Im hardly 20 years old and this is the best entertainment experience i could imagine but everyone else my age is more interested in social media. I find cars fascinating and history even MORE fascinating. I could speak with Donald and Jay for hours but I'd rather listen to what they have to say. Priceless information!!!
Jay can grind gears in priceless cars so confidently that not even the owners are concerned. He's a man with enough money and experience to have no fear of what he might do.
This series is turning out to be fantastic! I love the cars, my wife loves the mansions, and we both love Donald and Jay and the back stories they tell. Please keep ’em coming!
Mr Osborne is a charming and very knowledgeable gentleman . Watching these two friends having an interesting conversation is a real treat - and that DB4 is gorgeous.
These Audrain segments have added a interesting element to the channel and Mr. Osborne is so polished in his knowledge and presentation. Thank you Jay!
Osborne and Leno, never seen it better. Osborne is so polished, informative, concise but affable, Leno is down to earth as usual,. Both passionate aficionados. They got a good thing going on here.
Every time I watch one of these episodes I get a real appreciation for both guys' level of knowledge. I really feel like we are only scratching the surface of what they know about cars. Just amazing.
These two are FANTASTIC together! Its rare to hit gold like this but I hope they continue this series like this. They are great together and a perfect compliment to one another. The pace is fantastic, the comedic timing is spot on and their combined knowledge is unsurpassed.
Donald is the total package...knowledge, delivery, personality. Jay is perfect as the everyman, asking the questions that we want to know. great series.
What a treat to (virtually) tag along and learn so much automotive (and architectural Newport) history from these incredible gents! So fun and enjoyable!! Thank you both!!
Hi Jay, just want to say, as a fellow who's home town was where the Jensen interceptor was made ( West Bromwhich) they where a bloody menace to poor folks on Honda 50's. Especially when the O'Driscoll 's where driving them!
So glad to have you on the East coast! I new a guy who had a DB5, i asked him what other cars he owned...he replied the Astin was his ONLY car...i shook his hand and admired his devotion.
Jay Leno,---The guy next door, a lot more money than me, but dresses in the same kind of clothes! Leno and Osborne make a great team, Donald Osborne has so much historical knowledge! That Marmon 16 is gorgeous! Early 30s my favorite cars also, any brand. Thanks for posting! Aston Martin sounds great !
The most impressively smooth big engine I've ever heard was a Marmon V16. The owner proudly demonstrated it for me and a few others at a Dedham Mass Car Show. The light weight aluminum big block, light weight pistons with 16 cylinder pulses, all made it extra smooth. Silky. Whirred up and down, and clearly very powerful too.
Another great episode! Donald and Jay together make a great team! The cars and mansions go together beautifully! So much history in Newport, I can only imagine the cars that drove Bellevue avenue in the early 1900's. More episodes please and see you in Newport! ✌
I live close enough to this museum, that I’m going to take a drive there and check it out soon. Thank you for the uploads and informative banter. You guys make a great team.
Right?! Jay, with a delightfully compelling sidekick, is just the right ticket. Jay might consider doing other partnership segments with car museums around the world.
Happy New Year, Donald! Love how this series w/Jay and you is weaving together the history of specific great homes in Newport with specific classic cars from the Audrain collection or on loan to the Museum. In this case, it's understated power and performance + in the case of the Marmon Sixteen, understated styling as well. As the Brits would say, "Well done, you!"
Best episode yet! My wife & I have vacationed in Newport from PA for 35+ years. Love the city & the museum!!! Looking forward to many more of these shows with Jay & Donald.
I am really enjoying these! You two make a great pair and the way you play off each other and I love the history Donald brings to the cars and the houses. Thank you!
1932 - the year my uncle entered West Point, class of 1936. Classmates Creighton Abrams, Wm Westmoreland, Ben O.Davis Jr. All preparing for WWII. These cars were for folks who didn't serve. The Depression is ON. Always remember world history around these automobiles. ✌️👍🇺🇲
Thank you so much gentlemen for this series. I have learned quite a bit on the history of the mansions and, of course, the automobiles. As someone below mentioned, you two are a terrific team.
I have to watch every one of these because it's like going to school. Now I hate school . Except when you love something my cars that is fun . The educational system could learn from these 22 completely different characters and personalities blend and the one . Makes a perfect match
Looking forward to seeing the Museum this summer. This program is fantastic. Entertaining informative and the play of these two friends is quite enjoyable. Thanks for the effort and detail.
The opening dining scene, Jay with the Pizza and Osborne dining more elegantly, is a play on "The Odd Couple" (Felix Unger and Oscar Madison). Great stuff; enjoyed this so much !!
A true story, I had the opportunity to buy one of the 2 DB5's from the film. It was being used for promotional purposes in Philadelphia. I was just a teenager and my parents would not give me the 10.5K for it! Thought I would share! Love this series, you guys are great. if Jay is reading this, we met on the streets of Burbank and I was a PAGE with Debby V.!
It amuses me, being an Englishman who lives within a stone’s throw of Rottingdene and Ovingdene (They’re both in East Sussex and Goodwood which, I guess you know, is in West Sussex.) that it took this show for me to look up Dene. It means small valley from the old English and originally the Greek. It’s not just cars and mansions we’re learning about here, but the etymology of the English language. Keep up the good work old boy! Damn, I looked it up before you told us the answer. Now I’ve had to edit my post. Patience my man........
