royce can equal it.

Confounded! No brainer, put ur seat belt on, fools? Teach ur self why. Put 4 dudes in the car roll at 25 mile an hour, quietly slip into N, and nail the brakes. Ur buddies in the back will lift off the seats and face plant ur head rest. The front passenger will hit the windshield hopefully with their hands and arms, if not u will need new glass, the driver will be fine hanging on to the wheel. I have done this when the rear passenger say u don’t need belts in the back, but I do it as 10 mile per hour.
It’s astonishing. Case in point if u nail the brakes just a bit harder driving home from the grocery store because some goof in front did something dumb, all the bags hit the seat back. Ya, u have been there.
