please give him a special hug from little Luxembourg and his biggest fan there. We all pray that he recovers quickly and can slowly forget the drama. And we all hope that he will not have to face to be banned to work on his steam cars, mabye just with a greater precaution clotheswise
Your in our hearts Jay. I hear your still entertaining in the hospital so I know your going to be alright. Mavis we're thinking of you too. Take the matches away from Jay until he grows up. Which will be never thank goodness. Cheers 🇨🇦
"Let's point these silver streaks toward the ocean and enjoy this beautiful afternoon." It's heartwarming to see the genuine friendship between these guys and that friendship is one big reason why Mansions and Motorcars is such a wonderful success. I hope they make a hundred more episodes!
Nice to see a little more of the house & grounds this season! I do come for the cars, but love the houses too. As with everyone, wishing Jay a speedy recovery!
I love this duo. Great chemistry, contrast in characters, knowledge base and passion for automobiles. All the best in your recovery Jay. Thanks to both of you for sharing the wonderments that is the motoring culture. Take care boys.
Jay, first & most importantly I read that you should fully recover from the accident in your garage--I sincerely wish you the best. Second, as a Mercede-Benz owner-driver I esp. enjoyed the 280SE--great choice.
I serviced Buddy Hacketts Rolls when he came to Durham NC for the rice diet. I'll never forget taking the rear leaf springs off and cleaning them, then repacking them with grease and sewing a new leather cover around them. GOD BLESS AMERICA. Get well soon Jay, we miss you.
as a U.S. Army kid in W. Germany, we had sedan versions of this car, a 280S in dark green, and a 280 SEL 3.5 in shiny black, with 3-band radio -- they had a Medium Wave btwn AM and FM Also non-SAE sealedbeam headlights, in a single vertical column, not (2) round headlights per side also had a 180A and a 190SL, the 1st cars I remember, after the 1943 Willys MB in my profile pic
Praying for you Jay. This episode is the best one yet. My favorite was the Pontiac. I haven't had the pleasure of driving or riding in one. If I ever decide to buy a convertible, I would look for a car like this to be driven and enjoyed. Keep it up Jay and Donald. Look forward to many more episodes.
Thanks , all of Team AUDRAIN, ET AL… AND, Jay, thoughts, and Prayers for speedy Recoveries: really need your inputs, work & thoughts on lots of “Car stuff”…..ps: esp INDIANA Stuff: DUESENBERGS, INDIANAPOLIS-500,Auburn, Studebaker (a lot of History), Truck stuff, and so on. ( I am from NORTHERN Indiana….)
This is great guys. Winter is starting here in the NY North Country but I feel like I just rode in the backseat of a convertible in the summer Newport air. Nice. Get well soon Jay we miss you.
I performed 1st 600 mile services on 3.5 convertibles in Greenwich Connecticut dealership. Retorque the cylinder heads, adjust the valves, change rear axle oil, engine oil and filter, grease the chassis, door hinges, rub rubber lube on the door seals, trunk seal. Check idle Co and adjust the electronic fuel injection computer "brain", ignition timing. Greatest years of my 47 year technician career.
I think a sit down luncheon on a balcony at a fine restaurant with Donald Osborne and a couple of classics parked out the front would be very edifying....
There is a certain class to earlier automobiles that is rarely seen these days. Hope Jay recovers quickly. Please keep showing these places and automobiles so people don't forget.
So glad to see Jay out of the hospital and seeming to be relatively unscathed and cracking jokes as though nothing happened. "Regular and crispy?" Pure Jay! 👍
Beautiful cars. I recall going to a car show circa 1977, when you saw rows of brass-era/'30's-'40's cars. 1950's cars were very select like the 1957 Bel Air and a few early '60's cars. In the parking lot was a driver 1958 Impala and we just walked past it with a chuckle. Who knew cars like that would be worth a fortune later on. You are so correct Jay when you said a full-time factory worker could support a household. My father was a mechanic, and my mother was a housewife. They had a 3-bedroom high-ranch, 3 kids, a 5 year old or so luxury car, beautiful furniture, went on vacations, etc. if it was now, we'd be living in poverty. What's happened to America is a total disgrace. I had family that suffered and died in WWII to protect that way of life for the common man.
Another highly enjoyable and informative video from Jay and Donald. I always look forward to these, and review past episodes regularly. So nice to see Jay is on the mend.
Once again an exemplary quality program thank you to the Audrain Museum, thank you Mr Osborne, thank you Mr Leno. My thoughts and prayers are for a speedy recovery Mr Jay leno.
Superb car mercedes benz were the best built then in terms of reliability and engineering please can we have more classic cars keep up the good work kev from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧
ok. This is to me is a proper Mercedes. It's the perfect styling. Perfectly balanced, Very, Very easy to look like and to me, just a very, very familiar style. Good Pick Donald.
That opening scene reminds me of a Jimmy Buffet lyric where he says "I treat my body like a temple, you treat yours like a tent:," :-) Seriously though, I wish Jay a speedy recovery and both you guys are awesome!
Mr Osborne sir, What is your cinematographic secret to your keeping your hat squarely on your head riding in an open convertible while the wind is tousling Jay’s locks … Velcro … super glue ?🦊
The packard twin six was great. They built 35 thousand! But for some reason only a few hundred survived. 8 thousand silver ghosts were built and 1700 or so survive. So which was in fact a better car?
Good afternnoon gentlemen . The best of both worlds but Jays comparison is quite correct the Rolls is regal and beautifully engineered but it's generations behind is real terms when compared to what the American motor industry offered . Whoever restored the Rolls gets nil points for securing the rear number plate with philips screws ......tut tut! Thankyou both and it is with relief to see you up and about Jay . However , it's shameful the way you were hounded at that filling station .
Are You sure that this car has a hydraulic top ?? As far as we know there was only one single W111 with a hydraulic top and this belonged to a German aristocrat and the car was silver Best regards from Germany 👍👍👍
Donald Osbourne is a tenuous contradiction: he's a very trustworthy salesman. How many salesmen are trustworthy? Not many. He dresses sharp and good taste, speaks like a history professor, and knows his stuff. If I was rich I would contact him for his appraisal services and others also.
Donald, the romantic myth that Henry Ford payed his workers $5/day so that they could afford to buy a new car has been dispelled many times and never mentioned by Ford himself. He did it to stop the 370% worker turnover he was having at the time. The costs of hiring and training that turnover was very high and greatly affected production numbers and profit. See writings by Tim Worstall and Douglas Brinkley and others for complete breakdown of all the practical business reasons that the increase was made.
Hey guys, it would have been a lot more enjoyable if Google did'nt have to add there pop ups !! Don't they make enough money from You Tube advertising ???
Jay thanks you all for your kind wishes, they are greatly appreciated. He is recovering well and hopes you continue to enjoy all of the videos here!
What about Jay's car?