The Marmon name survives through the Marmon Group of Chicago, Illinois which owns companies that produce transportation equipment, electrical and industrial components.
I must say...I truly love this format. To incorporate the history of these unique automobiles along with the history of the Newport homes is brilliant...good job gentlemen!
Hello dear Jay and Donald, the north koreans in Goldfinger were not driving Diesels, they drove the 220 S Ponton. This was the powerfull 6 cylinder S class of those days. You should drive that once. Thanks for the wonderful show and cheers!
My Uncle bought a Marmon to restore that was a sixteen cylinder Marmon. However, unfortunately he went bankrupt before he was able to restore it and I only saw it once; it was in his barn just on the outskirts of Cokato, Minnesota where he owned the Lundeen Tractor Cab company. He was a machinist by trade and originally owned a welding shop in Cokato. He had already restored a Kissel Goldbug Roadster of which was I believe one of only 2 left; the other was owned by Jack Dempsey who used to famously park his in front of Sardi's restaurant in New York city.. I believe his Kissel Goldbug Roadster, now resides in Harrah's Museum. He also had a Chalmers, another Kissel Convertible/Sedan with rear seats; and a 1903 Oldsmobile which is still in the family owned by his son, my cousin. All together he and my Aunt had about 10 cars in their collection all rebuilt and restored by their family. With all the talk of the 16 Cylinder Marmon I was hoping to get a glimpse of the wonderfull motor which I believe was a overhead valve motor. It's a shame they didn't open the hood to let the viewers marvel at that outstanding motor which really stands out in automotive history, however I thoroughly enjoyed this video! Well done!!
Thank you for your kind words, and that is a wonderful story about your grandfather. We did a more detailed video on the Marmon here ruclips.net/video/8iJTH-0t7MU/видео.html
Fellas, keep up the good work. Your interactions between each other, your knowledge about the cars and your enthusiasm about the make you're driving is so engaging. Jay, you should have your wife and Donald's wife, if he's married, do a tour of the homes. Just a thought.
Thanks, Great History overviews, and talks. Enjoyable, I would , & could enjoy examining underneath, closer to materials, and maintenances **involved in : these Treasures,.........! I grew up in NORTHERN INDIANA ( WARSAW,etc): INDY 500, US30 DRAGSTRIPS,*Studebaker, *AUBURN CORD , DUESENBERG, et al!, : Anyways, show more…….
As always Donald..........i am a bit jealous.........you get to hang out with Jay and drive some of the best car's ever built.........looked like this one was a lot of fun.........i think it took you by surprise when Jay power shifted the Aston.........😂😂👍👍👊👊
Way too cool!! Love to listen to knowledgeable car geeks geek out over cars. You guys definitely are a great duo. Need to make more of these!! Oh ya and the music in this awesome!
Another enjoyable video, please keep them coming. I obviously enjoy the cars and your comments but I also find the descriptions of the mansions very interesting. Thanks Jay and Donald.
Jay is right about the red RR. Years ago there was bright orange Porsche on the lot in the Boston area Porsche dealership. It sat and sat, until months later a California couple saw it--bought it--and drove it west to California!
I have always thought the same as Jay, 1932 was a was a high water mark for auto styling. After 32/33 they started loosing the flowing front fenders. So definitely my favorite era. Not as sure about 1966 though. Definitely somewhere between 1965 and 1969 is my favorite for the "modern" cars.
Love the contrast between the Marmon and Astons. How comfortable Donald looked as passenger and how at ease Jay looked behind the wheel, then getting bounced around in the DB4 on typical New England roads while also peeling out lol. David and Jay's chemistry is great too. RIP Sean Connery. I loved him as 007, in The Untouchables and Indiana Jones.
I think that we are witnessing the moment where RUclips shows are superior to television shows. This is brilliant!
Agree!
Yes, but in the tracking shots it's being driven at 2.5mph
this sure beats watching the news or scripted reality tv completely honest
@@mityt2064 👌
Indeed, great quality content, great hosts. Loving it!
Osborne knows his stuff and really adds something to the show.
He is the show-
It's his show...
@@ferrellscales1155 as the curator of the collection that he represents, one would hope so
I think he adds everything.
Total Pro
Donald is there looking sharp and Jay is there looking like he's about to break into singing uptown girl.
Haha. Love these guys.
Felix and Oscar

These two are FANTASTIC together! Its rare to hit gold like this but I hope they continue this series like this. They are great together and a perfect compliment to one another. The pace is fantastic, the comedic timing is spot on and their combined knowledge is unsurpassed.

Marmon won the first Indy? Damn, I learn something every time I watch this.
Audrain Museum has got to love having Jay in Newport. Great promotion for a great museum.
Jay bought Seafair! It's all just too right.
The best episodes are when Donald and Jay are together not to take away anything from either one of them when they're solo
Could not agree more! They need to take this format and roll with it moving forward!!

I love this series!! Great storytelling, brilliant cars, stunning estates, fascinating history, fun hosts - can’t wait for more!

Beautiful classic car! 😘🚗😀. Mike from Missouri
I'm not normally a huge fan of '30s cars but that Marmon is ticking all sorts of boxes for me.

Very well done gentlemen, enjoyed this segment

Right on Donald!!!! Love this!
The Marmon is the super-sized, chop-top 32 Ford hot rod, built to run fast but unnoticed.
I am jealous I would love to drive a DB 4or5 that is fantastic that you had the opportunity to do that.

I feel bad for the crew… sitting in a trunk like an animals… )))
Great video anyway if serious, I enjoyed it… Leno and Osborne great duo 👍🏻
