That´s a great comparison, Jack! I own V4 Wide since February, I´m loving it! My favorite bases are Apex & Open. These two are the fastest with either Kalita 155 or Hario VCF-01-100MK paper. I grind my doses as fine as 225 Micron (C40Mk4 RX35) and still do not exceed 03:30 minute TBT with most coffees. My favorite brew ratio is 14:240g with a 60 to 80g bloom (30s). So far I´ve brewed 200 pour-overs with this recipe.
Its amazing how these companies still make what contacts hot water, close to boiling with off-gasing plastic. There are MORE harmful components besides BPA, and the No BPA is a good start, but more marketing, and polyethylene is even better, BUT still they are bad. There are PLENTY glass or ceramic, quality metal brewers made, some have minimal silicon contact, some have none. Loving the video! Jack, I think we need a all glass and ceramic comparison!
Thanks for another great video! I think the OreaV4 makes really consistent and good coffees and I personally have had more success with the Orea (tastier cups) in comparison to the V60. Absolutely worth it. The negotiator is a little disappointing for its price, but I must say I haven't tried any funky papers yet, which to be frank is why I got it. I've had it for 6 months and I still go back to the paper wave filters. I tried the Orea flat and I'm not a fan.
Honestly my assessment is it would be ideal if they'd make a wide version fast bottom but everything in ceramic/glass version and I'm all set. No matter what it is in the end I'm just not confident with plastic material. I mean its a known fact ceramic/glass will surely not leach in the many years of brewing for sure. I always prefer wider version as I'm just a snob into sweeter tasting cup so even for 14 grams I still brew with wider dripper version for larger cups in order to brew slower/finer just for more sweetness.
So curious of how it tastes but too expensive and hard to buy from my country..seems too many variables to play with. And interesting 2 different geometry brewers
@@mycoffeeshow111 Got it, it would be great to see a comparison of Orea and Timemore B75. Many people say they taste very similar but B75 is much lower price
@@theAyazAliyev I almost forgot about Timemore. I should still have it somewhere. I remember a year ago I made my own flat bottom brewer out of can of soda and it was not bad at all.

@@philindeblanc thx for watching and all the info. If this video performs well I will consider getting glass and ceramic Orea to play with.
the porcelain orea sucks

@@gero77 Thx for watching. I only use those expensive papers on special occasions, otherwise I get Kalita 185 which does the job well.
wall made out of BPA was a great line 🤣

Almost impossible!!! 😂 love your sarcasm. Pseudoscience, it’s alive and well.

Hey there! Which brewer would you recommend for bright, complex, and well-balanced cups based on your experience?
@@theAyazAliyev Hi, each Orea would do nicely here and a lot depends on the recipe but narrow Orea V4 would probably be better for you