Ok Thank you Donald. I understand there will be quite a lengthy recovery, but that is the key. Recovery. Right? Thank you again.
Be well Jay! Many more miles to go!!!
Donald you Jay are awesome conveying the stories of these cars and wonderful homes. Praying for Jay for a prompt recovery.
Thanks, dynamic duo. May you ride together again, soon.
"Let's point these silver streaks toward the ocean and enjoy this beautiful afternoon." It's heartwarming to see the genuine friendship between these guys and that friendship is one big reason why Mansions and Motorcars is such a wonderful success. I hope they make a hundred more episodes!

I want to add my best wishes to those already listed. Heal quickly!
Nice to see a little more of the house & grounds this season! I do come for the cars, but love the houses too. As with everyone, wishing Jay a speedy recovery!
Thank you for the feedback!
My thoughts exactly .
I love this duo. Great chemistry, contrast in characters, knowledge base and passion for automobiles. All the best in your recovery Jay. Thanks to both of you for sharing the wonderments that is the motoring culture. Take care boys.
Thanks so much for the ride. In that time my Dad drove enormous GM 2-door convertibles so thanks for the memories.
Jay, first & most importantly I read that you should fully recover from the accident in your garage--I sincerely wish you the best. Second, as a Mercede-Benz owner-driver I esp. enjoyed the 280SE--great choice.
Love watching you both. Praying for Jays fast recovery.
Wish Jay a speedy recovery ❤ I have to add, Donald, how does your hat stay on? Jay’s hair is blowing all over. (Don’t forget Saab, and safety)
Glad to see you almost recovered.

