If your original radio doesn’t have wired CarPlay than this dongle won’t work. The only 2 options are to replace the radio with an aftermarket radio with CarPlay or get a 2nd screen like this amzn.to/3CeIqEv
I have a 2018 rav4 and carplay isnt an even an option... would this work? and if so, would i be able to keep it plugged in even if the vehicle is off? like will it drain the battery?
Unfortunately no. The radio has to have it, this device makes it wireless instead of wired. Also, I leave mine plugged in and there is no power draw from the port when the car is off
Curious what happens when your passenger plugs their phone into the car's USB port. Does Apple Play then look to make this wired connection as the phone in control of Apple Play and disconnects my wireless adapter? I don't want to have a hassle every time a passenger adds a wired connection in my car. On a longer trip, I may want to have a wired connection for charging purposes so what happens when I add a wired connection while using the wireless adapter? Will that cause any hassle?
I can’t speak to other manufacturers but on Toyotas I believe you only get 1 CarPlay port and that’s where this device would plug in. I know my car only has one port so I would have to unplug this dongle if someone wanted to be wired
I have an old truck with a newer flat screen stereo. I can do carplay on it with the cord. I don't have a USB to plug that dongle into. However, I do have a cigarette lighter connection. Could I plug in a USB dongle into the cigaretter lighter thing and then plug this dongle into the USB plugged into the cigarette plug?
Your flatscreen stereo system should have USB inputs in the back of the head unit. It should also have included extension USB cables that you can run out to the front of the console, where they are more easily accessible. I hope this helps!
Has it had stable connections when entering the vehicle and good audio quality? I've heard nightmare stories with these adapters having horrible audio quality when listening to music or just not working at all.
The issue I keep having is that I pay for WiFi services in my car. When I use the dongle, I have no wifi connectivity to my phone whatsoever. I've tried the instructions with the box, but have found no solution.
I have WiFi in my car as well. The service is not active. Maybe I will reactivate and see if I can replicate the issue. Thank you for bringing it to my attention
Unfortunately I had to sell it when I got laid off a few months back. I have new some content coming with a bike I was sent from Roll Road. The first video is out now showing it off and i'll have some riding videos coming very soon. Thank you for watching!!

I hate this thing. I have this same model, and it worked for a week, but now it just disconnects several times an trip. Infuriating.
Sounds like I’m better off with a cable 😂

How it works for two users?
Good question. I will have to try that!
Do you still have the link for the one that plays youtube
That model was discontinued. I have a new review coming for a new model
Can i have navigation on and listen to music at the same time?
Yeah I’ve had no problem doing both simultaneously
It says in the instructions, link to Bluetooth, just give it about 10 seconds to initialise.
You’re right. I skipped right over the instructions. Was kicking myself afterwards 🤣
How does it handle interference that causes disconnection while driving near radio/cell towers?
I’ve not had any interference issues at all personally. This thing has been rock solid for me

Doesn’t work with my Sony Headunit. Doesn’t do first step or connect

I don’t believe it will work through the cigarette lighter unfortunately

Does it drain phone battery faster than factory wireless carplay?
Also, does it use phone signal for navi?
Yes to the navigation and no I don’t notice any faster drain.
does it work 2024 mazda cx-5?
Depends on if the head unit is OEM. If yes then it should work no problem

Never ran into any cutouts or anything like that. The audio quality to my ears is identical to if I had it plugged in.

Wireless CarPlay runs over WiFi, that’s why.
@@Coads123 no it doesn’t
@@healthy6312 it does. Bluetooth doesn’t have the bandwidth required.
@@Coads123 bruh the new Toyotas just need Bluetooth
@GaryCantrell what kind of rearview mirror is that?
Wolfbox. It’s a front/rear dashcam. Working on a review for it amzn.to/4fqrVTS
Are you still using your aventure bike ? How’s it
Holding up ?

So this is connected via wireless carplay not wired.
That is correct. Many saw my phone plugged in but that is to power only and not the data port that CarPlay uses
I have to buy it
I hope you enjoy it!! Thanks for watching!!
Nio es8 some options sir
But isn't your phone plugged in???
Yes plugged into power not the usb data spot
His phone was connected the whole time lol
connected to power yes you are correct
But your phone is plugged in….
I was thinking that as well! Unplug it and lets see what happens!
It’s only plugged into power. If you look real close around 2:25 ish
@@JohnAMonza It’s only plugged into power. If you look real close around 2:25 ish
@@GaryCantrell Oh I se it's an adapter plugged into a cigarette lighter. No data transfer there. Good news....Thanks.
Does it have lag?
It’s identical to any other wireless adapter. Slight delay when switching tracks. Like 1 sec
