Kiryu didn't even hold back on that slap. you could see his hand *recoiling* from doing so
I'm 100% sure if Kiryu didn't hold back it would be the same effect if not stronger than Nishiki's slap at the beginning
Kiryu slapping a damn child was a character killing moment for me. Later apologises too but instead for lying about her mother to her, not the slap. Really not cool when everything else about the dude screams cool and 'right way' slapping a kid for a reason as dumb as disagreeing with them is crappy and I will always dislike Kiryu a bit because of this dumb moment they decided they wanted to add. Literally make anyone but him do it ffs...
I think you've got the story a little wrong. Haruka's impulsive behavior was hindering Kiryu greatly. Other people were trying to kidnap him and they were trying to trap Kiryu. Kiryu was also thinking about Haruka's well-being and slapped her to stop her from acting impulsively. Haruka deserved it. He was trying to look for his mother, whom he had never seen in a place like Kamurochou, at night. and what they've seen so far shows how dangerous the job is. and Before getting slapped by Kiryu, he said that he would go look for it on his own.
Somehow this game has a lot of slapping scene
