Hi Scott, massive thankyou for making these videos. I managed to fix my faithful but old Miele G686sc Dishwasher and saved it from landfill. In case it helps others, here was my repair: Fault light on Inlet/outlet. I freed up the sump impellor which had stuck, it took a bit of effort, rinse aid and some olive oil - once I realised I needed to twist the fork and not move it side to side it freed up with some gentle force. The machine drained itself again but it wasn't putting fresh water through the spray arms. I undid the one way valve by releasing the metal clip and it was full of water under pressure which then flowed back into the sump. From this I suspected that either something else was stuck or broken or it some safety feature was preventing the recirculated water from being pumped back through to the spray arms. Luckily for me it seems like it was a safety feature because I tipped the machine and about one pint of water came out of the drain tray, upon restarting the cycle it finally sounded normal and delivered water to the spray arms. Hoping that it is fixed now but time will tell, got to love Miele it must have done 23 years of service good for the environment and for the pocket too! Miele vacuum cleaners are expensive junk IMHO, freezers are meh, but miele washing machines and dishwashers I like a lot
Thank you for reply @FastFreeFixes . As you asked, after 3 minutes and just before error F13 comes, it fills up to touching bottom of the filter handle (Half thickness of handle in the water). Appreciate your response. Thank you again.
Hi Scott thanks for the nice video, If a customer uses the incorrect detergent in the washer, you can use half a glass of full cream milk into the dishwasher and run the machine for a few minutes to break the foam bubbles. The permeates in milk act as a good natural defoamer.
Hi Scott. I have a G892 dishwasher that oftentimes gets the intake/drain light and shuts off at the beginning AFTER the initial drain and other times at the end before the final rinse. There isn't any water remaining in the cabinet which suggests(?) it's not a drain issue. A reset will sometimes permit normal operation. Can the intake valve misbehave intermittently? If it points to a faulty intake valve, what is the part number for the aftermarket fill valve. I'm unable to clearly view the part number from the video. Thanks for your guidance.
Hi Scott. I appreciate the effort you have put into your videos which have been helpful. I have a Miele 842 SCU Plus dishwasher which I purchased in 2005 and I have been getting the intake/drain light issue lately. I made myself the fork tool and I have manipulated the impeller to free it up. After watching your repair using the kit to rebuild the pump I am curious if you could tell me the correct pump partition kit number for my machine. Thanks in advance.
Hi Scott, I have a Miele G892 U Plus. When I turn it on to wash the dishes I can hear the drain pump go on and some water being flushed into the sink drain. The pump continues dry for a time and then the red light flashes next to intake/drain and no water goes into the dishwasher. Does that mean I need to replace the intake solenoid valve that is at the end of the long tub from the dishwasher and attaches to the waterline? It is under the sink. Thanks, Jim
Hi Jim, It might need a new fill valve. Can you remove the panel below the door and then the panel beneath that one. Make sure it’s unplugged and then feel inside to see if it’s wet. If there’s water, sponge it all out and then it will work. No water there, then replace the fill valve.
@@FastFreeFixesyou are a life saver. I was about to throw in the towel when I saw the comment about removing the panel. Once I removed the two screws holding that in I could see the pan was full of water. At first I tried removing with a sponge which ended up being cumbersome. Finally I laid down a towel and tilted the machine forward emptying the pan and voila! The intake light is gone and the cycle started as normal. Huge thanks!!
Hi Scott, I have Miele dishwasher model G4227U and keep giving me F13 error which I think is Intake or fill valve or filter. When I checked where its connected to tap, I did not find any fill valve any end of water line. I am not sure if should be inside the panels. Please help me to find fill valve. Thank you.
Looks like Water gets inside and go through Flow meter and flow meter seems to be working. I am still getting F13 error after like 3-4 minutes, Is anything else wrong with it?
Hi Scott. Hi Scott, I have Miele dishwasher model G4227U and keep giving me F13 error which I think is Intake or fill valve or filter. But when I checked water is coming and go through flow meter which seems to be working alright. What could be wrong other than that. Thank you.
Hi Scott amazing repair videos. Many thanks. A question about 16’23” replacing the impeller. What’s the error code to indicate or confirm that’s the issue? My G694SCI plus has intake/drain light flashing. I followed all your other videos and clean and clear all the filter, drain and turn the impeller left and right for many many times still can’t solve it. So I saw this part but then not sure how to know replacing the impeller is what I need to do. Appreciate any advise!! (Also I can’t identify the impeller part from MieleUSA website.
Hello Scott, the only error message I can see on our 2 year old Meile Lumen series G6875SCViSF, is "Water intake" with a drawing of a faucet. How do we know this is an F-14 error? We've cleaned everything we can reach easily (the drain, filter and the bottom arm). After that it worked for a few weeks but now, again, it gets almost to the end, but the door doesn't open as usual and the red running light flashes. Everything is clean that we can see. Sometimes it seems like the bottom arm does not rotate around. What could that mean? Also, in CA we have an air vent, but in MA they are not required, so we don't have one. What do they do?
Hi Chris, The air gap vents are designed to prevent water from the sink flowing backwards into the dishwasher. When it fills up do you think the water goes high enough to reach the bottom of the white plastic Filter handle?
@@FastFreeFixes Hello! Thank you for your response. The water does reach the bottom of the white plastic filter handle. I'm trying to order the heater/pressure switch from Miele now as you recommended to me. When I watch your video for a "water intake" error (F-14) it never mentions this as a possible problem though. The technician who came out thought it was something about the heater but I didn't go with him because of the error message leading me to think something was wrong with the water intake :-( Why such a confusing message if it is the heater/pressure switch? Regarding the air gap vents, they seem pretty important. I wonder why Massachusetts doesn't think they are necessary? Do you think if there is no air gap vent you should not use the sink while the dishwasher is running?

That’s the right level for filling. Might need to replace the little flow meter sensor on the side of the dishwasher.

I’d say that intake valve is on the way out.
Can you email me at: scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com so I can guide you through the replacement?
do the wires to the fill valve need to be any orientation i.e. white or black?
Either way, no polarity issue.

Hi Mike,
Here’s a link to the partition Kit: www.ebay.com/p/2080929165
You can also try Miele USA it might be cheaper.

If you can get it out of the cabinet you can remove the bottom panel and you’ll see the fill valve right there .

At 3 minutes into the cycle, can you open the door and let me know how high the water is relative to the filter handle?

I think you need a new motor capacitor to give the motor a boost👍

If the drain tube is bent in a high arc as high as the bottom of the sink it should be ok and not flood.
Hi Jim,
I would replace the intake fill valve👍
That's the plan!
I need a husband or a new dishwasher; I feel trapped.
Please let me know if you need any help👍