To Jay's point my 57 Ford Crown 4 dr Hardtop with Thunderbird V 8 was sold to me for 100$ as my first car back in 1969, in good shape.
These two guys put smiles on all who watch. Many prayers 🙏🙏🙏 Jay , get well soon. !
Great episode Jay and Donald! Hoping Jay has a speedy recovery.

My father had a '56 black and white two-tone four door post Pontiac Starchief. Nice car with smooth power. Get well, Jay! Thanks for all you do!

The stately gentlemen. Love those rags. Favorite one is the 56 Pontiac. And shout out to Jay. Get well soon. ❤😎👍😃😝🤑
Get well soon Jay!!🙏🏾
That Pontiac reminds me of the one that was featured on the "I Love Lucy" show that they where shown driving across the country.
Pulling that GIANT trailer trailer? I remember that movie.
What a beautiful Rolls!
So glad to see Jay out of the hospital and seeming to be relatively unscathed and cracking jokes as though nothing happened. "Regular and crispy?" Pure Jay! 👍

As George H.W. Bush said: Americans have it too good.
In the Star Chief, for some reason I can picture Fred & Ethel Mertz in the backseat
Very interesting history/cultural lessons, great cars, houses, and scenery -- and having the "Ying/Yang" brothers together is always fun!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love from Canada
We Love You guys great shows,
Great video. Thanks for sharing. God's speed on Jay's recovery. Are those "Donald Osborn hats" , that stay on your head in convertibles, for sale?
Another highly enjoyable and informative video from Jay and Donald. I always look forward to these, and review past episodes regularly. So nice to see Jay is on the mend.
Donald How you describe a Car is So Wunderbar.
Tim Allen said after visiting Jay Leno that he is doing awesome... what i love to hear..

Donald, you need your own show on MSNBC
Can't believe the knowledge of these two!!!!! Love these vids!! but let Donald drive once in awhile!! lol
We had a show with American Cars from 60s and 70s .
There was a Pontiac Bonneville Convertible with a 455 engine, it takes 23 liters per 100 km
I love this show!
Thanks for the support!
That opening scene reminds me of a Jimmy Buffet lyric where he says "I treat my body like a temple, you treat yours like a tent:," :-) Seriously though, I wish Jay a speedy recovery and both you guys are awesome!

@@AudrainMuseumNetwork A tenuous connection... but a good video
12/13/2022 - Jay made a recent appearance on the adam carolla show( since the mishap). Perfect restoration.
Get well Jay! Very sad what has happened!
Ah I was wondering why I like Os so much, and it’s cuz he’s from the northeast. Good vibes.
That’s one heck of a camera you’re using. It is better than my own eyes! Wow.
Great to see the series back. Not a fan of the new theme though.
The packard twin six was great. They built 35 thousand! But for some reason only a few hundred survived. 8 thousand silver ghosts were built and 1700 or so survive. So which was in fact a better car?

Ogden Codman mentioned!!!!
Donald turning down that slice was just plain rude 😂
...................at just one minute 20 seconds in: COMMERCIALS! I think the Audi is following ya! lol
Yeah,
Are these cars in this segment part of the museum or privately owned and borrowed for this?
All the cars in the series are part of the Audrain Collections!
How does a nice house like that end up smashed against a strip mall? I guess having a Stop N Shop nearby is handy.
Is the museum open all year and where is it exactly? And is it free or is a fee charged?
Dave, the Museum is open all year long! We are located at 222 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI.
For more information, check out audrainautomuseum.org
What pin is on your lapel ? Donald?
It also took MB forever to quit sticking dinky radiators in their cars. Sooo many toasted engines back then.
Hope u are doing well affordable ur accident Jay 🙏🏼
What’s that clicking noise?
Are You sure that this car has a hydraulic top ??
As far as we know there was only one single W111 with a hydraulic top and this belonged to a German aristocrat and the car was silver
Best regards from Germany 👍👍👍
dear Donald, "sans souçis" does not mean "without care" in french, but "without problem" , in the sense of "easy going"
