Thanks Brad, this is actually so helpful as I am just getting ready to head out myself. I love your mix of items! I tend to get way too caught up in the never ending game to go lighter and more compact, good to get your perspective. Interesting to hear your experience with quilts, that is one thing I may never go back from. I am a restless sleeper having leg freedom is critical for me. Love your Argali products, so thoughtful and purposeful, keep up the good work. The Sitka Ambient hoodie may be the best thing since sliced bread! Wishing you the best this fall, hope you make some killer memories.
I don't see blue crocs and I'm extremely disappointed, lol. Who am I kidding? Brad is probably wearing them while filming this video. Great job fellas.
I like the look of fjallraven but they use cotton blends in their technical clothes including the keb line so ive stayed away from them. One way i saved on space was changing my stove system out to the msr pocket rocket 2 and getting a 500mL pot. You can get 2 cups of water out of a 500mL pot. I used the msr windburner before. The wind burner is a 1L pot (1000mL).
If I understood you properly, you load up the 13ga bags if the weather rolls in, no dedicated waterproof liner or bags for your gear? Might give that a whirl. Thanks for the food and supplement idea too.
Correct me if I missed it, you’re running the Owyhee with just a floor? I’m assuming you’re going to a spot with minimal critters and flying biters and that’s why you’re cutting out the tent insert? Or does the tent alone do a good enough job keeping those out? Thanks and great video!
Thanks! Great question. Up here where we hunt in the fall issues with critters and flying biters are pretty minimal so we typically don't feel the need to carry our inserts with mesh if we're on a backpack hunt where weight is at a super premium.
How did you like the lapponias? I was trying to decide for an all around good boot I hunt in Louisiana but plan to take elk and mule deer hunting in future. Along with backpacking
Question Brad If it’s me and my daughter. Will, the rincon work for both of us and gear and stove if we want to bring it or would we be better with the absoroka
@@Argali ok thank you We will be back pack hunting carrying our gear and camp with us on our backs everyday so trying to keep weight down and I didn’t know if the rincon would be enough room for both of us and our gear and stove Not sure about the stove yet but wanted to have the option if we decide to take it
You're a much more knowledgeable and experienced hunter than I, but I would test those lapponias on some real terrain with loose dirt before you commit to them for a week. I used them for TAC in Vermont in May and I was slipping everywhere...it's a known issue apparently and very disappointing.
Appreciate the feedback. We'll have to check in with Brad to see how they've been working out for him. He's currently out in the backcountry on an archery elk hunt.
Always good to watch what works for you Brad. Do you find any issues with FHF FOB harness with magnets messing with a GPS? Using your carbonpoles, meat bags, knife, belt. Great gear, HAPPY HUNT'N!!!

Thanks Brad. Love ur gear dumps
Thanks! Appreciate the watch!
Great 5 day setup 💯💯💯💯💯
Thank you!

You know it!
I too rock the blue Crocs 🤘

Is that a new prototype Argali Sleeping Bag I watched you slide in your pack 😂 I hope so.
We can neither confirm nor deny ;)

That's right. It's a great lightweight system that's worked well for Brad. Appreciate the watch!
Brad throwing out "beta" don't know how many cross sports with climbing. Loved the climbing/hunting film
What size is the vacuum sealed bag? And what sealer do you have?
Have the MEAT brand I believe it is called and those bags are 11"x6".
Glad I’m not walking behind you on that 5th day with only packing one pair of scivvies 😂
Yep, that's generally left to us cameramen! 😆
Is that the Patagonia nano puff or nano air hybrid? Isn’t the air hybrid basically same layer as Ambient?
The Nano Air puffy is very different than the Ambient Hoody. Both great pieces but different. That is the regular nano air puffy I believe.
I’m going to have to steal your one peak refuel bag idea! How much TP do you use?! 😂 Can you save some room by taking less or using wipes?
I don't take whole roll. Just forgot to unwrap it!
How often do you bringing a change of clothes? I try to avoid camp smells in my camo is that a concern of yours?
I don't ever bring a change of clothes or worry about it. I only worry about the wind direction.

How long does it take to break in the lapponia boots? I just purchased my first pair. Thanks
for me they were perfect out of the box
How did you like the lapponias? I was trying to decide for an all around good boot I hunt in Louisiana but plan to take elk and mule deer hunting in future. Along with backpacking
Really liking them so far. don't have a lot of miles with them yet but so far so good.
Question Brad If it’s me and my daughter. Will, the rincon work for both of us and gear and stove if we want to bring it or would we be better with the absoroka
You will definitely want the Absaroka for 2 people and a stove. Will easily fit your gear as well.
@@Argali ok thank you We will be back pack hunting carrying our gear and camp with us on our backs everyday so trying to keep weight down and I didn’t know if the rincon would be enough room for both of us and our gear and stove
Not sure about the stove yet but wanted to have the option if we decide to take it
@@Argali i also guess my main reason at looking at the rincon over absoroka was room to set it on on the mountain and the elk woods
Yup, I would still grab the Absaroka. .6 lbs more and it will give you the stove option.
@@Argali perfect. Thank you for the advice

@@Argali heck yea! Hope you bag one!
Are getting away from some of the first lite stuff for any reason other than just to try new stuff ?
Just want to try new stuff. Lots of great gear out there.
What did it weigh after you got it all packed up?
37 lbs with 5 days of food and a Nalgene
What wristwatch are you wearing?
Garmin Instinct Solar

What's the 20 degree sleeping bag you use?
It's a test bag we aren't allowed to comment on yet.
@@Argali I wondered if that might be the case... Will keep an eye out.
@@Argali Cant wait to see what bag it is. love your products
Packed weight?
37 with 5 days of food
So did you split from First Lite?
We are still using some first lite gear but wanted to try out some other clothing as well. Lots of great options out there.
