So….almost had this happen to me…definitely invest in a fireproof safe and keep ur ammo away from it. Close all doors leading to valuables when leaving the house. A closed door can buy you tons of time in putting out a fire. Keeps out oxygen and helps to slow and choke fires out.

all jokes aside your story is pretty realistic in how things just go sideways faster than you imagine; i'll be adding my fire extinguisher to my house-spreadsheet tracker and also this is why the only candles i have are for jack-o-lanterns and they stay at a ceiling height away from kids
